Hi e60 with a v10 is a gold standard to all car guys and i personally like the design, although your 6 cylinder diesel have a very common failure which would be the swirl flaps, the swirl flaps are secured with metal screws inside the intake manifold the screw would come loose and drop in the engine blowing it to pieces, there is a simple solution just remove the intake manifold and remove the swirl flaps it would increase some performance as a lot more air is being sucked in by the engine and your inline 6 would last despite the flawed design of the swirl flap system. Hope this helps
I watched your video last Sunday, the video is very well explained and covered all aspects of the car. Guess what I bought this car in white color and man what a feel it is to be behind the wheel of this German beauty and the beast.
Well explained and presented video! I'll be honest I always liked 5 series and was lucky enough to get 530D pre lci M sport in Uk which gave me the E39 design vibe and E60 wasn't for me (I have boring taste) but since I needed a petrol car I tried a E60 525i and E63 630i Sport, ended up buying 630i sport and can't believe the quality is so much better and solid compared to F and G series BMW's. I always say to people that yes these BMW's maybe "old" and "money pit" however you can buy them cheap and always fix them but when you spend more money on a modern Hyundai or Kia and they go wrong you'll spend more time at the workshop claiming warranty plus when those are also out of warranty and gadgets play up they are just as problematic as an old German beast.
I got an offer for 15k euros for a 2008 BMW 520i E60 (N43 engine) with 68k miles on it. Do you think is a good opportunity to jump into one of these? I really like the presence of it and the prestige that it gives to the driver.
This was released here in 06 and 03 globally....so they must have started its designing at the end of last CENTURY or the early 2000-2001ish...it was something no one saw coming. Its competitors were still boxy and old but this looked so fresh. But it was not considered good looking back then...even i hated it till i got used to its looks
I liked this video. The only thing I would disagree when you said that the knee room isn't great. I think that you get more room with the curved seats. The back seat is just sitting on a sofa very comfortable.
That's an amazing car you got there.....are there any mechanical problems with the car. Must be not having since it looks so well maintained and low mileage. Still its an old diesel bmw..
