I'm glad you appreciate the way I've organised things, thank you. The 'cover' game was just too funny to bury anywhere else in the video, I had to address it straight away. Thanks again, you're very welcome at the channel!
At first, I wasn't too fond of "Mother Russia Bleeds", but it started to grow on me. I love how raw this game feels, that the bosses aren't just "Random Unfair Giant Thug" and need to be taken down in more unconventinal ways. Plus... setpieces... in a brawler... This game has some fantastic moments to shake up the monotony of the genre. And the soundtrack is a blast from start to finish.
Karate Survivor looks a winner for me. I've wrung the neck out of Vampire Survivors and need something similar but different. Love this channel and the sense of humour.
i did NOT KNOW about Metamorphic force getting released on switch! Thanks for the info! I spent SO many quarters on that game with buddies at the roller rink back in the day!
Thank you so much for the video! While I was watching the video at the same time I was preparing to purchase two beat 'em up games Jitsu Squad & Mayhem Brawler! When you mentioned Jazz The Frog I just loved it! Good luck and please keep making more videos like this!
I really like your videos. You've helped me empty my PSN wallet several times, now. I don't think I've seen a single video of yours that didn't result in me buying something new. I appreciate your work.
I had not seen your channel before, but this video was in my recommendation feed a few days ago. I didn't know what to expect based on the thumbnail and the video title because sometimes such things don't pan out. But this was genuinely very good. It reminded me that I need to have a look at Zero Team which looks better than I expected. The overall selection of games is interesting. Some of these, like Vengeance Hunters and Final Vendetta, were on my radar. I wasn't aware of some of these. Maiden Cops looks worth at least a further investigation and Jitsu Squad looks very well made. I like that Jitsu Squad has a lot happening on screen, but doesn't appear to shake the screen much, an effect which does not agree with me. I'll definitely be looking into that one. I'm already familiar with Metamorphic Force, which is fantastic, so good to see you feature it. Lastly, I was just thinking about Transformers Devastation. Not only was I not aware that it was delisted until recently, but it was available for sale digitally for a rather short time, which really says a lot about digital distribution the way it is set up right now.
Hello! I'm glad I could introduce you to a few new possibilities, and thanks for your kind words. There are quite a few gems, old and new, hiding on the digital storefronts. I just hope as many as possible enjoy physical releases, too. Thanks for watching - plenty more to come!
Wish listed everything here. All look great and I forgot about Transformer Devastation! Luckily I owned it and redownloaded. Love me some Platinum games :D
My Recomends: We Could Be Heroes - A Extream Funny Phisc Carnage and Bloodless - You Play a Ronin who has sworn not to shed any more blood in his Life. His Hometown Gets Attackt by a Ganster cartel and you Defeat them by not Harming them and Take there Weapons away.
Yes! Mother Russia Bleeds! The healing mechanics alone make MRB a unique experience. Being able to beat knock the teeth out of a complete bastard one-by-one is incredible.
Just ordered Jitsu Squad for the PS4 after watching this video (£14 new from Amazon - BARGAIN!). Never heard of it before. Crazy how some games just go totally under our radar. Thanks for the great video. I'm kinda hoping Maiden Cops gets a PS4 physical release too.
The art style for Maiden Cops looked really familiar, so I had to check and confirmed that it's made by the studio that produced Wife Quest, a side scroller about an adventurer trying to rescue her husband from a series of horny monster girls (who like to show off their tits) because he's apparently the only man in a 1,000 mile radius.
Cool. I'm new to this genre and its way more enjoyable than it looks. Especially the games that demand strategy and the use of throws for crowd control.
Yeah, I'd agree. There's often quite a bit of strategy to the better beat 'em ups, using moves and weapons in combination. Enjoy the games and thanks for watching!
FYI, Pippin Games, the people behind Maiden Cops, have two other games that are just as crazy: Wife Quest and Kawaii Desu Deathu, with the later being their first and weirder of the three. All three are available on consoles.
I knew about Maiden Cops. I follow the developers' itch. I haven't had much money to get it, but at some point it's gonna end up in my library for sure. That and Vengeance Hunters, for sure. As for what am I playing lately... I'm trying to clear Fist Hell, from the UFO 50 collection, without deaths to get the cherry disk. It's, appropriately, hellishly difficult.
Fist Hell! Yeah, that's gonna be tough. Classic game. Not a bad little collection that UFO 50. Enjoy the new releases when you get the chance, and thanks for watching!
for me this is one of the best channels on YT!!! you do it incredibly brilliantly in my opinion!!! your voice, your background knowledge, your way of representing the games is just great! even though i already know most of the games i still want to tell you that i am a huge fan of your videos and always look forward to a new video from you!!!
All these games look fun as all hell im a 80s kid so i was growing up playing the super hard game that people to day would break there controllers consoles and TV's out of pure rage😂
Yeah, it was a different time! I remember thinking I'd never complete a single game in my life during the 80s. But it was always so much fun trying. Enjoy the games and thanks for watching!
The people who made maiden cops made also made wife quest which is an actual funny and fun platformer with boobies. This is the reason I will give maiden cops a chance.
So, uh, Maiden Cops, huh? And, yes, Usagi also reminded me of Skate from SoR2. Also, at 3:18... What the hell is Max doing in there? I also never thought I'd see a cyborg beholder. Mother Russia Bleeds kinda reminds me of the Alien 3 game back on Sega from a visual standpoint. Looks brutal as hell, too. These all look fun in their own rights.
Most people save the naughty stuff for the end so they can still get a hope of being monetized. Not you, good sir! Also, River City Girls 1 / 2 are my favourite side scrolling beat 'em ups of all time.
Ah, why wait? Let's get on with the fun and silliness! River City Girls is great fun. I need to go back to those games at some point soon, it's been a while. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, I've been playing that recently as well. I like what the team have done with all the different characters. It seems so simple at first, but there's quite a few moves and I like the crazy bosses.
Hey there ! Just found out your channel and it seems we kinda enjoy the same things. I do some presentations myself (in french tho). Here's a list of beat 'em ups I really liked if you want to check some more : - River City Girls (1 or 2) - The Takeover - Clan N - Wulverblade - Viking Squad - Fight 'N Rage - I am the hero (really loved this one) - Mayhem Brawler (a sequel is on it's way) I won't talk about Streets of rage, Battletoads or TMNT Shredder's revenge as I suspect you already know them like most people :) Cheers mate !
Hello! Merci beaucoup! You mention some great games there, a few of which I've covered at the channel previously. You clearly have great taste. Streets of Rage and Shredder's Revenge are great, but everyone knows them, as you say. I like to try and uncover a few lesser-known games. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, I appreciate it.
Miaden Cops is a total knock off of Streets of Rage 2. I've played that game enough to know it, the punches, the keys, the jumping, the level design etc.
I really wish there were more beat-em-ups where you're JUST an anthro/furry and not a cursed human or a shapeshifting human, since I literally play as anthros/furries in games to NOT have to play as a human, but besides TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, the only one I can think of is Fight N' Rage, which has an indefensable message I refuse to support.
What I really hate about Jitsu Squad is that not only does the cursed human gimmick completely RUIN the characters for me, it's not even relevant to the plot! They just shoehorned narcissism into the characters, either because it's "ree-lay-tuh-bull" or they don't actually care about furries or animals and wanted to PRETEND they were appealing to furries.
Redeemer on switch is 60 fps, but it doesnt keep. It usually hovers around mid 50s, dropping to 40s when there's heavy fight scenes. Not a bad port through, one of the better ones imo, atleast I prefer this over locked 30 fps.
Yeah, that was a nice chunky beat 'em up. The Arcade Archives collection on PS4/Switch keeps growing, and that has a lot of excellent, long-forgotten brawlers in its library, including Konami titles. Fingers crossed we get a new Violent Storm conversion!
I literally just beat Redeemer on the switch and man it looks a lot cleaner on other consoles than the switch. On the switch it is a lot brighter than dark and grimy. Should have played this on the ps4. I only had one problem on the switch and it was one of the cut scenes towards the end. As the protagonist was talking the pictures were dragging by a few minutes. I had to exit out and restart the game. It was a fun beat em up game just to past the time. I got it throught a bundle with Shaolin monks and some other game.
What is with those small goddam sprites. Make the shit larger, well animated. They did it with TMNT, X-MEN, THE SIMPSON,WWF Superstars, WWF Wrestlefest. One company do this b.s. they all do it. It's like they eat one anothers shit. That ain't good. Bigger, well animated, fun to play n control characters. Don't make it so big they block out, or hinders gameplay.(Gotta tell brilliant monkeys this because they will screw it up ) I know their going for nostalgia. But screw all that too. DOWN WITH THOSE DAMN SMALL SPRITES!!! GIVE US THOSE BIG GORGEOUS SPRITES!!!
Haha! So, I'm getting the impression your prefer bigger sprites in your games? That's fair enough. I used to love those WWF (as they were then) arcade games, with giant pixel art Ultimate Warrior and Earthquake, jumping all over the screen. Couple that with the meaty sound effects... excellent.
Thanks for including some classic arcade beat-em-ups. Most of these games hold up exceptionally well.
My pleasure. And you're right, there are quite a few out there to discover. I love going back to the old pixel art. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for checking out Jitsu Squad 😊 we worked hard on it. See if you can spot my name in one of the stages backgrounds 😉
Congratulations on an excellent game. I will look out for your name! I look forward to seeing what your team comes up with next.

Transformers: Devastation is so good! The battle between Prime and Megatron is hype inducing. But why no mention of the music? It's great!

4@@Video_Games_Forever yes and Denjin Makai 2. And why not a sor4 style Final fight remake ? And let's not forget some very cool openbor projects ;-)
Sounds like the guy from digital foundry
To be fair, I've never seen us in the same room. Maybe we are the same person?
I literally just beat Redeemer on the switch and man it looks a lot cleaner on other consoles than the switch. On the switch it is a lot brighter than dark and grimy. Should have played this on the ps4. I only had one problem on the switch and it was one of the cut scenes towards the end. As the protagonist was talking the pictures were dragging by a few minutes. I had to exit out and restart the game. It was a fun beat em up game just to past the time. I got it throught a bundle with Shaolin monks and some other game.
Ah, thank you. Well, I'm glad you managed to get through the game at least, and thanks for the tip!
Madien Cops looks like a reskin of Undercover cops by Irem.
What game is that?
@animehybrid7021 An actually really cool beat em up from the people who did R-Type.
@kerbal666 oh? Love R-type!
Karate survivor gives me 'Jackie Chan' vibes. 🤔🤷
Exactly what I was thinking while I was playing. I bet he'd love the game!
Are any of these on switch?
Yeah, quite a few. I've got all formats listed at the beginning of each video segment.
Don't make it so big they block out, or hinders gameplay.(Gotta tell brilliant monkeys this because they will screw it up )
I know their going for nostalgia.
Couple that with the meaty sound effects... excellent.
