I was surprised at how nice it sounded through the small speaker
With the built in beat-box that's actually a cool practice guitar.
Fair review, some of the sounds were fab - especially the warm chorus. Good gutsy demo from Kenny.
Kenny was great!
I never play around the house because it is a pain getting everything together - then the complaints (from the family, not the neighbors - and I don't wanna go down to the basement).
I'd give it a go. Pete
It’s kind of neat my concern would be the added cost of replacing AA batteries would add up fast.
Just have two sets of rechargeables
Get on rechargeables bro. Save you a bunch over the years and saves some landfill space.
@@JoeC712 I haven’t seen anyone using rechargeable AAs in the last 10-15 years. Why? Because no companies make anything that takes them anymore.
@@toddmurphy390, just google on The Best Rechargeable AA and AAA Batteries
@@toddmurphy390, check on The Best Rechargeable AA and AAA Batteries
It definitely sounds better than my Fernandes Nomad, but I'm much happier with the Nomad's price!
Price is a little rough to see, but with Squiers pushing $500 now, it feels a little more normal for 2024. It’s niche, but definitely the best in the industry at that niche. People living with plenty of other people will get the most mileage out of it.
Not powerful enough for a guitarist, too expensive for a child or most beginners, but if you live in mobile home or houseboat, this could be your jam ...
I like the look
Maybe if it had built in rechargable batteries and a standard headphone out it would be more appealing.
Not something I'm sure there is a huge market for. Vox's curent guitar range is pretty strange and seems to mostly be for no one.
I kind of like it in a way, cool colours, and the style of it ticks my boxes. It almost reminds me of that red Gretsch Johnny Marr used to play in the early Smiths days, it had onboard effects too.
I can't see it being any more than a niche thing for the retro-future folks though.
600e is a bit steep.
My amp, speaker and guitar didn't cost that
No built in rechargeable battery? Come on, it’s 2024.
No tremolo???
Nah, better to have a small amp, like the Blackstar ID Core BEAM, in the lounge, with wireless connectivity.
Built-in rechargeable batteries take 'time to charge'.. No good when you want to use the thing and are left waiting hours for a re charge. Better to have swappable batteries. You can buy eneloops and have a spare set always charged up ready to swap out. Another problem with built-in rechargeables is when they fail and it's out of warranty.
@@ItsaCatsLife utter crap. So you are never able to use your cellphone, as its battery is flat? God forbid an emergency. The fact is, we have all become used to keeping our items charged.
However, I use Duracell rechargeable batteries in a couple of items, like my Xbox controller, and even though I have a tray spilt into two sections, “charged” and “flat, charge”, there’s never a charged battery when I need it. The wife replaces the clocks batteries etc, but never recharges them. Furthermore, chargeable and non chargeable loose batteries are expensive.
Vox have remained in 1963 on this one.
You can get rechargeable AA batteries. And I hate trems, so glad it doesn't have one 😅
It does have built in tremolo (effect)
The speaker gets covered by your right forearm. Can’t help feeling they could’ve done a more Strat / Tele body and put the speaker elsewhere🤔
thats a massive let down for me aswell. It shuld be internal recharge (plug in ) batteries. Now its nothing exciting and new.
For a moment I thought it could replace my Steinberger Spirit as my living room guitar and eliminate the need for a separate headphone amp, but not being able to stand up when leaned against a table line the Spirit is an issue. It isn’t even stand-friendly.
i loved the drum machine through the amp idea
The price is less of a concern than the battery requirement. That's what's going to bankrupt whoever owns this otherwise funky, cool guitar.
This is how electronics engineers make an acustic guitar
That's one way of looking at it. Or we could take the Yamaha Transacoustic and Fender Acoustasonic lines in that definition too but for different reasons. I'd probably much rather have one of those. The Yamaha especially if I didn't want to plug in.
Does it have internal batterys ? At least for me that's a deal breaker (& a price that's not to far away from a acceptable acoustic guitar)!
This is the Tone of the Gods!
Neat guitar with its own built in amp and speaker 🔈. That’s what you call compact guitaring. Does it have preamp outs to hook up a bigger amp???
Nice idea but...if above £225 I predict a goose egg... lol.
I’d give it a little more… the guitar 150 to 200, plus the bass tech another 100 ish
@@TheGuitarGeek depends on the quality of the thing, it’s not that pretty 🥴 quirky yes 😅 & up against a jet/harlyB and a spark at tops £250 otherwise who is this aimed at
just have to wait for an AliExpress clone
Maybe do a video about how Fender got the EVH SA-126 price wrong, $1,799-$1,899 for a hot-rodded Fender Starcaster that's MiM? Fender did Wolfie wrong with this price point. They're competing with a lot of shredder options Made in Japan. The Wolfgang Specials are where Fender should have priced this, maybe $1,499 for a maple top. Don't see how this guitar is going to succeed at nearly $2k. And the white relic Wolf played on stage is easly $2,249 with their current price structure.
Wait, can't you play it through just output jack into an amp without using it's own amp? Does this still require batteries??
I just feel like this is a step down (at least visually) from the Apache Phantom and Teardrop that came out a few years back. Id be more forgiving of it, but Vox has been doing this thing for a while where they'll give players everything AROUND what they actually want, and act like its the biggest innovation since the wheel. 🤷 Just my thoughts tho
I'd just like a regular guitar in that shape...or a Mark III/ Teardrop... by Vox. Please
bring the original Apache shape back Vox, get your sh*t together
I think this is brilliant but depends on the price
t-pain will dig this.
If Anton Newcombe buys one, it’ll be a hit
Seriously, squinting and thinking of old classic Vox Starstreams makes this look kind of cool... I like the colours.
Should be a smaller scale. At least 24.75 or 24 even
It looks like a joke guitar, but I bet it’s the one that gets played the most at home. Take it off the hangar and go. Unfortunately the 6 x AA batteries will make it too inconvenient for most. They probably should have added an internal USB-C rechargeable battery like the various ‘Transacoustic’ guitars, for more convenience and longer play time. It will probably be Indonesian made so really should be cheaper. Nice idea but a bit of a reach for your average buyer, and the battery faff will keep most people away. These will go for peanuts next Christmas!😂
agree about the batteris
Next Christmas these will be on sale for $299 or even less. The AA battery set up is a joke, especially at that price. Love youVox but big fail!
600e is a bit steep
I just love how Vox keep releasing guitars that are dead on arrival. It's like they never learn. For 200 EUR? Maybe there is a market for that. For 600 - forget about it.
$199 all day long 🙂
They shit the bed with AA batteries
What the hull were they thinking? Looks horrible. I wouldn't even purchase that for a child. The sort of mistake that bankrupts a company.
Neat idea but I’ll pass.
This is a Handy (bad German for mobile) guitar: "hend di koi Schnürle" ...
"look mum: no wires" ... yes it does the trick
Or buy a headphone amp
yeah!
Was that dude drunk? 🤔
600€ for a toy...
MADE IN CHINA... No thank you.
The Vox webpage for the APC 1 irritatingly corny.
That is one ugly guitar!
One of the ugliest headstocks ever 😂
A complete waste of money and time. 👍
why not a rechargeable battery? AA batteries in 2024? that's a deal breaker for me.
You can get rechargeable AA batteries
@@adiohead... I have a rechargeable AA and 9v set up...but considering todays tech. and at that price, should be able to just plug it in. Disappointing.
