Last week we shared an explainer video about the alien ship that popped up in episode 1. I’m going to recap some of the things we talked about last week, but very briefly. So, if you’re a friend of the channel and you already saw that video-don’t worry, this won’t take long.
Bruce tells us that this ship was [sakaarian courier craft], and it does match the Grandmaster’s party yacht that he flew in Ragnarok. So you'll remember that in thor: ragnarok, the Hulk had been living on a planet called sakar for 2 years. The planet is covered in einstein rosen-bridges-or wormholes-that people across the universe use to dump their trash into. So Sakaar is kind of a miserable place to live-it’s like a combination of Lotho Minor and every redneck’s front yard.
But people on Sakaar don;t mind that their planet is a trash heap, because they mostly care about the gladiator games. The games are run by the planet’s ruler, the Grandmaster [clip, sparkles].
Just as Roman emperors appeased the masses with games in the coliseum, the Grandmaster uses his position as emperor to line his own pockets, and distract the poor with sports. So Hulk was a perfect fit on this planet, and became the #1 celebrity-and, I’m just guessing, he probably laid more pipe than a delta trencher [baby!]
When Thor, Loki, and baner escape the planet it gives the revolutionaries a chance to rise up [the revolution has begun] and in the raganarok post credits scene, we see that the Grandmaster has indeed, been captured. [clip]
Now, Thor: Ragnarok was a very loose adaptation of the great comic book Planet Hulk. In that book, the Illuminati [clip]. The illuminati send Bruce to space, where he ends up as a gladiator pn Planet Sakaar. Except in the comic, he leads a revolution against the red king, gets married, and then be comes a widow when his pregantn wife dies in a bomb blast that kills thoiusands of people.
Hulk blames the Illuminaiti for this bomb, so he goes to earth to get his revenge, and that’s the story world war hulk. An endless stream of Bruce taking down everyone in the Marvel universe. And we’ve had rumors for a while that there was going to be a planet Hulk movie-and this all but confirms it.
But, it turns out that Hulk’s unborn son lived-

Old magic, germinated in a swamp, doesn’t matter. And the son became a warrior named Skaar. In our video last week I theorized that Skaar would eventually join the Young Avengers, who should be joining the MCU any frickin’ day now after years of setup.
Our video last week was pretty general, just vague ideas of what could happen in this movie. Now I want to get into specifics.
First, let’s talk about Sakaar. There is no way the Grandmaster is still in charge of this planet. This is the kind of guy who doens;lt inspire the loyalty of the masses, so once he’s out of power, some other warlord would take his place. Besides, the Thor raganarok Daryl shorts showed that he was living in Australia [clip].
So I think a new leader has taken over Sakaar. The Grandmaster might appear in this movie-but I doubt it. I don’t think that a democracy would have sprang up on sakaar either, because that makes for a really boring story. Usually, violent revolutions to overthrow tyrants create more tyrants. In the comics, it was a warlord named Axeman Bone-but then the Hulk’s son Skaar defeated him.
So, if we’re looking at possible candidates to take over Sakaar, the number one person has to be the son of Hulk, Skaar. And there’s no need for his origin to make hium into a swamp baby. Like I said, the big guy got around [pipe machine]
Doug: But wouldn;t his son be like 7 years old.
No, because time works differently on Sakaar. [grandmaster clip, millions of years old].
Dioug: That means time moves slower.
Ah, but also Loki has been on the planet for weeks before Thor shows up…so time also moves faster on the planet. So Skaar could, in theory, be whatever age the story needs him to be.

I don't know, man. My only issue with the whole time working differently on Sakkar is that when the Revengers got back to Asgard, their time was still relative to that of Hela/Heimdall & the fleeing Asgardians..
But if it works differently, it's a nifty get out of jail free for writers.

The Avenger Tower in the Fantastic 4 Movies would have exactly been when there is a director cut on The Torch going straight to Silver Surfer.

So in that scene in She-Hulk, Bruce seems pretty chill about the trip--leaning back, legs up, casual tone. Whatever it is he's heading toward, he's not worried about it. This makes me think Bruce was told a lie to get him somewhere IF he's about to face something really difficult to handle like you described. What do you think he was told?

@@WhyTheHorseface yeah a loose plan. They know what movies they want to do, that doesn't mean they know the exact plot. Dr. Stranger's plot changed a couple times

It would be pretty cool if we get like a murder-mystery-crime film where we know a savage hulk is the killer or villain of some destruction on Sakaar and we meet all the people everybody wants to meet. Red King, Skaar, even Hercules because he’d be tracking/studying Thor and his previous travels.
Epic film because world breaker hulk is a monster indeed.

I would love to see Maestro or Skaar. Hulk hasn't been given a fair shake since 2008--we need to see how powerful he can really be.
Agreed, MCU has almost weakened him and we havent seen Hulk nowhere close to his full potential. Even in Infinity War and Endgame, he might as well had Hawkeyes skillset.
@@krazyhorse9596 completely agree. It feels like the MCU didn't know what to do with him. An adaptation of World War Hulk would be a great move too because 1. It's really fun to see heroes fight each other, and 2. It could showcase an insanely powerful version of Hulk.

Something I would like to see in a possible World War Hulk movie is for Banner to find a way to bring back classic Hulk. Like he learns how to let Hulk be in control of the body without going into full rage mode. Using the driving analogy from Ragnarok,Banner goes to the passenger seat and Hulk goes to the driver’s seat. That way they can keep Smart Hulk while also letting us see regular Hulk.
I liked the Eternals, as well. I think it's a great stand alone that introduced a group of characters who I really didn't know much about myself. I'm interested to see where their story leads.
Their story will continue in Avengers : The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars
It's a waste if we don't see The Goldblum as The Grandmaster again. I hope we do and that he's still on Sakaar.
I’d say it’s more of a waste if we don’t get the red king. But that being said The Grandmaster can be in it as well Goldblum is fantastic, maybe he’s a prisoner or something

If they're following the comics - he just might be going back to Sakaar to see his kid he didn't know about lol - guess we'll find out - but I think this series will lead into either a Planet Hulk movie or series.

@@brademerick9181 I don't think Smart Hulk cares for those challenges anymore though lol - I think the only thing that gets him on that ship is finding out he has offspring - because the first ep they seemed to make it very clear he didn't want his blood getting into the wrong hands.
Definitely going to be a series. Universal owns movie rights and Disney would end up losing money if they made a Hulk movie.

I tend to think this is just a plot point so Bruce/Hulk can be removed from the series and will probably return by the last episode, but it's fun to think outside of the box
You don't throw Sakaar into this show without laying a foundation for WW Hulk. Rumors have already been out there. He's 100% going back to find out he has a son.
I'm so happy you don't make movies its too big of a thing to add Sakaar into the mix imagine if they never addressed it it would be a huge waste of time. We may not find for awhile but I'd bet anything we'll get a taste at the end of She Hulk.

@@TheJusDon I think Thor-Ragnarok filled the Planet Hulk piece, the next step would be World War Hulk. I think it'll be some off screen stuff, plus small scenes in the Marvels to set the plot for him to come back to earth with the warbound.

That would suck... We need to see the actual HULK be the World War Hulk not anyone else..it's called world war Hulk for a reason.. Also World war Hulk would show Hulk as the badass that he is. Which is what we've all been asking for.

I like the theory of Maestro as the Villain. Maybe it could be the idea that Hulk had two children one became Skaar, leader of the new rebellion, and the other maestro the new dictator of the planet. Or they could introduce the Red king this time and have it play out similar to World war Hulk where he goes back to Sakar and he helps in the rebellion again the red king meets Caiera and fall in love have Skaar. Since time works different on Skaar the war could be going on for ages without affecting the mcu timeline. Possible also go the route Red king has taken over Caiera is killed and Skaar calls on his father cause he's meant to be the "Strongest there is".

I think we're all missing the potential for a young love relationship between Love and Skaar.
I know on Skaar's MCU reveal he was already aged, but remember in the comics it was the same, but when Skaar "de-hulked", it revealed that he was actually just a young child.
A young child fairly close in age to Love in the end of Love and Thunder.
The opportunity for comedy between Hulk and Thor as dads dealing with their kids developing feelings for each other could be absolutely hilarious.

I think with the multiverse stuff going on, you could have a variant of hulk that killed the thor of his universe, never left sakaar, overtook the grandmaster's position and became maestro. That could be who has baited Smart Hulk to come back with the story (whether true or not) about him having offspring. Maybe in a post credit scene of that movie you meet skaar finally and that leads into him joining young avengers.
Imagine that the real Villain on the upcoming World War Hulk movie was Maestro?!
A gladiators contest would be perfect to introduce Mojo in the MCU, selling pay-per-views to all corners of the Universe.

Great review Ryan but concerning skaar I don’t think we’re going to see him in the MCU and if we do not anytime soon because with the actual hulk being around/in space and she hulk on earth, adding skaar or the future hulk to the mix will just be too many hulks right now. I think they’ll go with something different.

I think Blonsky was training with Wong to get ready because he's been invited to fight as a gladiator on Sakaar. That why he's trying to get parole. Somehow he is being medicated or suppressed, maybe has a tracking or monitoring device implanted in him, while on the raft and once he is paroled that will be stopped or removed and he can flee to Sakaar.

I would love to see Maestro. I’ve only ever seen him in the Avenger’s game, but even in the few encounters with him, he is an awesome villain, and it would be cool if he was in the MCU.

The way he sounded like in the episode, looks like its probably about skaar causing some tantrum or is being a tyrant and hulk has been called to calm him down, make him understand and take him under his wing
Maestro showed up years before Skarr was even thought.
The movies find a way to do things differently than the comics .
It’s very possible in the MCU that Skarr has become the ultimate ruler .... his absolute power has corrupted .
Skarr may very well BE Maestro in the Movie Version leaning towards a Father / Son stand-off.

The way they gave She Hulk her powers, I think that they will do something similar to make Skaar, Bruce's blood infects a pregnant lady and because her DNA isn't compatible it kills her but infects the baby... I don't think Hulk got any on Sakaar
I think you came up with something here, regarding Hercules meeting with Bruce, but if not, they will probably announce that Thor 5 will be released in phase 6 and Hercules will be there

I just had a thought, Bruce made a Gamma suppressor to keep him banner, it kinda reminds me that Amadeus Cho, used to where (i believe) Gamma Regulators, maybe the existance of one leads to the other along the way?
And would it be too surprising if they mix up teams a little, so Brawn (formerly a hulk) wouldnt be too out of place on the Young avengers

To many variables, to many actors. Hulk has had less then a stellar showing at the box office, and thus I do not think a World War Hulk movie will happen. I think Hulk leaving on that ship was their way of removing him from the show to focus on She Hulk. If anything they left the door open for Hulk in future films.
Hulks contract ends 2023 so perfect time for it

I mean if you think about it at the end of the she hulk episode Bruce did have his hulk folder sooo I am thinking that message he got mentioned he had a son and he IS going to try and pass along his knowledge but who knows atm how exactly that first confrontation will actually end up going.

The setup for a Planet Hulk movie I hope!
I think the reason why Loki got into Skaar 1 week early because they traveling with the Bifrost which is fast (really fast) and since time works differently on lightspeed, the scene where it only take about 7 seconds between Loki and Thor going out the Bifrost it cost about a week in Skaar.
But its just a theory, a Film Theory!
It's not that Sakars time moves slower and faster because we'll that doesn't make sense, but rather that each wormhole warps space time differently depending on its location in the universe. So that's why loki was there for a whole before thor showed up.
I'm getting a real "Nathan Explosion" vibe from Skaar.
I love this idea! Hope to see it. It does come up with some complications though. An unborn child's kicks can be rough on the mother....an unborn child's kicks with even a fraction of the hulks strength would be deadly to any human or alien species I can think of.
Maybe they could spin it to where, the child innocently kills the mother and holds a vendetta against his father for the death of this mother.
Hulk does have a child from Caiera the Old strong called Skaar, in the Planet Hulk, comic series. He emerged from a cacoon.

What if they do some one off movies and shows that got nothing to do with anything before, or after. Like what DC started doing with the bat and the joker. Like, seeing what people want after such a long time of interconnectedness. Could get some really cool one offs there.

I knew I should’ve bought the What If -Planet Hulk comic a few weeks ago. It’s spiking like crazy since 2nd episode of she hulk 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
I kind of had a similar idea, that skaar would be introduced in a world war hulk story line. What if Skaar’s mom send the ship to get Bruce to come save his son from the gladiator fights. That would also explain why he brought his Hulk Guide on the ship. To help guide a new hulk into controlling his powers. The new Red King might also be banking on the tourists attractions the fights bring. Especially if they can make the wormholes easier to pass back and forth. And if the red king also has his own hulk trying to repay a debt. A debt to travel through the wormhole to see his father that abandoned him. Bruce come to settle his son’s debts to then help his new family to escape Sakar. And to guide Skaar with his powers in the process. Maybe even over throwing the red king and ruling Sakar for a bit like in the comics. Then loosing it all, leading to world war hulk. Or Bruce escaping with his now wife and Skaar decides to stay and rule. Since that’s all his son has ever known to this point, and feels at home with this new found peace.
They should do World War Hulk. Then transition into Planet Hulk and end with Old Man Logan bringing back Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. That would shatter box office records IMO.
