This video is a classic! I have been rewatching this every so often for years. Spring and fall are when I need a refresher on layering and unlayering for whatever the weather will be like throughout the day. There is so much inspiration here. It’s not just about the versatility of a shirt dress-it gets my creativity flowing.
Mind.... Blown. Of all the people I watch, yours has to be the most versatile looks and so fresh but classic too. This video inspired me to buy 2 dresses that were too good to pass up and now I know how to style them. Please keep the videos coming. Happy new subscriber.
Whew I am worn out! But I enjoyed the work out! My fav was your taking the front and knotting it. And as always the most enjoyable is watching fashion rules being broken. A shirt dress under another dress with the tail hanging out? It simply could never be done...lawfully...until you did it! You find such magic in risk taking and proving there is no basis for stuffy rules. Thanks for the encouragement to try new things! XO

So creative, Alyssa! I have to admit I was like "where is she going with this?" when you put the shorter black skirt over the dress, but when you pulled the black sweater on top with just the sleeves and bottom of shirt hanging from the bottom, I loved it! I love this video. You find so many ways to wear a shirt dress. I guess I'm going to have to go get a shirt dress so that I can try these fun looks. I especially like the way you tied it- it kind of looked like a butterfly. I used to do a similar thing when I lived in Hawaii and wore sarongs. There's just too much fabric otherwise. You just give me the best idea. I have a denim shirt dress that is a bit too short for my liking. I bought it knowing that I would be uncomfortable wearing it because of its length and couldn't give it away because it is almost brand new. After watching your video I decided to wear it as the slouchy boyfriend denim shirt that I was looking for. The dress is so short it is totally doable. Thank you for the inspiration

So Coco Chanel wearing the shirt backward! I have a giant white shirt/dress that I've only worn as a swimsuit cover-up. You've inspired me to try some other was to style it. First is going to be that knot in the center magic!

I love the fact that so many of these outfits can be worn regardless of age. I was wondering if the shorts outfits could be substituted for ankle pants for someone older.

many years ago, I was in HS, Shirt-waist dresses were very popular. The bodice as styled like a shirt and the attached skirt was A-line or pleated. These were great!

Great, I just got a ton of 💡 ideas from this video. I have a beautiful designer skirt I bought years ago but it is too short plus I had knee surgery, It will be perfect with leggings or under a shirt dress with dark stockings. Thank you. Didn’t like the dress backwards.

@@AlyssaBeltempo I tried doing that with my chambray shirt dress but I think the fabric was too thick to make the knot. Still trying, however...maybe with the assistance of a rubber band to secure?
@@katkat521 hmm yes the chambray could be too thick - do try with an elastic band, a lot of people use them to secure knots!
All are so cool.... I had styled mine by wearing a coloured t-shirt and then using white shirt dress as cover up with kittens heels..

T here were so many fabulous looks! I would feel half nakef if I wore a shirt dress as a dress on its own but I loved the outfits where you styled it with jeans or leather tights or - amazing - with a black skirt and sweater!
