One of the tanks that has a pen that works in +2 mm. And not just the top two guns but also the smaller gun options are fun if you are willing to pay to play.
Dunno about these tanks after they got buffed, but back then the 212mm pen gun was not the best option on the AMX 45. The lower pen gun was just better in most other aspects and still had enough penetration. Yet almost everyone used the 212 gun.
I believe it was the same deal with the ARL, though ofc there is the p2w gun still
the arl 44 is the best turreted tank destroyer at tier six in my opinion. it is the only tank i could get two marks in, and i love this baguette launching wonder machine with all my heart
also: my best battle in this tank was 3800 dmg, which for an under average player like me is huge

@@BukitMan until 1950 october 26th, yes, it was a heavy tank, but on that day it was reclassified as a tank destroyer
also, the 90mm gun in wot is as good penetrationwise as the highest pen tank destroyers at tier six, and can compete with tier seven tds too

Before the HD model this thing had a pretty good UFP that I would use to troll those smooth brain kv1s drivers shooting gold, I'd come in at an angle only showing front plate and a track and they'd either bounce or just do tracking dmg lol great times and was actually pretty effective in a platoon
Skillman, after watching your four games in the ARL 44 I’m still convinced it’s best left in my past.
Late to the party, but I gotta say I really appreciate it when you show the games where you make mistakes and get farmed. As an average player (on a good day), it gives me hope that my great days will become more common, and that even amazing players can have bad games. Keep up the great content, Skill!

The pay to win gun is nice at close distance, but oh boy oh boy you cant hit a barn at long range.

Just boosting the algorithm. I really love thid extra channel! It felt so bad when I was a new player trying to find content on the tanks I was actually playing so I assume lots of people really appreciate it!

That gun is MENTAL at T6, I had a blast way back grinding the French heavy line. Apart from the one immediately following this......🤮
For me it was the M4 45, i don't know why i but i did so well in that thing. Got 3k+ multiple times.

@@TheNarwhal784Pros: Turret is troll(ish), gun is accurate and has pretty good pen, good gun depression.
Cons: Hull is paper, it's not very mobile, it's pretty huge, arty does a lot of damage to it and the crew dies often.
Overral you don't even dream about playing it like a heavy, you instead sit behind people watching the enemies at max zoom out for an opportunity to hit them when they fire, against lower tiers you use your more or less trollish turret when hull down by moving back and forth, and stopping to quickly shoot. Equipment wise you use rammer, vertical stabs, and for the third option you choose either vents of improved rotation mechanism for even less disperson when moving.

This tank and the bathtub are just utterly insane with this gun. From the top of my head I can't tell if some other tanks also have it as a viable option...maybe the t6 french TD but imo having it on the bathtub one tier lower is so much better.

A sad day when day removed the 105mm gun from the bathtub. I just stopped playing it.
I had no idea they removed the gun from the bathtub. That is truly sad.
The bad gun handling of ARL drove me mad. Also the rewards speed is so low that I used turbo🤯. This problem is seen in battle 2 and 3. In battle 3 Skill said the bad / loose base has no option. This is not correct if you on the railway line just behind the building in middle you can counter Skills position.
This tank looks fun, as a t150 enjoyer myself, i should try this angry little french. Those 300-something alfas in t6 are insane.
doesn't the previous gun (240/175) has better dpm than this one? (but lower accuracy) i remember having only playe with this gun and it worked really well for me, (a f2p) because at t6 the pen is reasonable and with a little aiming you can deal with t7/8 while still having amazing dpm. still, i am glad you gave ARl44 some love, it deserves it
it does but the difference is not that big so the extra pen is better
I used the F3 gun on this when playing it, the pen can be fixed with gold, but the extra DPM and certainly the MUCH better gun handling made it much nicer to play.
i feel like the other 90mm F3 is also effective. better dpm and gun handling, lower pen but still 230+ with gold.
Its the gun I use. Good enough for tier 6/7, but with way better gun handling as the longer 90mm. You are boned at tier 8 no matter what gun you use anyway, might as wel have the most comfortable gun when you do get lucky with MM.

The ARL 44 can kick ass at times. As long you’re in the right place at the right time.
I think F3 gun is also okay option, 170mm ap, 248 apcr, better dpm, and less turret rotation dispersion
I thought that T150 was a baboon, it looked like his outline had his gun raised.

What kills the 90mm gun for me is that long reload. It's almost as long as on the 105mm one, but you have 60 (or 90) less alpha. I go with the bigger gun by default, as you can trade so much better with it, and it has the same pen as the Soviet 122mm guns one tier higher, while still being more accurate in my experience. I have a lot of good memeories from my time grinding thoguht the ARL with that gun, and I always try not to spam gold, even with a gun like this that gives you even more advatages for doing so than nromal...
You can get it to about 6.7 seconds, which compared to around 11+ is a big difference

I recommend for all to use 105mm instead 90 (i believe its 90). DPM on gold with 105mm gun is outstanding. U can get like 2500 dpm on VI TIER HEAVY TANK. LIKE WHAT?! I have 17 battles so far and 5k wn8 on avarage. And not all battles were close to 1k even. Since ive researched 105mm gun and loaded gold - 2,3,4k per battle even on VIII tiers.
Some good guns available in frenchies at tier 5 and 6 :) But platform can be vulnerable.
In short:God guns pen/accuraci and bad other things.

I like to play with 90 mm dca 30 it has weak penetration but gun handling is better on other gun
90mm is the most versatile and dependable

I'd usually kill the KV's because I can spit out 3 rounds per their 1.

Just like the BDR, the ARL is one of the most underrated tanks in the game.
From all the tanks I have of the tier it's the one I have always done the best with, it was also the first one I got not really knowing its power.
The aim time seems horrible tho, I missed quite many shots, bcz snap shotting is hard and it doesn't have great armour.
Why tier V BDR G1 B has the same hp like ARL 44 ?
Best tier VI. Can duel tier VII and win at times.
We also like the low tier 3-4 pls Skill 😊

The 90mm is the better choice IMO, can work at bottem tier and at top tier, ARL is a great Heavy choice for strongholds as it will shred any tier 6 at any range
The versatility, yeah, I've had a few good games with 105mm, but have better averages and a more stable damage and kill game with 90mm.
Damn I think I like the pc version than the mobile I have no internet out here so I'm stuck with the mobile
I prefer to use the 3 gun on this tank, the top 90mm has just too shitty dpm

Playing HTs is worts 5,67,8 tier omg.
I think Skill's assessment of the pay-to-win gun is completely wrong. This gone is not pay-to-win unless you want it to be. The standard penetration on this gun is 175 which is almost best in tier. Only the Nashorn has higher standard penetration. The O-I matches the 175 pen and every other heavy has lower standard shell pen as do all mediums and lights and I am pretty sure TD's as well (checked most then got lazy). So at tier 6 pen of 175 is top of the tree and I believe you do not need to pay-to-win with this gun.

convenient no arty game. You know very well that 90% of t6 games will have 2/3 m44s on each side :)
I've found it very hard to move up to tier VII on this line, as this seems a sweet spot. Really like to play it, with many a Viva La France, and Allonzes.
I find the 240 pretty fine alpha for tier vi.
Pro tip:Dont be greedy Skill,iam sure killing O-NI and others can be better choice.

Maybe, when you rate a tank as "good", you can show more than a mediocre performance with that tank. Judging purely by the way you played, this tank is a pile of something.

Oh i had super battles with this perfect heavy tank and i'm not joking! i'm simply lying... 😂 Now for real i kinda disliked to play with it but when i got ''Ace Tanker'' on it i was super happy 😊 thee tier IV-V was sooooooo much better... (tier by tier - in my opinion) p.s. the (B1) and (BDR G1 B) is one of my favorite HT's... Even knowing the fact that i'm more in to the LT's and MT's... 🤪
This tank is a big pile of garbage, armor not reliable and only exist in the front, side "armor" is 30-50mm, even tier 1 could pen it, HE shells gonna shread it like nothing... useless tank
