Wayne Couzens didn't like being filmed. If police respect people's right to film them nobody will watch "audit" videos. It's that simple. As it is there are dozens of instances in the UK where "auditors" have recorded criminal behaviour by police.

The real scum are those who support these "auditors". I've more respect for the piece of excrement on the sole of my shoe than I do for people who subscribe to "auditor" channels.
Auditing developed as a consequence of photographers/journalists being abused by the police (mainly S44 TACT which resulted in the act being repealed) to some extent the police created the problem. There are good and bad auditors, understandably you are focussing on the bad ones who in my opinion are not really auditors and I agree with most of your sentiments. What "real auditors" want is no reaction and minimal interaction and an end for the need to “audit”. I’d like to hear your views on the genuinely civil rights motivated people such as “Focus Pocus”. As an aside the NPCC guidance is clear on how to deal with auditors but, for whatever reason many officers ignore it or have not read it.
And the auditors who are now starting on the military bases??? Presumably because police are not reacting anymore so they haven't got content for their channels and have no revenue any more

If a cop knows his or her bread and butter laws there shouldn't be a problem being filmed. However, having watched some auditors it's apparent that many cops either don't know these laws, or choose to abuse the law. The Terrorism Act, PACE and Public Order Act seem to be the most abused Acts. So Ben, if you know the basics of the law, you shouldn't have a problem. Just be respectful and if you see the auditor isn't breaking the law, move on and leave them to their filming.
Auditors are testing the law, to ensure that our rights are maintained. Cameras are useful for holding the police to account. Ben says the police don’t cover stuff up. The data suggests quite the opposite.
@@rawgoldgaming I think your overestimating how much people make from RUclips. People have a right to fill in public. The police should be filmed, and they should have body cameras themselves. The police have historically got away with far more they should have done. Cameras help fold them to account and e sure they’re not abusing the law.
Haha Ben should be a stand up comic as that is the biggest joke I have heard in years. I recently visited my home City from my home overseas and with a foreign licence plate. I was stopped by police for no reason other than the licence plate. This cop had the nerve to ask me what I was doing in the City. I explained I was born there and that my father had the George Cross and a Kings Commendation for bravery among many other medals that he got when he left this City with 4,000 men to go to war in WWII. He got caught in The Siege of Tobruk for 9 months and only 32 came out alive. I explained he had not been born then and that I had walked these streets for at least 30 years before he was even born! He went off with his tail between his legs and I continued to my family home.
So explain why these Auditors have attitude problems? Why are they going after non police and try to rile them up? These are nothing but professional trolls to try to antagonise so they can sue them.
I don't like most auditors approach, but there are some I think that do a genuinely good job and that stay respectful, unfortunately the police aren't always the same
100% agree, many are the lowest of the low and are just crims with a grudge against the police, i might be vicious if i come across some of the PC's that are assholes but i genuinely would much rather have a positive encounter.
I have mixed reviews on this. For at first I had the same views as most people in these comments, that it’s a 🔔 with a camera. But after seeing a lot of these videos posted on RUclips, it has changed my views massively! Watching police officers using unnecessary force, abusing laws which are meant to keep us safe. Countless times I have seen PO’s using the terrorism search law, which was a law designed for something totally different. It’s exposed the shear lack of training within the police force, police training now is built around learning ethics and inclusive workplace, instead of learning the laws of the U.K.
I come from 6 years policing in South Africa, and I'm nervous to join the UK police because they are so strictly governed to the point they can barely do their job. They have body cam footage that records everything that they do (good), and is subject to intense investigation upon every incident (good). However a very good, fair PC has been up for 2 disciplinary actions for simply raising his voice too loudly - and putting a girl on the floor (literally just retraining her) because she attacked the officers with a knife while they were arresting her boyfriend for murder. By all means the public can scrutinise, but let them do a few nights ridealong first.
What if we went to have a look around the station to see if there are any faults / health and safety concerns and provide a virtual tour experience to the viewers who genuinely find police stations interesting. I ask if it’s unmarked or personal so I can edit it out 👍

An auditor is simply an interactive CCTV. It is always the police's choice to offer a reaction, or not. The police should realise they are the ones who promoted CCTV culture in the first place.
I’ve watched auditing videos for several years, initially just American ones (and not in my dressing gown! 😉) I find them interesting because they juxtapose public authorities with the public’s rights. There are such a variety of auditors with equally varied motives. I personally prefer the passive, responsible auditors that seem to have rights and freedoms as their motivation. There are others that are in it for the drama, notoriety, and money - but they become obvious. It’s a shame officers like this chap don’t see the other side of auditing and have simply concluded that their only motivation is to ‘wind up coppers’. This is an unfair generalisation of the varied auditing community. There is another consideration he misses: police are a public service that we all pay for with no way of holding them accountable for poor behaviours and performance. Police are always going to be a focus on the very nature that they personify the governmental “authority”. Auditors have exposed some very poor policing behaviours in the past: a little public accountability to keep the authorities in check isn’t any harm at all. The shoe is very often on the other end of the foot with police recording the public and intruding on their privacy - they have to expect a similar response. The example the officer gave of someone following him home was chilling, but completely unrelated to auditing at all. The funny thing is, even though auditing has been a thing for so long, the penny still hasn’t dropped. If they ignored auditors, and didn’t engage - there would be really boring content, and people would stop watching. They have the power to stop it, but often individual officers ego won’t let them. 🤷♂️
They don’t make a lot of money. What they build their channel by being rude, obnoxious ect. an it’s like entertainment whic people all over the world love. So to go all over the place, state to state, they sale things but don’t make much on that so they, beg. Things I can’t make any new videos because I have to take off work then I have expenses so if you want more you can maybe make a small donation 2, 3, 5 dollars that would be great. They can ask for a small donation, in the end because they have a large number of subscribers, say like 36,000, if they get 1/4 of those, 9,000, to donate 2 dollars, that’s $18,000.00 dollars. The donation isn’t much but those who like and subscribe will give that, if they gave just a dollar that’s $9,000.00. If they got that every month, 12x9,000.00 = over 100,000.00, $108,000.00, and it’s tax free. Well you say people aren’t that stupid to give that much money, it’s $12.00 for one year and he will put out video’s to entertain them and they will continue to give $12.00. Can they count on that, no they don’t, here’s the kicker for donations. People all over the globe will donate money regularly. This example was on one of those investigator’s show and they interviewed a man from Australia who gave only $10.00 one month but wrote a letter apologizing because he could only give ten dollars, but he told him he usually donated $30.00 a month so next month he was sending $50.00 to make up for the twenty he couldn’t pay this month. How many people out of 36,000 is going to donate something between say 1 to 20 dollars? Let’s use 1/4th again, 9,000, if those 9,000 subscribers give $10.00, that’ $90,000. Let’s say they give only 1/4 of $20.00, $5.00. 5 times 9,000 is $45,000.00, tax free. For one year at $5.00 a month is $60.00 for the year, is $540,000.00, over half million. Now here’s the spoiler for all that figuring, how much will the other 27,000 viewers going to give. Now you see why they quit their jobs and are able to fly to a new state ever two or three days.

Coventry Police were also racist in the 70's and 80's Coventry had their share of corrupt Detectives also. All of the afore mentioned topics were before the days of P.A.C.E. It's now the public's turn to the turn tables on the Police and make then more accountable for their past illegal actions. You should watch one auditor vid from the US. He's in the police car park filming, and the stereotype sheriff walks out, big hat, gun, tache and all. Sheriff says good morning and asks him if he's filming cars. Auditor says yes. Sheriff asks if he'd like to come around the back to see their new cars, and has a conversation. Gets a good idea of what the guy is doing without out once being a poundshop Judge Dredd. Sheriff suggests couple of nice places to eat in his town and wishes him well. Auditor leaves. Sheriff gets far more from that interaction than all the 'I am the law' dickwads commonly shown.
I was expecting someone a bit more balanced and professional, hard to believe this guy was an Inspector or maybe it isn't in the light of recent events.
I noticed there was contradictory information i.e. running down auditors because only 60 people view their video and they're insignificant, then later saying they get 100k views and create a lot of exposure. He mentioned 05 plate vehicles following him home, so happened way before auditing. The auditor doesn't publicise the route home, or personal address of the officer. If someone had a big grudge they would likely wait around and see the VRN themselves without needing a video. He runs down auditors for just knowing 1 piece of legislation but doesn't acknowledge that many pieces of legislation are often quoted in audits along with officer conduct and adherence to codes of practice. He seemed to have a bullying approach to discussing this topic and it felt very biased against auditors without balance. (The point about how their footage helps him wasn't balance, that was him trying to make out that all they do is help him so they should give up).
@Kevin Keane he's speaking his opinion, but he comes across as very bias and unbalanced IMO. Auditors have objectively improved policing (photography laws, terrorism act usage, stop and search, policies on body worns, reasonable grounds necessity, SAR, PCSO designation card requirement, knife amnesty bin safety, waiting for controlled vehicle gate to close before leaving to prevent tailgating etc etc) If auditors were able to test how crimes are dealt with by officers without actually committing a crime elsewhere it would raise standards elsewhere too. Being a police officer is an incredibly difficult job and the rules are constantly changing. The situations they have to deal with are awful and would give anyone trauma/mental health issues, the public as a whole highly respects them. Many of ABs viewers are actually police officer's and watching his videos in an entertaining, but educational format has allowed thousands of officers to improve their practice whilst having fun at the same time. ^ that's just my opinion at this time, I respect your view too.

However there’s 2 sides to every story and he fails to mention the other side. These Auditors are only fishing for a reaction and unfortunately there’s some police officers out there who’s ego makes the police look bad, those bad police officers just can’t let it go and always have to get the last word in or they go off on a power trip. Usually these auditors are doing it because they’ve had a bad experience with some police officers. The best thing the police could do is not talk to these auditors and then the auditor wouldn’t have any footage. If there really is a security risk (because when was the last time there was a terrorist attack on a police station) then they wouldn’t make these police stations easily accessible and easily viewed. They’d be a big wall around those police stations. The car that followed him home doesn’t need to film him to follow him. Anyone can stand outside a police station WITHOUT a camera and watch who comes in and out, having a camera is irrelevant. And some people make a lot of money from RUclips.

To summarise, I think this auditors are helping the situation here because they are showing the police hierarchy flaws in there training and why the public are not onside with them. As a professional film maker I’ve seen auditing videos and have mixed views on the subject. I think it’s right that auditors are challenged outside police stations. Auditors when challenged should be open and engaging about what they are doing and that they are not showing private vehicle plates etc . One the other side I’ve seen footage where auditors have shown memos regarding auditing from the Association of chief police officers to concerned officers and making it quite clear of their purpose filming . These officers have then escalated the interaction using anti terror laws and public order for no valid reason . Some common sense on both sides would be appreciated. I would also recommend both the public and police video all interactions for mutual protection.
As an auditor and someone who is interested in filmmaking and photography, I would agree with that, however police stations shouldn’t be off limits to filming, lots of people like to see different marked vehicles as well, even small children and places like Scotland Yard are famous and people want to get a photo or a video there as part of a travel vlog, some people get challenged just walking down the street as you mentioned, and why should we give out our name, address and phone number, I’m happy to be on first name terms with most officers who are polite and approachable, but I feel they don’t deserve anything from me if they are rude and aggressive and go down the route of terrorism
1. Number plates are not private. Why do you think we have them? 2. Unless you have access to the DVLA, then there is no personal details you can gather from number plates.
Flower Of Scotland that’s true but in terms of NPTs and officers who live locally and locals who often see the officers vehicles they could recognise officers vehicles from observing them whether that be keeping an eye on the police station or watching a video

@@BenPearson1965 you are truly stupid have a look how many officers in the met are suspended under investigation..i shudder to think of the abuse handed out by police ib the 60s and 70s
Please tell the truth. At Kidderminster the AB auditor channel recorded policewomen who arrested a man who was just walking on public access land and incarcerated him for five hours. The reasons the officers gave, were 1) causing alarm and distress - FALSE, 2) suspicion under the Terrorism act - FALSE, and 3) breaking the "RRR Policing Laws - NO SUCH LAW. Inside they gave him an out of date copy of PACE - BREACH IF HIS RIGHTS. Later, another member of the public wanted to make a counter complaint and was refused - AGAINST IOPC ADVICE. In the process the police appear to have committed the criminal and other offences of: denial of two rights, assault, battery, breach of GDPR and unlawful detention. Those are four or five crimes by more than one officer which create a legitimate suspicion in the minds of the public that the police there are lawless. This means anyone now has a lawful reason to treat police from there as suspect and to film every interaction for their own safety. The result, Kidderminster became a magnet for auditors and public complaints which increased the likelihood of police being followed and all the things that you are not happy about!. West Mercia issued an apology and the Chief Superintendent spoke in public about it. And the result of this auditing: police at Kidderminster are more polite, more respectful and have ceased abusing the public's rights around the station. Proof positive the auditors provide a public service and you are talking absolute nonsense.
I don't like sticking up for the police but they are human beings at their job, and someone's dad or mom or daughter or son, and for someone to walk up to them with a camera on their face live on Facebook with a bullying and hateful vibe , demanding their name for everyone to see on Facebook and then insulting them and saying stuff like you are dismissed, they are bullies and the people who like them are the kind of people who like seeing people being treated badly, I watched one today and he went to an office block security team and started calling one of the female workers fat and ugly with his camera pointing at her, and then some passers-by punched him, and then he started screaming for the police, I wasn't surprised, all bullies are weak really
Unfortunately this is a deliberate misconception that the police and ignorant individuals like to portray to everyone. It's not true. In the hundreds if not thousands of auditor videos that are on RUclips alone, every single one shows the auditor is approached by the police. The police chose to approach and interact. That is the point, the auditor knows the rules, and the legislation surrounding public photography, and filming in a public place, the issue has arisen from, and stems from as a result, decades of photographers been harassed, by police, illegally detained, illegally searched, and alot of the time illegally arrested, whilst having their details illegally gain by officers through the manipulation of the laws and legislations entrusted to them to Ironically enforce and protect the general public. Auditors don't just audit police stations either, they go around filming industrial sites, shopping centres, towns, cities, military bases, police stations, post offices, etc Whilst standing in a public place, they can legally film anything and anyone they like, and can see from that public place. The issue isn't the auditors, the issue is the people who do not understand the legal right to film and take pictures in public. This is also a very common practice now, and it is about time the police and others were educated. Father memos were sent to every police force in the country basically forbidding them to approach public photographers or people filming, they still insist on going against that, and harassing people.
Kinda their fault for baiting encounters by maliciously taking pictures of federal buildings and the people who take pictures of police cars yeah it might be legal but it’s also sus as hell I mean if the police took a picture of your car on your work place you’d have a problem with it
Yes. There are good and bad auditors as well as tyrannical cops who abuse their power and great cops who honor their badge and their oath. Transparency is fundamental to the health of society and an antidote to tyranny, good police officers and public servants don't have to fear auditors with cameras in their hands!
And the audits that take place in charity shops, at fire stations, job centres, libraries, supermarkets, distribution warehouses, power stations etc, etc? This is nothing to do with 'rights' it is pure unadulterated incitement for content. Let's go and stick a camera in some working person's face and then revel in their uncomfortable reaction. Auditing is a foul practice.
@@taIlboyandy23 All are recorded by cameras in the same way, whether we like it or not, there are cameras everywhere. It doesn't make sense for people to be uncomfortable just because they're seeing a guy with a camera. Especially where there are public services, it is important for auditors to check the behavior of public officials to see if they are respecting the privacy of people's personal information. There are a lot of untrained employees who leave citizens' personal information in public view and exposing this problem brings the solution. If the auditor is not harassing and committing any crime, I don't see the problem.
@@mauricio6614 I Think one thing to note is videos without context can cause issues. like if there is a video of a cop taking down someone in a rough way some might say its excessive force - but did the video see earlier in the chase when they violently resisted arrest. I’ve got a question. Let’s say a normal member of the public is getting followed by an unknown car while they are driving home. Are they allowed to go through red lights and speed as long as they call 999 and explain the situation? Or if you did and a speed or red light camera caught you and you explained the situation. Would you be let off or not?
I wouldn’t recommend blasting through red lights, but if it’s necessary, and justified, you may well get away with it. Dashcams front and rear may help your case, but for the love of god stay safe as you can. You barrel through a red & total your car you’ve defeated the object

Firstly, I’m no fan of auditors and I’ve nothing against the police. I love the way auditors don’t like it when someone films them. But one thing that the police need to sort out is that just because someone doesn’t have a job it doesn’t make them a bad person or in any way reflect on their personality. The way police regularly ask things like “have you got a job” is unacceptable unconscious bias. It needs to stop.
I've been filmed doing my job and it really affected me. I'm a doorman, I was on a venue one weekend, few lads left having a few heated words then this lad went running over to this guy half his size, I tried to run to stop him but he connected with him just as I got there. Restrained this lad on the floor and next thing is some random member of the public came over filming screaming how I was bullying a young lad. Nobody had filmed this lad decking a guy half his size or me running down the street to try and stop it (which we're not meant to do, we're not covered if we are off the premises). Video goes viral in my local area (I've never looked at it since it passed about 20k views) The main thing that got to me was the comments saying how I need shooting, I was high on drugs, lets arrange a load of boys to go and sort him out.. all for trying to do the best I'm my job. There was cctv showing the full incident that would of shown the truth but obviously it can't be released. Even had to help the police arrest the guy later on yet that one video almost made me quit. I got into the job to help people and was a real kick in the teeth to be portrayed in that light due to half a video.
Completely agree they film what they want and edit it how they see fit. I was filmed by a local auditor who came inside a secure area and he filmed over a few hours with a few different officers and he edited very cleverly to look like we were some how at fault, overnight your on you tube viewed many times by people who do not care for your safety and have witch-hunt mentality about them.
Agreed. It should be against the law to publish people on the internet. Recording is one thing - but publishing that to social media and making someone’s face go viral is just wrong. Hope you are keeping okay.
They go to stations claiming its a matter of public interest but then proceed to not film any part of the station but instead purposely film people's vehicles whether they are parked or moving. I thought it was the station that was a matter of public interest? Why the registrations? Oh wait its because they know they will get a rise and a reaction.
@Keith Barry So why then make an effort to film them other than to provoke a reaction. Who in their right mind would set out in the morning to start filming registration numbers in police car parks
You mentioned at the end words to the effect of "if you see a bobby getting had by a few lads, help them out". What exactly do you mean by this? If Joe public were to get involved in a fight, restraining etc what would be the legal repercussions? For example, if I saw somebody with a weapon pointed at a bobby, or a bobby getting stomped on by three guys and I sneaked up behind them and put them in a choke hold or hit them round the head, what would happen to me?

It would be good to know what Joe public can and cannot legally do. Although I'm sure it's not a black and white answer.
@@geoffygeoff9391 As you say nothing is black and white but in terms of powers to prevent a crime that is currently being committed, the police and members of the public have very similar powers, the only difference being that police officers can also use the same powers for crimes that have already been committed and that are about to be committed while the public does not. As for what extent you can go to, it would essentially come down to the amount of force that the average member of the public would deem to be reasonable, hence why a jury made up of members of the public makes that decision in court. If you can justify your actions based on the threat you perceived and other members of the public would agree that's reasonable, then you are perfectly safe. That of course doesn't necessarily mean you won't get called to court but I suppose the question would be would you rather let another human being get potentially seriously injured just so you don't have to go to court to explain why you helped.
Time for the police to start showing respect for the public. The police are getting better, but there are still some idiots who think they can bully and assault the public for not bowing to their self perceived authority, when their actual authority is not permitted to be used.
What really gets me is when people video ambulance crews with an injured or vulnerable person. It's just wrong, especially when their in a life-threatening situation. Imagine your mum or dad was trapped in a mangled car wreck with firefighters and paramedics trying to get them out and a bunch of bystanders were videoing what is likely the worst day of that patient's life, just for views on Facebook or TikTok. People need to show some decency.
I had a young girl (under 18) once who had drunk herself to oblivion and collapsed in a Costa shop in the middle of a large town during an event, we had about 40 kids surrounding the windows all filming us and the girl unconscious. It's a real problem and people really need to sort themselves out.
When my dad got knocked over by a car at 40 mph and nearly died, my one regret was not taking enough photos and videos of the situation. The police did an awful job at investigating what happened so those photos and videos could’ve really helped my dad when it went to court.

He's right. These self appointed 'auditors' with their arrogant air of entitlement, are not the brightest buttons in the box, despite yelling that they know their 'wites'. Their sole goal is to provoke arguments with the added hope of an 'assault'. Why are new laws not being introduced to prohibit loitering around police stations, prisons & businesses harassing staff with filming equipment? Anyone confronted by these time wasters should simply play copyrighted music on their mobiles making uploading the clip a waste of time as You Tube would censor the audio making the clip boring to watch. Although the police might not be able to do this, they need to apply whatever laws are available to stop themselves being goaded into the desired situations that these muppets are aiming for.
I was harassed by my local police force. The same Two police officers were always the culprits after a family issue with the police (wasnt criminal related) and i wish I had recorded it to get something done about it. I think a lot of citizen journalism has helped prove wrong doings. But there should be rules In Place where the person recording should state they’re recording, not get in the way unless (particularly in america) someone is in danger and they should at least remain respectful so long as the police do. If your pals getting locked up for having a boot load of green, don’t record and post on Facebook saying the police are arresting him for no reason. Plus context often gets missed out, where police may use force but the part where the offender attacked an officer is missed out. It’s easy to manipulate on both sides. Recording is totally fine as long as you don’t act like a twatwagon getting all bbc reporter with your iPhone
There is something in place saying that the police should state that they are recording yet many fail to follow such a simple step but I bet they would be the first to jump on a member of public for doing that if there was something meaning they had to inform others.

Luckily the judge had a meltdown when he heard the case, released my brother and ordered the two cops arrested an charged for the home invasion. My brother was just an ordinary hard working man with a family and these cops went from top of his road to the bottom smashing car windows and then for some reason knocked his door, knocked his 7 month pregnant wife to the floor and barged in the house. I bet they spent many years regretting they knocked his door that night. I only live around the corner and my sister in law called me. By the time I got there one guy was hobbling up the road with blood pouring from his mouth crying and screaming that he had no teeth left. I think it's a great way to weed out and expose the corrupt officers such as Dean Gittoes who assaulted a 16 year old just because he wouldn't give his name when asked. It's also nice to see the officers that are carrying out their duty respectfully when engaging with auditors. There is also good and bad auditors as well as cops. Ultimately the police should know how to handle any situation within the boundaries of the law so I feel no sympathy for any officer that gets aggressive, rude and breaks laws to stop anyone auditing, good or bad.
Genuine question Ben - if coppers are so worried about people seeing their private cars at the station (often behind see through gates/fences), why do they park there? Why not park else where and walk to the station? There are a couple of times that I wished I had a camera with me when dealing with the Police and PCSO.. The first was a PCSO cycling along an allyway that had a NO CYCLING sign either end, I stopped her and pointed out that the youngsters see her doing it and think sod it she can do it... She told me she was allowed to ignore the signs if it was safe to do so and asked for my name, DOB and address, a tactic I feel was aimed at intimidating me, I declined unless she was planning to send me a birthday card.. I went straight to the nearby Police Station and reported the lass. Must have worked as they now push their bikes through the alleys... The other time was when my wife whilst driving witnessed a messy RTC, she phoned me all upset and said she felt she could not drive any further that day due to shock, I walked about a mile to the scene to find her, to be met with a shouting copper telling people to go away - which I can understand, but when I tried to tell him I was looking for my wife who was quite upset after witnessing the RTC he told me he was not there to help people and to go away, then when he noticed I was looking for his shoulder number he pushed his shoulders back to make it difficult to get the numbers.. A passer by asked if I was looking for the lady in the blue Renault and if so she was in a nearby house.. I thought about what had happened and phoned the force Professional Standards dept, they had the area Traffic Inspector phone me to arrange a meeting. He wanted me to travel 20 odd miles to a Police Station although I live 150yds from a main Police Station, so I declined and said I would contact their Professional Standards again... He then said my local station would be fine.. At the meeting the Inspector said that he had been at the RTC scene and what I was telling him was a load of rubbish... I told him he was not there - only the stroppy copper. He then admitted he was not there but was testing my story.. I had a letter from Profession Standards a month or so later to say my complaint had been dealt with and the officer disciplined..

I think there’s a big difference between filming an interaction with police when it occurs within the course of normal, everyday life, and sitting outside a police station in the wee hours, waiting to follow an officer back to their private residence. The first is perfectly within your rights and helps to ensure public safety and police accountability. It’s, no doubt, frustrating for some officers to feel like their every interaction is being scrutinized by potential bad-faith actors, but it’s part of the job and is a result of the lack of transparency and accountability that the public perceives when it comes to policing. Fewer high-profile police-involved incidents and better, safer interactions between the public and police should be a common goal of both legitimate auditors and any good law enforcement officer. The second type of auditor is frightening, unhinged, and deliberately antagonistic. These people are misguided at best, and at worst trying to provoke a potentially dangerous conflict. These people do nothing to encourage lawful and peaceful interactions between the police and the public and harm their own cause. Having experiences like you describe in this video would, I’m sure, make it very difficult not to react to someone shoving a camera in your face while you’re performing your routine duties, and I’m certainly not condoning the actions of those who deliberately antagonize the police for executing their duties in keeping with the proper processes and procedures. I do, however, think that police should recognize that the way in which certain law enforcement entities have traditionally operated has given rise to auditing as a widespread phenomenon. The average officer isn’t out there committing misconduct and abusing their authority, but they do operate within a system that includes law enforcement officers and officials who do abuse their positions. As public officials, law enforcement should be accountable to the public, but has often seemed to eschew that responsibility in favour of protecting their own. With great power comes great responsibility, etc, etc.
I don’t sit in my dressing gown w@*kng all day long. Maybe a few times a month 😂 . I train twice a day. MMA and etc. Have a life. and I love watching auditors. There not their to stick their noses in, they are there to defend the public's rights. What you have seen, like 2 audit videos, one of them was not official, it was probably just criminals. It is for the good of the country and the police force. If they cant do simple jobs, like not take away peoples rights, following protocols e.t.c. thrn how are they good at there job when it comes to the big things?
I agree these auditors should not try and get a reaction, however when they are just going about lawful activities and getting stopped by police who demand their details, then misuse powers to try and gain details (such as the terrorism act) I believe the auditor is providing a kind of service and it doesn't show police officers in a good light. You can guarantee those officers are rarely reprimanded!

I couldn't agree with you more.
Auditors have never killed any one but the police have many times by mistake and this officers attitude is the problem that’s why it’s like it is 👍
Definitely
I come from 6 years policing in South Africa, and I'm nervous to join the UK police because they are so strictly governed to the point they can barely do their job. They have body cam footage that records everything that they do (good), and is subject to intense investigation upon every incident (good). However a very good, fair PC has been up for 2 disciplinary actions for simply raising his voice too loudly - and putting a girl on the floor (literally just retraining her) because she attacked the officers with a knife while they were arresting her boyfriend for murder.
By all means the public can scrutinise, but let them do a few nights ridealong first.

Yeah, because the police have a policy to identify themselves 🤔
1. Policy changes from force to force
2. Normally police in the uk do not have to give a name unless they initiate contact with you.
3. He also said that the officer was on their way into work, therefore they are not on duty and do not have to identify themselves regardless.
Every force without a doubt says if the officer is in uniform if they are involved with the person or not they must identify
@@lockdowneunos502 Then the police person should not have come into contact/addressed with the member of the public
@@lockdowneunos502 if they don't identify they can take a hike, if you aren't a policeman then tough luck doing anything, the only way to confirm you are an authority of ANY kind is to identify yourself.
@Yip Yip I’m going to copy the same response to you all. “Identifying” in the uk means that a police officer must give you his or her collar number, their name however is not obliged.
An auditor is simply an interactive CCTV. It is always the police's choice to offer a reaction, or not. The police should realise they are the ones who promoted CCTV culture in the first place.
Oh I think it was George Orwell who did that. 😁
I’ve watched auditing videos for several years, initially just American ones (and not in my dressing gown! 😉)
I find them interesting because they juxtapose public authorities with the public’s rights.

Auditors have objectively improved policing (photography laws, terrorism act usage, stop and search, policies on body worns, reasonable grounds necessity, SAR, PCSO designation card requirement, knife amnesty bin safety, waiting for controlled vehicle gate to close before leaving to prevent tailgating etc etc)
If auditors were able to test how crimes are dealt with by officers without actually committing a crime elsewhere it would raise standards elsewhere too.

@@TheGwentAuditorTGA Yea, but it doesn't really matter. As you will know, the police have no rights to tell you what you can & cannot film in public, that includes number plates. Their paranoia is not the public's problem.

the best way to deal with it is to follow their own guidelines (the memo first went out in 2010 and again in 2015) and do their job properly.
guess if some police people didn't break the law, these people with cameras wouldn't be out there filming you
Please tell the truth.
Auditors don't just audit police stations either, they go around filming industrial sites, shopping centres, towns, cities, military bases, police stations, post offices, etc
Whilst standing in a public place, they can legally film anything and anyone they like, and can see from that public place.

With great power comes great responsibility, etc, etc.
you sound like a cop lol
Auditors never follow officers back to their residence - that is just lies.
I don’t sit in my dressing gown w@*kng all day long. Maybe a few times a month 😂 . I train twice a day. MMA and etc. Have a life. and I love watching auditors. The police have brought all this on to themselves. For how they behave and treat the public. I appreciate and thank you for your service keeping the public safe Ben. I’ve got so much respect for law enforcement. They do a great job protecting people. But there’s a huge quantity of people who join the force to manipulate a lot of things. And are ego driven narcissistic people
I don’t like most auditors apart from auditing Britain he’s quality
Watch audit Ed and focus pocus. They’re personally my favourite
AB filmed a woman having a mental episode the other day
Awful
@@mrbullock4267 which one was that?
Rights are like muscles. If you do not exercise them.... you lose them.
The TV station will edit the footage they have to make sure the Police are portrayed in the best possible light, and that is why we need most of these auditors. They, the Police have no problem filming people, and this just sounds to me like the spoiled whining of the playground. They are public servants operating in public supposedly working for the public. Pathetic.
D-minus response.
As you have brought up your wife, I'm really keen to meet her and find out what she really looks like. I'm going to do absolutely everything I can to find out who she is. Just to see if you are telling the truth.
If he brought up his wife, that means he married his daughter.
''If a policwman is getting his head kicked in by three lads, give him a hand.''
So wrong. I think three is enough.
Not sure why people are saying he didn't earn 40k as a constable when it's public knowledge that a police constable will achieve that Salary after 7 years service. Judging by the fella in the video I'd say he's old enough to have done 7 years.
He's being robbed..I drove a train for £48k from day one 🤣
@@Luton-Mick I'm unsure what your point is? People in the comments were saying that the police don't earn 40k, I was just correcting it.
Reminds me of being in class and you and your friend are trying so hard not to hit the giggles 😂😂😂😂😂
Just because you CAN do something Doesent mean you SHOULD do something.
Rights that are not execrcised regularly are lost
I agree these auditors should not try and get a reaction, however when they are just going about lawful activities and getting stopped by police who demand their details, then misuse powers to try and gain details (such as the terrorism act) I believe the auditor is providing a kind of service and it doesn't show police officers in a good light. You can guarantee those officers are rarely reprimanded!
Facts!!! 👍🏽
Police have a choice to approach auditors and engage, which 99% of the time they do and end up making themselves look stupid.
Wrong
@@jewbilant8546 you know I’m right lol just look at any auditing channel and you’ll see an entitled police officer making themselves look stupid.
@@ReevyMotovlogs wrong auditors are shit houses of society
I'm not a fan-boy who writes blank cheques for the fuzz. I could write a book about my bad experiences of bad policing. Even so, 'auditors' are self-important nerdy knobheads and probably not the sort of people with whom most of us would enjoy hanging out. Sad cases.
WE LOVE AUDITORS
a policeman walked over to a parked car and asked the driver if the car was licensed. "of course it is," said the driver. " great, I'll have a pint then," said the policeman.
Was the officer on duty?
I am a wife, a mother and a nana too. I work very hard in my life for what we have. Now and again I grab a coffee at home and have 20 minutes and do watch some of these UK auditors, (not in my dressing gown i might add). I have rights for a reason, and do not expect my rights to be taken from me for no reason. I do not agree when they are rude to our police there is just no need for it, they should just let the police know at once why they are there and what they are doing, then if the police start to bully shame on them. So I am not at home all day in my dressing gown fondling myself, and have never even had so much as a driving violation in my life. People from all walks of life do take an interest in this type of thing, as I have taken an interest in your freedom of speach too.Stay safe
Totally agree with you. And 100 percent I work my backside off and I watch auditors still bloody cheek,.
The same usual story from someone that has never faced adversity in their life. You have no idea how lucky you are, if you saw a day of real hard work you’d be in tears.
If anyone has problems with these, just play a copyrighted song, that way if the footage is uploaded, they will have to pay for the use of the music, spread the word,
