I kind of think that McAfee’s show gained so much popularity because of how he talks about sports and the athletes that play the game. Unlike EVERY OTHER sports show that just has people yelling at each other and tearing down this athlete or that athlete, McAfee’s show feels like some guys at a bar talking about and ENJOYING sports.
Which is why they were the perfect fit for barstool, and that's where they should go back to.

When Dan Patrick left ESPN taking 3 employees with him and started his own show, instead of the suits wishing him the best, they banned all ESPN employees from his show. Dan just had fun with it…ESPN became the mother ship and the humor around it was fantastic. Dan became so successful ESPN had to back off.

As someone who grew up in PA, and lived near where Pat was born when I was living in the outskirts of Pittsburgh everyone gets called a "Motherfucker" and if Pat was mad and Steven A was as well it's something that easily could come from Pat's mouth but it would also be over a few moments later after they both blew off whatever frustration they were feeling.
Both men are very opinionated, fear no one, and will say what they want get if off their chest and then deal with whatever afterward.
If there is any lasting beef I don't think we'll ever know because at the end of it all they are both professionals and work for ESPN so they'll do what they need to in the end so they both continue to succeed.

I know someone who is a manager in one section of a nice hotel in New Orleans. He has seen many rich and famous people come through that place. This guy is a great guy and he has worked at this place since he was a teenager and now he's in his 50s so his life has been dedicated to this Hotel. Steven A Smith is without a doubt the worst guest he has ever seen!! He treated people terrible and even told some guys "don't talk to me I don't talk to people like you" people that worked there celebrated when he walked out!!! Steven A Smith is NOT a good guy plain and simple. I have never heard my friend say anything negative about anyone before but he went off on Smith just by the sight of his face on the TV.
