    Hello Engineer I am currently doing my EIT as graduate Electrical Engineer in SA, I have been tasked with cable sizing by my line manager. I find this video very helpful, if you don't mind can you share your presentation and the cable selection manual that you are using. Thank you keep up the great work👍👍

    Can we also use that total derating factor and multiply it with the ampacity of the cable we have selected so that it geta lower rating after the factors, instead of diving the load with the derating factor? same thing right?

    Dear Cable selection we should the size as per breaker rating first then select the cable accordingly having said while selecting cable we should observe cable length and Temperature derating factor also

      @@salmananwar8370 Hello salman, please watch this video carefully, i have mentioned all those points, length has covered in voltage drop calculation and temperature covered in Derating factor calculation.
      Apart from these obviously MCB rating must be lower than cable rating, if i calculate whole system i must consider electrical equipment rating, MCB rating and cable rating, however this calculation is only for Cable selection as per the given load.
      I will make separate video in which I include MCB and Equipment rating as well.
      Thanks for watching

    For .80 depth. How u select the cable range of 95-240

    • @Rashid-iqubal
      @Rashid-iqubal  3 месяца назад

      Because the range between 95 to 240sqmm cable can carry 243.46 ampere current.

    But sir you didn't mention saftey factor for breaker and then you should Calculate cabel size after we will get circuit breaker rating divided by derating factor to get the Actual cabel size

    Mentioned milli volt /amp/meter however it was taken as volt here for voltage drop calculation can u plz clarify

    • @Rashid-iqubal
      @Rashid-iqubal  2 месяца назад

      The value given in mV/A/m indicates how many millivolts of voltage drop will occur per meter of cable for each ampere of current flowing through it. This rating is provided by cable manufacturers as per their material quality.

    please sir the 100 in the VD % calculation is not clear, please ?

    • @Rashid-iqubal
      @Rashid-iqubal  2 месяца назад +1

      Its a mathematics to find percentage.
      Total voltage drop is 10.56v
      If you want to convert into percentage from 415v then you must multiply with 100 (%) / 415
