I’m from Wellington and I think it’s a great place to live and I’ve lived in London and Sydney so I’m not some clueless yokel. It’s not too great a place to visit, but attributes for living in a place every day and merely visiting a place once or twice are not the same thing. He must’ve gone to Courtney place on a Monday or Tuesday night or something, because Thursday night to Sunday night it is full of people even in winter.
And I honestly don’t understand why he keeps mentioning Melbourne for, how is that place even relevant to bring up?

i went to kelbern normal school and sprained my leg. nNobody helped me and i was eight years old. Never go there.
'Kelburn not normal school', because teachers don't help children with injuries. Wasn't there a suicide in the playground one time?
@@scottgresham6759 I didn't know there was a suicide but that's real bad. They should take better care of their students. I only went there for a year and a bit before i left so I don't know much.
@@MonkeFive I'm actually a teacher in Asia, but I don't have much involvement with student's welfare, I just write lesson plans, teach classes and do some administrative tasks. I remember the indifference of teachers at Wadestown main school when I had some serious personal issues. A lot of school staff don't do more than the bare minimum to do their jobs.
@@MonkeFive Actually I understood it was an adult youth who hung himself in the playground. Sometimes you hear ghastly stories of child suicides. Anyway enough about this awful topic.
Somehow this had the reverse affect on me... seems cool. But then I'm proudly from Hobart.

Moved back to Wellington (regretfully and reluctantly) from townsville in early February and im already making plans to leave for another part of New Zealand..The mayor is a Boozehag and the city has been run down so much while I was in Australia that it resembles south central LA in some parts

Nah, it's great here! The city is big enough to be interesting and have great food, cafes and shopping, but small enough to be "human scale" - not overwhelming.
The harbour, with the ferry across to Day's Bay (beautiful place).
The laid-back pace of life! No "rush rush rush" like in Auckland.
The food and the awesome cafes! Some of the best in the country!
The "Green Belts" - so close, no matter where you are in the city. Mt Vic, the Botanic Gardens (easy to get to on the iconic Cable Car), the University with its lovely old Hunter Building.
The beaches - from those around the harbour to Island Bay and Makara!
The weather - it hardens you up! Give me Wellington's refreshing wind and rainy days over Auckland's *awful* humidity and heat any day! At least you can sleep at night on cold evenings here - not like in Auckland in the summer!

As a Wellingtonian I can only dignify this video by telling you that your attempt at humour is primary school bully level and that I’ve barely heard of Melbourne let alone have any idea about the place. I'm from Melbourne, and it has more people than the entirety of NZ so surprised you've barely heard of it.
@@Wesda Of course I've heard of it. I just have barely heard of it and barely have any idea about the place. It's not relevant to me. I'm not familiar with what the place is like. I hear little to nothing about it and what's happening there. I've never known anyone from there. I don't know of anyone nor anything famous from there. I am not familiar with any landmarks there nor anything that sets it apart. The only thing I ever hear about Melbourne is that horse race, and I have no interest in gambling nor horse racing.
It's like Adelaide or Hobart or Perth. Or Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, etc. They're just some city in some other country.

Totally agree. This guy has no clue about welly and in typical Australian fashion compares everything to themselves that they have copied us in doing. Wellington was ahead of its time and Melbourne has just come on the scene in the last 2 decades but makes sense he’s a young dude.
