Love both versions of the song. Each song has their own strengths, the original 2012 version was punchy and raw, the newer version is far more melodic and has more of a refined folk feeling behind it. That said the outro to the 2012 version always blows me away.
Metal can simultaneously transcend ethnicity and nationality, while also being enhanced by the culture of the various people around the world who adopt and adapt it.

Both versions are nice, Ver.2012 makes me want to ride on something, a horse, or a nice bike, maybe even a speeder bike, Ver.2016 is nice, but a "that is ok" kind of nice, or "nice" in pure professional musical field.
the idea of a war horse is to have a beast as strong its rider i.e full of raw fury that is best highlighted by the 2012 version although,2016 version brings out the yang to the yin of 2012.
