    I have to disagree the Jura 10 that I have is intense and as felt is full of flavour, I thought exactly the opposite to what you’ve said it is as being watery. A very big hit of flavours on the palette.
    Haven’t tried the other.

      After drinking too much whisky some people lose their senses....

    • @chrisfinbow7905
      @chrisfinbow7905 2 года назад

      @@M1guel7Dias yea don’t they just alcohol is subtle as it it leads people to deceive themselves believing they are tasting things when they are not really. It’s because alcohol is a highly addictive you see ? Why do you think that whisky tasters tend to enjoy whiskies that have higher abv claiming that they have more flavour ? Hard drinkers even enjoy the taste of meths, cocaine users love the taste of coke.
      Addiction to alcohol is in the majority of whisky tasting however subtle it may be.
      Besides I’m entitled to say I enjoy Jura without being insulted,taste is also subjective.

    I have the jura 10 and my take on it is
    Nose: sweet bourbonesk hints also sherry hints as well pear, raisin, black cherry, honey, dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel, marshmallow.
    Pallet: thin but prickly. pear, cherry, vanilla, pepper, light smoke. It has a sharpness to it.
    It needs a couple more years in wood and a little higher abv. 45% abv in a 12 year age with a little more smoke. Just a hint more smoke. That's what this whisky needs.

    Loved the pun on the sign board. Also, there was an immediately discernable difference in color between the two. Jeez. The new 10 looks like they chucked a tea bag in there for a bit. I keep reading and hearing the same message from reviewers, Jura would be better if... (que Ralfy mantra)... 46%, unchillfiltered, no caramel coloring. It's put me off from buying anything other than samples. I'm even hesitant to buy independent bottlings of the stuff. Interested to see what you think of the rest of the new range. Cheers, Vin!

    I agree with your assessment. The origin and the new 10 are very tame and a bit dull tbh. The new Seven Wood and the 18 are alright though there are better whiskies out there for the same price or cheaper.

    I has a similar experience with Jura. Enjoyed Superstition as the 2nd whisky I ever bought, then enjoyed the 10 but came back them 2 years later and there's practically nothing there. I suppose they're selling enough within the beginners/occasional drinkers market to make it worthwhile though so fair play to Jura!

    Sorry to disagree. For me, it´s a very good whisky. Just the right amount of alcohol, to drink it straight. On the nose, strong woody notes, as well as tobbaco and red fruits. On the palate, not too sweet, but a great taste which lasts long after you swallow it and doesn´t change the flavor in the after taste. tastes like it has been more time in the barrel. Definitely, a product worth buying.

    Unfortunately this brand disappoints me more & more, and I do not dig the recent rebranding because some of the bottlings had to be kept imho (esp. the 16 yo & the Prophecy) while ok others enhanced (such as the expensive 21 yo) , but it didn"t happen, instead more caramel added, more wood tech, and less enthousiastic stuff to drink...Seven Wood is to avoid, as the new 10 & Journey seem average....And I could say that for several DALMORE as well...What's going on with Richard ? I wonder....

      Probably, Vin, probably, also because they are often not too bad represented in medium to huge supermarkets here in France for instance... @@NoNonsenseWhisky My experience (checking it = 28 Jura tasted so far) is that indie Jura's tend to be barely recognizeable (unlike other distilleries) because they really come naked (non chill filtered , non coloured, "non adjusted to be average" as well) even the 30 yo I struggle to like it but this time because of my own taste ...the official 40 yo though (from around 10 years ago) is my favorite one so far

    i spotted half a dozen of the old 10 year old "origin" in lidl for about £23 the other day, temped to pick one up just to have it before it goes away completely. im slowly working may way thru a bottle of superstition with the old 16 year old "duriachs own" waiting in the wings then when thats gone i think i may be done with jura. i was hoping with the re-vamp last year they were changing their ways to try and keep up with the whiskies next door but sadly not. i have a vision in my head of richard paterson going full on psycho in the board room at a room full of suits who have refused to raise the abv as jura buyers might be put off by the higher strength. suppose at the end of the day its a business and money talks but i suspect whyte and mackay are one of the brands that would welcome a reduction to 35% abv by the powers that be so they can take full advantage and dilute their stuff even further so it sits nicely next to capatin morgans and southern comfort.
