I have the same car same year thanks for your videos great detail and easy to follow. I have a small leak in the front differential. Any suggestions on what it may be?
Can you get to the fill plug by just removing the passenger side wheel? I have a fluid extractor that I wanna use and don’t wanna remove the belly pan and cross bar.
Jeden z lepszych olejow przekładniowych uzywam go tez do skrzyni biegów zamiat oryginalu zf i powiem szczerze dużo lepszy od Ravenol , skrzynia dużo dłużej działa plynnie i miękko , w zf 6 hp Rowe 9006, w 8hp- 9008, i nawet dsg/stronic dct...polecam jakość uznana przez warsztaty specjalizujsce sie w tych sprawach pozdrawiam ❤
Hi, I have a question. I have a 2012 Audi A4 Quattro, and I was reading about differential fluid changes. Is there a center differential that is used with the model? Or is it only the front and rear? I saw people talking about it, but never could find an answer.
So I have a 2014 Audi B8.5 S5 6my - there is 3 different things to change the tranny/ differential oil on these cars? ( transmission, rear differential and a front differential?) or is the front differential the same as the transmission ? thank you
Hi, on the 6 Speed manual B8.5 S5 the transmission is the same fluid as the front differential, only the S-tronic DL501 has two different fluid specs for transmission and for front differential.
Isn’t the centre/front differential on the 6MT b8.5 integrated into the same case? Wouldn’t changing the trans fluid also service your front/centre diff? I didn’t think there was a separate fill/drain plug for front diff on the manual… am I mistaken?
Can the differential cause cabin vibration at idle, maybe if differential mounts are worn? I have new trans and motor mounts, still vibrates at on R & D while stopped, also get a subtle clunk from the front end while accelerating and decelerating on 2nd, and 3rd gear.
@@CarsandCoding transmission mount, and both motor mounts are new, still clunks and vibrates in D or R. The vibration was worse before I put the new motor mounts, it diminished a little after, but basically made no change after installing new trans mount, even tho the old one was basically eaten up!
Torque specs only truly matter on moving parts that have rubber bushings and gaskets with a rubber gasket. On something like a drain plug it’s typically hand tight. Correct me if im wrong someone
Only difference is my rear fill and drain plugs are much later than 8mm.. Ended up just using a t55 that fit just right. Front seems to be 8mm fill, 5mm drain (which is also more to the passenger end of the housing). 2009 S5

Sorry I am not sure about leaks, but you should fill it.

Good video got some questions
I have a4 1.8 t quattro automatic is this the same procedure and oil ?
Thanks in advance

Yes and I have a video for that within my transmission fluid change video! ruclips.net/video/IY_VRHlfJuQ/видео.html
Does 2012 A4 B8 manual have a front differential?
I cannot seem to locate it. I located the rear one.
I believe front/rear diff oil needs to be GL-5 rated, so don't use quite 'any' type.

@@rosendolopez2014 thank you! Made a huge difference- car feels much better

@@audis5512 yes it is the same as I am just finding out today after wanting to do it myself. One combined flush for 4.5 L of fluid
Anyone know if this is the same process for the 2018 model? Anything different or the same?

Installing a transmission mount insert may fix your clunk. But otherwise yes rear diff mounts can go bad!

Do you have drain plug and fill plug torque specs? Thanks! Your video super helpful!

Yes there were variations on the rear differential between a4 and s4 and other performance models. Thanks for watching!
B8 s5 here too. I'm about to tackle both diff any pointers?
So the differential oil is separate from the transmission oil?
Yes
FORM-A-FUNNEL to avoid making a mess without removing the brace.
Worst diff on the car for access.. trying to get the plug back in with greasy hands is a nightmare on my SQ5
Dobry film i pomocny❤
Nice informative video dude 👍
how much oil is added front and rear?
A little over a liter on both. Get 3 liters and you will have enough.
Thank you ❤️
Is this the 0B5 7-speed transmission on this car?
It is the 6 speed tiptronic automatic. With Quattro.
