Was Koba Right?
Maybe
Honestly, I think so
Yes
no blaming a whole group of people for the wrongs that were done to you is wrong.
He was right in not trusting the humans, but he was wrong by using violence as the solution of the problem.
It also proves that apes will become just like humans in their quest for more knowledge, technology and power.
Everyone was right, that's what makes these movies interesting!
Yesss. Exactly!
X-Men handled it well.
Xavier: "Your problem is that you think they're all like Shaw."
Magneto: "And your problem is you think they're all like Moira."
Yep
Even worst, Magneto thinks they all are like Shawn.
But in the end Shaw turns out to be "we" not "they" because he is a mutant that hurts others mutants
@@alfredotejedaortiz304 he deemed them as traitors to the cause.
In all fairness, Bad Ape was right too.
Steve Zahn is always right, besides when he signed on for Sahara 😂
What’s Sahara?
@@Alf-gm7tf Google it
@@Alf-gm7tf Exactly
A movie starring Steve Zahn? lol
I hate that there’s a Koba, but I fully understand how a Koba happened.
so technically Koba is Hamas.

"Cesar weak" - Koba......."Koba weaker" - Cesar🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
Caesar = Professor X
Koba = Magneto
Basically
Caesar = Hashirama
Koba = Madara
Back when Rise of the Planet of the Apes first came out I submitted a Koba Was Right design to Tee Fury and a couple other sites for a T-shirt styled after the Magneto Was Right from the X-Men. It was rejected by all of them and the only feedback I got was that I "missed the point of the movie."
You mean Dawn?
@@PaganMinDNW In all fairness to the OP, the titles definitely should have been swapped
@@SpartacusGalkuswhy? Rise was Caesar taking control of his and the Apes destiny…. they decided to rise up…. How is it confusing?
Magneto was Right!
Magneto the X Man Ape!!
Magneto represents today's society perfectly. His a young lad who survived a holocaust to only grow up and try take over & control the world Like a fake state today.
The first time Caesar says "NOOOO" to Draco Malfoy gave me goosebumps!
I’m so confused by takes like this…
Isn’t the point of the movie to see ourselves in the apes and the humans to realize that there is no real difference?
Saying that koba is right is just like saying a human was right for trying to kill all apes. They are literally the same character with different amounts of hair.
No. People aren't that simple.
That's the point, there is not just pure goodness and evil. Koba was right to be afraid of humans but his actions were unforgivable but humas were about to do the exact same but some of them were still rooting for coexistence and acceptance.
Just like the real world there is so much cruelty but also kindness and you cannot think everyone is just one or the other.
@@mikufollower8564 That's what the dude just said.
most villains are usually right, its how they go about it that makes them the villain; especially an interesting or good one.
you 100% know this but need the clicks and engagement apparently with these "____ was right" video series and im always happy to oblige
“Before we go to kindergarten and socialize with sociopaths” had me for a second before dying of laughter
How to mention the Gaza genocide while not mentioning the Gaza genocide
I love how everyone refers to the bad zookeeper as Draco Malfoy instead of the actor’s name hahahaha
You can show your enemies respect. But you do not give them blind trust. Trust is earned. And you do not destroy your only means of protecting yourself.
Another theme in Dawn in particular is showing how often deliberate misinformation, propagnada, and conclusion jumping are also the nature of our species. Peace and empathy between both species could've been possible, if only humans would allow for objective communications and actually listened to one another. Perhaps most of mankind didn't deserve to be wiped out, but in all actuality we'd drive ourselves over the cliff of extinction before we accepted the consequences of our own actions.
I'm much more on the side of the Apes even in Dawn just because, as we heard from the sacred ape scrolls thousands of years later, "beware the beast man..for he is the devil's pawn."
There hasn't been a peaceful day on earth in the thousands of years since humans showed up.
Koba Is like the Magneto of this franchise
High schooler teachers need to watch this with their kids. This is more educational than half the stuff they learn.
This was brilliant Ryan, one of your best videos
Excellent video! As always.
And they wonder why aliens don’t ride into town on horses
I've heard that joke, that the surest sign that intelligent life exists in the galaxy is that they have avoided contact with our planet.
Wasn’t ready for those pure life lessons at the end 😂🥹
16:55 Whoa this segment on how to achieve peace… all of it, all the way to empathy. Sir, that was great. Run for mayor or something! lol 😂… seriously though well stated guys
I second that !
Koba is one of the best villains put onscreen. Hands down.
I agree, a great character in cinematic history, not just the Ape franchise
I guess ham radio didn't exist in this timeline!
Ever since I learned about Hegel and the Other and tribalism in college philosophy, I started to grow this same mindset on what's preventing peace.
I really like that you always put yourself out there in these vids and speak from the heart. I always try to do the same. Props SC team! Keep it up!
I always thought the neighbor from the 1st movie was treated unfairly. The first time we saw him was him defending his children. Good father. 2nd time there was an old man in his car. Defending his property. 3rd time we saw him he was coming out his house and blood was spit all over him that would start the virus spread. That dude was the misunderstood victim the whole movie.
The most unfortunate neighbor😂
Excellent analysis. Need to go back and watch all the movies (made since 2011).
Kingdom shows The Colonel was right as well.
Not really. You can't mistreat a group then whine when said group starts mistreating you.
He was just Koba in human form because he never cared for humanity, he just cared for human dominance ( as in authority over other humans). Which is ironic because power hunger and abuse of authority is high in upper ranks in the military.
Was he right? ..goes and does same things humans do.The old 2 wrongs don't make a right that we seem to have forgotten. Fear porn is easier then hope.
I legit love you Ryan. You show your true heart in videos like these and it just deepens my respect for you. You are my brother, even though we've never met.
Slightly creepy
“Warm fuzzy childhood” …indoctrination
Your quote about peace was so nice
Isnt it ironic that Noah is named after the man who parted the sea when he's potentially the catalyst to bridge Apes and Humanity together
Moses parted the sea, to that point though, from the first viewin’ of the 3rd movie, I always found it ironic that the protagonist had the name Caesar, while his endin’ mirrored that of Moses; he led his people to the promise land, yet he was ultimately denied entry, himself, to said promise land.
At 9:41 Caesar didn’t attack him when he pushed the boy he attacked when he said he loves humans more the apes and his family. Most the video good but you reached mad hard for no reason at that part
I remember watching the first movie and I went back and watched all the movies with kingdom of the planet too. I saw some comments saying that these movies were unrealistic and it's the furthest thing from the truth. These movies especially the second and the third one show what would be the most likely scenario if this were to happen irl. Being smart is a human thing and if another species were to become smart, they would yearn for freedom and would do anything to keep their freedom too. The first movie's narrative was human bad ape good but the second movie really managed to show both sides in a humanized objective perspective. Koba was right, humans will never give up but that means ape will not either because they're human too now. So the best way the two sentient species could exist would be to learn how to live together. Building a society and creating laws and making a safe home for both apes and humans. Or else they would keep killing each other until one side goes extinct completely. But regardless I really love these series and they don't feel like sci Fi to me. They're really realistic and it's like you can't have a side like in other movies because it's just how it works. You can't change evolution and u have to adapt to it or else you and others like you will cease to exist
You have to 2 kind of people who tend to say 'this movie is unrealistic'.
1 Misogynists/racists, when a movie has a lead or narrative about a less represented group.
2 Haters when they see a people from a less represented ENJOY a movie or character that represents them ( in a positive ) manner.
Haters usually tend to be from the groups I mentioned in point 1.
This essay was *chefs kiss* 🤌🏼😘 another great one, Ryan! Great job!!! Love this saga, i watched them all recently in preparation for the new one and now i want to watch all four again 🤣
No one likes a bossy boba tea… sometimes I don’t want all the tapiocas.
Koba is the Magneto of POTA
Screencrush out here brokering human peace and peace amongst species, ya gotta love it!!
Just watched the film yesterday
They should make a what if? Series for this franchise 😅.
The human race would do well to watch this video
One of the best mitigators of conflict is what we ended up doing in the real world, diplomats and family members of the elite living in the other camp so that understanding and otherness is devolved.
It always seems to come down to the ones with the best weapons will suceed over the ones who have the best ideas on how to coexist
when all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.
Koba is one of the best cinema villains of all time
What an amazing lesson how fear and empathy
Such a good analysis!!
"we kind of suck" Is a vast under statement.
Am I crazy or does the sentence he says “competition for resources became scarce “ sound like the competition is scarce not the resources? Shouldn’t it be “competition raged as resources became scarce”? Someone smart tell me if I’m correct or I’m crazy lol
Makes sense
What humans don’t and can’t understand they fear.
Neandrethals = Neander Hills in Germany where they are thought to originate = Nee-ANDR-talz
XD please use this song everytime when koba is on screen XD im dyin of laughter
In the end, communication is always the problem... the lack of it, I mean 😂
Well worded Ryan. I liked your perspective on this franchise a lot.
Yo! This was a dope watch!
2 intelligent beings can not coexist on the same planet. We will find this out in the next Planet of the Apes between Maie and Noa.
Yes they can
Also means we are acting like humans. Cause we humans. 😂😂😂
This is definitely one of your better reviews, love it!
KOBA was my favourite Ape
Ash would say no.
James Francos definitely not gonna be back lol but I always wondered what happened to Rodman he was literally basically father to ape Jesus
It’s going to become the ape history Cornelius talks about in Escape. How apes became pets.
this is the first time im watching the world from the other part view.
Even if the new apes movie is bad, it’s given us an opportunity to revisit DOTPOTA.
What a great movie, in a year full of great movies
Koba was right, he just approached the situation wrong.
In the end, it goes the show thay Humans and Apes are all the same. We're all Apes afterall
You hit the.
Head of the nail with that one Is fear and tribalism is brings the worst out of some human being. They go and lay claim Without ever seeing, or caring if it was occupied like they did the Indians. You would think they would learn from it, but they don't care. Thank you for seeing it because telling history is becoming a problem for some!
Proximus was right !!!
Wtf kind of destruction did he aay, nucleriation.
What other villains were right?
COD AW John Irons was right😂
Eric Killmonger
thanos
Tom from Tom and Jerry. Cat was chillin and mouse was always taking his milk
Ozymandias in Watchmen🙌
He is?!
Yes, he was...absolutely completely right...the earth doesn't need humans.
Nah Koba wasn’t ‘right’. Looking at the arc of Caesar, coming to the conclusion that Koba is right is what makes him ‘right’ in universe. Dawn shows Caesar trying to choose peace at every turn. Koba became the self fulfilling prophecy, a cycle of anger that spreads like a cancer
Koba was ahead of his time 🦧
i love if james franco apear in the 3 movie and die with cesser
What happened to Will?
Get the T-Shirts and Hoodies made. Koba was right 2024
i need a complete version of america koba yeah XD
What a wonderful day
The "so-and-so was right" discussion completely misses the whole point of these stories. It isn't about WHO is right. It's about doing what's right.
APE SHALL NOT KILL APE
Watch the fourth film King of the Planet of the Apes the humans there are out to get them selves back as the apex predator
Neighbor bad. Petoria goooood. Annex Joe’s pool.
Both Koba and the Coronel were right. That's what's facunating of these movies. Everyone, including the antagonist were right.
Thanks for the amazing video
Thanks to Ryan, Harriet, Randolf and Lee! 🦧
Not sure if fighting to survive means "'we suck" nonsense
“We” are not “afraid of the unknown” …you are. “We” don’t do that type of shit without the merit to do so.
Terrific analysis. Thanks.
0:44 Koba and Caesar were NOT friends in the first movie.
He definitely let’s Koba Kill Jacobs at the end, on the bridge scene
You must’ve seen the comment I posted on a Dawn reaction video last week because I wrote everything you said here. Can’t be a coincidence.
Trust bro nobody looks at your comments
@@DivineEnclave22 Except you, right? 🤡 I was clearly joking and being facetious.
@traydevon that was not clear at all. Your first comment looks and sounds 100% serious and sincere. I read it was like wtf?
@@lup1up Why would it be serious? The odds of him seeing a random comment I posted on a video done by another channel are OBVIOUSLY low, so you should've assumed it was joking, by default. 🤦♂
@traydevon as they say, assumptions make an ass out of u and me. So I tend not to assume anything, especially on the internet where who knows wtf ppl are thinking. I've seen enough odd behavior to justify reading ur type of comment for what it is and not read between the lines.
Dark Forest. Always.
HUMAN WORK? HUMAN WORK!
Ok so you never even talked about Kingdom of the planet of the apes…
Apes are strong together, but the series is not strong with a girl boss Whitcher.
I dig it.
Ryan could teach this subject at any university. Also Koba and Ryan are both right.
