He speaks English sometimes and definitely understands it. For interviews, I think he realizes that, particularly with his own filmmaking, it is critical to articulate things with absolute precision. He can do that more effective in Farsi. Then, of course, there is the consideration of being such an influential Iranian figure in the United States. There's just very little room for error... for a multitude of reasons.
Because it's a thing that everyone might want to do, a lot of rock stars do it too, its association with female gender is overly archaic and almost non-relevant these days.

why does asghar farhadi not talk in english? i mean is he bad at speaking or it’s just a conscious choice?
It,s a conscious choice exactly. The language you choose to think deeper must be native for the best result

Why did the interviewer paint his nails? I have noticed some guys in US paint their nails and I don't know why they do this.
