I do this exact same method this is why I love dip powder with resin because it doesn't take all day to remove like gel, polygel and other nail enhancements the resin just literally melts right off.
Tip: adding oil(I add jojoba oil) directly into the acetone helps prevent your nails and cuticles from drying out.

A few thoughts on this after trying it:
    Does it work: Yes
Is it really that fast: Maybe
The MAYBE is because it will depend on a number of factors. When I did this, I had powder dip on which consisted of: 1 clear layer of powder, 3 color layers of powder, and 1 layer of UV cured gel polish. That's a LOT to break down. It took 25 minutes on the first hand, without breaking the seal on the polish. 22 minutes on the second hand after breaking the seal of the polish.
It was far easier and cleaner than using foil and cotton balls. It was not as fast as my technician doing this in the salon though.
If you don't have many layers on, then it's going to be faster. If you've got a lot of lifting already, that will allow more space for the acetone to penetrate under the powder/gel. If you don't have a lot of lifting then breaking the seal is going to help tremendously.
Here's what I learned and what I will do next time when I go to remove the gel polish I'm putting on now:
    1) Hot water is key. Like THE MOST important factor. Heating the acetone is what makes this work faster. The water will cool down pretty quickly, so make it as hot as you can stand it. She says this in the video and I want to reiterate it. It will sting but just take your hand out briefly and go back in. I'm considering a kettle of water nearby next time to 'top it off' if I need to.
    2) Break the seal if you've got a lot of layers like I did.
If I'd kept better tabs on my water and broken the seal on my 5 layer (and 5 week old) powder dip, I think this would have been faster.
But I'm still plenty happy to discover this and this I'll continue to use it.

Careful with 100% acetone it is very flammable and evaporates completely at 130 degrees F. The vapor is highly flammable. The bag should help contain vapor but be careful that nobody smokes in the vicinity, cigarettes or otherwise.

Had to come back and comment. I am brand new to dip nails and so I decided after doing one hand, I wasn’t happy. Found you after watching one video that suggested an hour to take them off. It tried this methot yesterday!!! It actually helped but I removed my sns first doing the way showed in the video for like 15 minutes( didn’t need the paper just acetone in the bag) and this removes a fair bit on top. After I still use foil and cotton with acetone for another 10 minutes and all came off!!!!!
In the bag I put normal nail polish with acetone. Didn’t have enough pure acetone. So i kept it for the foil
    Good luck 🙃

    • @FavrielleBrooks

Happy it worked for the most part! Having the paper towel is nice because it helps remove the parts that have already dissolved so the acetone can work on the under layers. Pure acetone is in such high demand these days!! :)

Mine are all pruny as if water logged in water... days after doing this, I can’t even wash dishes now because it becomes painful... I can only conclude the acetone burned the top layer of my skin.. it’s been days and no change.. I really hope it will regenerate. Anyone else experience this???? They are super sensitive and just look awful... literally like I was in a pool for 12 hrs. Weird.

She said that cats don’t need all the carbs that are in dry food, because it can lead to diabetes, and they should be on a solely wet food diet. If you go to the website catinfo.org/ this lady I think she’s a vet herself?? I can’t remember buuut she has a chart of which is the best kind of wet cat food to give your feline!(: As well as a ratio of what should be in your kitty’s food in reference to protein, fat, and carbs. we switched and I’m please to say that my kitty was 11.2 lbs or so and he’s now at 10.5 in about 3 was or so... buut I just wanted to share that!(:
