Tim Bartz said that dealerships don't submit Lightning orders like Broncos or Mavericks. It is 100% online so the dealer priority codes mean nothing for the Lightning since they are not dealer orders.
In your last video you kept saying the tow tech package came with onboard Scales but you weren't reading the word "removal". Removal means it was removed as an option.
I now realize this. I thought "on board scales and smart hitch removal" was a feature that helped... Remove the smart hitch?? Idk. Totally admit you are right. I feel like they could have worded it differently to make it more clear. 🤷
Priority code 19 will get your order built some day. You need to ask them to put you at priority code 10. Your truck will get built faster. This code tells Ford in what order that dealerships want their orders built.
after 12,000 miles, I suspect the onboard scales are of little value. I can see where it would impact the range calculator, which is a guesstimate, at best, anyway. If I were to miss it on my PRO, I wouldn't miss it. The 'smart hitch' is somewhat of more value, but, again, if you've ever driven a truck and attached to any type of trailer, you probably already know how to handle the logistics. This are 'tools', but not the most important ones.
😲😩 on the phone he said he can change me to 10 in January.... But now I'm worried. Does he have the authority to change my priority or does that number progress naturally as I get closer to the front of the line?
@@JosephHerzog according to all the Tim Bartz videos I have watched he says the dealer sets the priority between 10 and 19. Maybe there are limits to how many can be 10s at one time but that is a guess
My dealer says I have priority 1, supposedly I will notification of build date on Jan 3. If I make a change to the order it will go to priority 10 or higher. Whatever that means
@JosephHerzog I’m a little worried. My truck has a “scheduled to be built week of 12/19”. And hasn’t gone into production. While the week isn’t out I wonder if my dealer didn’t get the notification or call from Ford to move forward with the build without the scales. My window sticker does not show anything removed. Nor does my account. I’ve seen people in the forums say that if your dealer does not acknowledge the removal your truck build will be delayed. I wonder if my truck could be in that limbo.
If you were in an earlier wave, I have no idea how they're handling the scales. Maybe since those are further along they get delayed? Definitely worth reaching out to the dealer
My Pro was scheduled to be built the first week of December I got notification that it was built December 15th. So they are a week or so behind anyway. Winter storm probably won't help anything either.
Initially, it was at the top of my list too as a first time EV owner; I wanted very accurate range estimates to help curb some range anxiety. However, knowing how infrequently I haul it's not a deal breaker for me. But I completely understand that it WILL be a deal breaker for some.
When I ordered my Pro in August I had to select the option to remove the onboard scales. I didn't mind too much as I think even given the choice I would choose $650 over on board scales. Besides there's a non-zero chance that the weights would be recorded and some warranty potentially declined because "hey, you overloaded your truck four times." They tow technology package at $650 off was definitely worth it to me for the 360° cameras.
Range is not an issue with diesel- and gas-powered vehicles. Keep buying the battery novelty vehicles and suffer the ability to travel with drivability problems.
Indeed! As we know, gas vehicles are completely immune to this problem and tow with exactly the same fuel efficiency no matter how much you haul or tow.
But .... But .... But ..... The cool factor !!!!! Hoovie's loss of any decent range while towing a relatively light load showed me how ridiculous these toys are ....
Interesting thing I noticed: the tow tech package has said "on board scales and smart hitch removed" for a while but I didn't realize that' what this meant. As a first time EV buyer, I was definitely looking forward to having those scales.
I am not so sure the scale feature is needed to calculate gas mileage estimate or distance. Software can easily calculate load estimation without a scales measurement. The tow resistance would be a better feature. Even better, would be to have the software integrated with a GPS map that has road grades to the destination. I have had to turn around pulling a boat and go back downhill to a gas station when my truck gas consumption went more than double by trying to get past the last hill to the lake.
I think depending on how people use the truck, and if they're new to EVs the importance of the feature varies. But yes, definitely not a deal breaker for me!
I’m definitely frustrated with the price increases. However, having bought my XLT I’ve been happy ever since. Even if the monthly payment is higher than I imagined. You only live once!
@@alexaj17 I think the only fair options are to charge for the part once it arrives but not make the buyer pay for installation, or not make the buyer pay at all to make up for the inconvenience of delaying the buyer receiving the part they wanted
I love a good heated steering wheel. That would be a hard one to take. As it is I was thrilled to learn that the 2023 Pro seems to come with heated seats. Maybe this will make heated steering wheel retrofits easier and it will become possible on the pro.

Priority 19 means you won’t be scheduled. Dealer needs to change you to priority 10.

If your vehicle has been scheduled it will be built. If it's a lariat the VIN number might of changed due to tires all terrains vs all season.

-Onboard Scales $650
-Heated Steering wheel $140
