Been watching since the beginning, I have a 70 Chevelle myself and I’ve had it for 5 years now, I’m 20 and I just finally just got a good job so I can work on it, this is giving me a good idea of what I need to do
It's being while since I watch your videos. I stop watching because your started a Ford bronco project.. Now your back at it with Chevelle awesome.. Looking forward with you Craftsman work on the Chevelle. Only if I had the time to work on mine. This covid-19 did not stop me from working i only had couple weeks off since all this started. Being blessed to be still being working ..
Thanks Bill, yes candy paints are more difficult. After 2-3 coats of base coat color then you have to spray 2 more coats of the candy color then spray the clear coat next. The extra step takes time and you need a good clean spray booth.
Believe me I was tempted to buy new doors. Used ones are hard to find and buying new shells are expensive. Cheapest ones I could find were around $800 with shipping cost included. Also I purchased new door shells for a different restoration project and body lines did not line up very good. It was a lot of work to get them to fit plus transfer over all the hardware/window. So decided to rust repair.

@@soolegarage i just saw another video about buying guide. You mentioned maybe selling that 396 if so how much would you sell it for.
Really like the work your doing on the Chevelle, from a new subscriber...
Thank you I appreciate your comment.
Until I caught Mr Soole on camera, I thought Michael Douglas was restoring cars..
Thats funny, I enjoyed your comment....
Great job, is the candy hard to paint?

What is the actual name of that small red saw you were using.
That is made by Air Cat,, great saw!
Why not check the door for clearance before wielding up those doors 🤔
That is good advice, I was concerned about clearance so I was careful with my patterns before welding. The doors are back on and they fit great.
why wouldnt you just buy new doors or new used doors
