By far the best beginners guide, Dave! Helped me a lot. But how to proceed after being promoted to the next class? Maybe you link a video here for the next steps. Just a suggestion. Great channel, however. 👍👍
I guess this should also work in IRacing, what I was doing in Aseto Corsa is that I would drive trough the pits in my qualifying laps, it gave me a bad time that placed me at the back of the grid and I got to practice those pit entries wich helps for when you get to races with pitstops.
Great guide, but 1 thing: i thought safety rating wasnt impacted in practice sessions? I thought only in qualifying and race, or am i wrong? You still get notifications i believe but the incidents doesnt count towards your rating AFAIK.
Great Video Dave as usual didnt realize you had been in the Sim Racing World for so long 😂 Im justt getting into Sim Racing on PC and therefor I Racing been on the PS for yesrs
Haha this video is an example of practice what you preach. Everything he says is right, everything he does is way too risky to get out of the rookies fast. He's driving with experienced drivers, so he gets away with it. With real rookies this would have been carnage.
what's the point of climbing up the ranks without knowing how to drive with other people on the grid? If someone ever thought about the guy behind the wheel not being a pro racer. There's a rookie class for a reason. Seeing you race still helped me improve and your commentary gave some info about your state and mind and how you think in the race. thank you for that, I'd appreciate it though, if you rather give us a structure on how to set and pace focus points for improvement and developing technique. As this video is rather old I'm sure to check out the newer content.
3 or 4 races. It took me 4 races, but I made mistakes. It takes a lot more to get from D to C though, and D isn't honestly a lot better than rookie class when it comes to kamikaze drivers.
Once you get your D license, you cannot get demoted back to Rookie. But when progressing up through C,B,A etc. you can get yourself demoted as well as promoted. The lowest you will go however is D.
These days there's 5-6 people starting from the pits, which IMO makes it pointless. Also laughing the whole time watching this. "We dont want to fight". 2 seconds later he's overtaking.
I cannot wait to have the car control on display here! Truely Inspiring. In the meantime anyone unfortunate enough to see "MarkSutherland2" run for your lives. I know just enough about SimRacing to he dangerous.
Sorry, but IMHO, all you did was show newbies how to let your emotions take control and NOT about how to avoid that and ensure you finish without incident.
So you can actually race without being murdered instantly. The race in this video wasn't a very good example of what you actually experience in rookie class, because Dave's iRating meant he was paired with good drivers. You don't get that luxury as an actual rookie.
Pretty pointless to tell people to stay away from other drivers and then immediately get mixed up into the fray of the race. Literally, one of those do as I say and not as I do moments.
LMAO for someone who said we are not here to race just drive clean and finish ............... Your competitive side is showing Dave LOL
Was holding my breath the whole time during that battle for the lead!
the silence of concentration from Dave when he started battling for second 😆
Few days in now still rookie but enjoying it.. cool channel man… I cant believe how enjoyable it is… 🏎️🏁

Glad to hear it!

Great video as ever DC. Thank you.

Now that SR needs to be 3 to get out of rookies, how many races does that take???

But what if I get the license and and than I get some crash points. Can I loose it?

great intro xD
Dave couldn't help himself.. Lol 😅
The man was born to race.

What's it like using a controller on a laptop and what hand controller should I use any particular better than others? You can play from the cloud?
a tutorial fail turned into an entertaining race for 1st LOL
Rookies trying to farm for SR to get out of rookies, DO NOT DO WHAT DAVE DID LMAO
honestly if you can't get out of rookie license while racing you should probably stay in rookies then.

Why do you want to get out of Rookies faster than you deserve, Rookie?
