I returned 4 items today and felt so relived because seriously you are making me aware of what I have and how to utilise my closet. Thank you Alyssa your videos are inspiring and so well done.
oh wow that is amazing to read, I'm so grateful to be included in your day :) Thank you so much for watching xx
Besides your fabolous style tips I just love your laid back friendly attitude which is one of many reasons to enjoy your videos ☺️ I wish you would get more recognition on RUclips you definitely deserve it! Much Love from Istanbul ❤️
aw thank you so much for the comment, it means a lot - I'm just happy to have people in this community like yourself! Hugs from Canada! xx
Alyssa, your fan base in Turkey seems to be blooming!
I agree 💯!! Thank you Alyssa for all that you do!! You’ve helped me get my style groove back... it’s been a minute 💃🏾
@@janholder2286 aw thank you Jan for the sweet comment! xx
Frumpy to Glam! This was great. Wearing a shirt dress today for church. I needed this. And I haven’t washed my hair.😂😂😂
haha glad i'm not the only one! Have a great Sunday Tamira and thanks for watching xx
Wow, you doing the split screen emphasize the difference between making and planning your outfit. Making the extra effort pays off for a more pulled together look. I will be using these tips because I usually look the first screen. Tee Hee Thanks for sharing and blessing to you in the days to come.
Haha your comment made me laugh - glad you found the editing style helpful ❤️ thanks for watching Denise xx
Me too, Denise. Left screen all the way. Happy for the inspo
Love the before and after. It really illustrates the point.
So glad you found that helpful!
B Act Yes, the before and after was great!
Yes! Look 1A looks like you're ready for bed. Look 1B looks pulled together. Look 2A, very casual, which might be OK, depending on where you're going and how you want to look. Look 2B, fun and fashionable. 3A, super casual, almost "sloppy," but 3B, good enough for a day out with friends or significant other. 4A and 5A, cute; 4B and 5B, beautiful! Thanks for showing us the contrasts.
I always have people say that my looks are stylish and I really don't do much more than the small differences you showed. One of the biggest things is the undergarments for sure. Great tips
yes! It really is in the details :) you're a pro :) Thanks for watching Liza xx
This is one of the Best videos you’ve done. Simple/ stylish!! Loved the “ tacky-town” description!!! Best to You😊👏🏻
wow thank you so much Joan! Means a lot and glad you liked that little tidbit lol xx
Liked the little lookbooks at the end on how to elevate a look!
Glad you liked them Eleanor! xx
i love how your videos don't make me want to go out shopping 😄❤️
edit: autocorrect. out shopping not put shopping :))))
ah that is the best to hear! xx
I just cannot stop staring at you georgeous petrol blue dress 😍 I love this colour!
Great video! Someone else made the point that your videos don't make us want to go out shopping; they help us appreciate how to wear what we have--thank you! (I love the scarf-around-the-waist idea; I've never seen that one!) So cute!
Yay!! That's the reason why I started the channel ❤️ so glad you find these videos helpful and thanks for watching! xx
Great video.....I put scarfs tied on my handbags during the summer for more color and pattern instead of wearing them....
ah yes! Love this idea! Thank you for watching Francine, I'm so glad you liked today's video! xx
Loved this look book showing how big a difference the changes make.
Alyssa, those small tweaks made a huge difference! Summer fashion can be hard to style and look pulled together so thanks for sharing. Wow, your channel is growing...congrats and keep up the great work!
Thanks so much for watching and the encouragement Nancy it means a lot! Glad you found those little tweaks helpful, it is tough to stay stylish in extreme temps! xx
Love the basic vs embellished looks! And I wouldn't describe that black bra as minimal - it's gorgeous! I was immediately 👀👀👀
Glad you liked the comparison! haha it is a pretty special piece!
Fantastic little tips to make a basic outfit less boring. Really like the lookbook transformation at the end as well, and the dancing 👍 Have a great week xx
So glad you liked it Cindy, have a great week! xx
Couple of days late to chime in. I watched your video on Sunday morning. I was at a mindfulness retreat weekend with my friends in Seal Beach. It was glorious.
For sure, undergarments as in bras. I use a lacy halter bralette in the same color as my strapless dress to change the neckline. I use different bralettes as an extra layer that will not add heat to my body. Love using belts. I have summery rope belts, or I use a scarf as a belt with my cutoff jeans. I have so many scarves, I can always find a complementary one I can tie on the handle of my straw bags.
Thank you for showing us the two ways you finish securing the end of your belts. The second way was new to me. I also like to use a cool sports bra under my DIYed muscle tees. And of course footwear is everything. Two years ago, I added two pairs of western boots, one tan closer to the color of my tanned legs, and the other white. This year I added a black patent leather Doc Martens sandals to wear with my floaty skirts, dresses and Bermuda length cut off jeans. I also bought a really rugged pair of sports sandals to wear with my feminine midi dresses. I look at the trends as inspiration to jazz up my existing wardrobe. Most things I can shop in my own closet. It is just a matter of using some styling hacks to make the outfits a little more current. Sometimes I cut off the lining of my maxi dresses or skirts to above my knees so that my legs show through the first layer. So fun! I love your playful energy in your look book. Love your message of being more mindful while enjoying style and fashion. Bisous très chère Alyssa! A dimanche prochain!
Hi Jeannette! Your retreat sounds amazing! Oh I love your point about the bralette changing the neckline! I also loved the idea of cutting out linings to show some leg! So smart!! I'm so glad you liked the video Jeannette :) merci d'écouter et a dimanche prochain! xx
I love that you added hats to your video! I love wearing hats in any season. And scarves always add a little something extra to an outfit!
yes! I think they make a big difference! Thanks for watching Marilyn xx
What fun ideas!! Going to pull out all my scarves, belts, etc. to see how I can zhush up my summer outfits. Why not be cute and stay cool?! Thank you for another great video, Alyssa!
ooh yay! Have fun shopping your closet! : ) xx
I love these looks, so elegant. I'd never considered that about bras but it's true its difficult to hide bras completely in summer so it makes sense to have some extra elegant ones for summer. My tip for women with long hair is to wear a French plait (braid) in the summer, it looks chic and keeps your hair off your face and neck so it's cooler in the heat and stays put all day. I also recommend having a tan leather bag and pair of shoes for a stylish French look.
Loved this video! Loved how you showed the basic and elevated versions of each outfit side by side. The styling hacks were great! I would love to see another video like this in a few months for the fall/winter season.
So glad you liked this video, I will definitely do one for winter! xx
I like wearing larger statement earrings because it is playful but doesn’t touch your body on super hot days. It also makes wearing your hair up look great.
Bravo! Finally someone taking into consideration the underwear! I sometimes plan the outfit based on a cute bra that I want to show a little bit of strap or top lace. Also, I use those scarf clasps/rings you can find cheaply at the thrift store, to tie the bottom of my tshirt instead of a knot. Everybody usually comment on it, asking where I got it from. Nobody knows what they are anymore.
ah i'm glad you appreciated that - I wasn't sure how it would be received! What a great idea about the scarf clasps thank you for sharing! xx
Using a scarf ring to tie the bottom of a t-shirt is a great idea. I have some from my mom, and I'm going to have to try this.
Alyssa, I find it so natural and chic that you style and use what already have. That's style! Thanks! love
I'm so glad Marina, it is a fun exercise :) Thanks for watching xx
Love the scarf and belt tricks. And that bra under a basic tank..... stunning! 🥰✨❤️
Thanks for the before and after side by side. Can really tell the shoes make such a difference!
So glad you found that helpful to see! Thanks for watching Becky!
Tacky town, i love it!
This is one of the best videos you have done. Now to get rid of the "quarantine fifteen!"
I don't want to think about winter yet either. It's still not so warm(hot) here. I've been knotting my T's and my button down shirts and I really like the look for summer. I just put a blue & white, slim polka dot scarf around my waist on a white pencil skirt with white top. Pow!
me neither! Hope it gets warmer where you are! Your scarf belt sounds awesome, thank you for watching!
Styling is everything when it comes to expressing one's individuality. I love your styling tips and add sunnies and a great pair of shoes. I have come late to the fancy bras...but I am working on it. I need a couple of new bras...the area that is consistently neglected in my wardrobe. So, I will be looking for some lace and other embellishments that will fill in a V neck! Great video...as always! I am also showing off my pedicure and summer sandals!
Oh sunglasses! A great point I can't believe I forgot - as well as a pedicure :) Really makes a difference .. I must admit underpinnings is neglected in my closet as well! Thanks so much for watching Lisa, and enjoy the summer weather! xx
I really love your style . Your videos are so informative and helpful . You should make more videos about minimalism. Love from turkey❤
Thank you so much for the kind comment, I'm so glad you find these videos helpful:) Thank you for the suggestion and hugs from Canada! xx
Nice, Alyssa! I wear less jewelry in the summer. Just too hot for.
Enjoy your week too, my dear! 🤗
Yes, for the heavier pieces its tough! Thanks for watching Gina! xx
I love how u knotted the belts. I never thought of doing that.
A follow-up suggestion by you in your staying stylish when it's too hot outside to wear clothes video... 😁❤️☀️Yes to scarves in hair or on a tote bag/purse, hats, and earrings! I'm going to try that scarf as a cool bracelet idea! 😁
I love that you just have fun making these videos! love the lil dances 😂😂
so kind thank you! xx
I seriously dislike hot weather and think it’s so much easier to look stylish in cool weather clothing. I am 60 and past menopause, but the heat is worsening around the globe and, honestly, I just can’t tolerate it. Linen is the way to go- no one cares about wrinkles; all anyone sees is organic cloth that looks cool and classic. So I really appreciate that styling tip. I paused your video, opened Banana Republic and Garnett Hill and ordered a couple of linen collared blouses (I usually never wear collared blouses because I have a short neck and a round face). I think that style hack you recommended for layering a linen blouse over a cami and tying at the waist is a winner- classic and ageless. You have a wasp-waist, so the belt knotting and scarves as belt styling looks great on you. I like to watch the Milano street style RUclips videos to see how middle aged and older Italian ladies dress and style (my dad’s family was from NW of Turin). A great scarf around the handle of a good quality bag is also a classic. Please do some videos for older gals who want to be stylish and age appropriate-especially in 🥵 weather! Thanks🌻
Loved how you showed before and after you always help me to not buy more ,and show me that what I have is enough . I’m going to see if I can use my scarves to change the look of my outfits thank you .
aw thanks Chanel, it means a lot that you appreciate that aspect of the channel :) So glad you liked the video xx
In NY, summer heat goes hand in hand with humidity, most days are scorching, i can't bear a scarf or even jewelry. I guess it comes with age and the hot flashes. So take advantage of your youth!!! Loved your video. Thank you
The Base ---> Finished looks were so helpful at the end. I start getting lazy when it feels like 38 degrees celsius outside, so I needed the inspiration! I will wear a contrasting color tank bra (navy or peach or watermelon pink) under an open weave white linen top to give a summery layered feel. Have a great week, Alyssa! (PS. I usually incorporate a top layer for the office, because the AC is FREEZING!)
Glad i'm not the only one who likes to show off a little bra in the summer! And yes - I hate AC but it's something to contend with! Thanks for watching Christina!
4th look: that scarf on the blue dress is awsome :)
Thank you! I've worn it recently and really enjoy it! xx
I'm so glad I found your video , i learned so much, and it stopped me from shopping every season as now I shop In my closet . Thank you so much ❤
I love that all the outfits (maybe except for the midi dress) would also work with the white chucks. I'm so sorry, but I'm a sneaker girl :D
Love look #4 and #5, so great to see how simple touches can change the whole look of an outfit!!! Dresses and shirts are so cool in this summer heat!! Thank you for the inspiration!!
Loved the teal dress with obi.
Ok, you've convinced me to let my bras peak out this summer. Question. When wearing peakaboo lingerie, how do you silence the voice of your mother in your head? Do you find mojitos work well for that?
Helpful tips and great lookbook with the "before" and "after"! Shop your closet indeed!!!!
oh good i'm so glad! Happy shopping your closet! xx
So many great tips in 10 minutes ! I always find your lookbooks so inspiring and love your joyful approach ! Thank You
I'm so glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching! xx
THANK YOU! I learned how to 'tie' a belt :-) AND a new way to roll the cuff on my shirts..... I ALWAYS learn something new from your styling videos. THANK YOU!
oh yay! Glad you liked those little styling gems:) Thanks for watching xx
Oh no... 😱 you said WINTER!!!! 😮👀 🤣 Ciao, Alyssa. Fabulous, as always! Especially, the dancing!!! I'm a scarf lover as well and love wearing a skinny colourful silk one in my pony tail. Adds both colour and movement as I walk. Have a great week, bella! I need to go lay down on the grass and watch some clouds for a couple of hours 👍💖
ahaha I KNOW how horrible!! So glad you liked the video and I hope you enjoy your relaxing afternoon in the sun - sounds lovely! xx
I just have to say it: you are simply adorable! Thank you for answering every comment here on yt :)
Aw Catia thank you so much for the sweet comment :) thank you for watching! xx
I really love your personality and how you demo the possibilities! You really inspire me! Have a blessed month and please keep on doing this God given gift that you’ve been sharing!🥰🙏🌸🕊 Victoria Caropreso San Diego CA
I fall squarely in the basic category 😂 I don’t even like shopping but every few years I decide to try and not look like a hot teenage mess. This is one of those years. I hope I can be just a tiny bit successful at implementing your tips and tricks.
Alyssa! Love the split screen basic to elevated--so good! Lots of what seems like simple but awesome tweaks to incorporate into summer looks! Grazie!
Yay!! So glad you liked them ! Thanks for watching xx
These were really cute! I started knotting my belt back in 1990 when I'd lost a few pounds and didn't have the money to buy a new one at the time. People looked at me funny at first, but it wasn't long before I saw other people doing it. Who knew?! 🙂 If only my belt were too big now. 😁
I love the idea of shopping your own closet. I try to make sure I purchase versatile key pieces for my wardrobe. It's not always easy, but watching your videos are helpful and inspiring. Thank you for putting out great content. Keep on keeping on!
Great video! My favorite is outfit 5, I'm going to try and recreate that look tomorrow. Thanks for all the good ideas.
yay! Have fun shopping your closet :) Thanks for watching!
Excelente video! Your tips are always so classy and beautiful. 🙏
Thank you so much I'm really glad you like them Beatriz xx
Great video, as always ! I always cuff my shirts now the way you show and I love it, and also “play” with my belts. Now I am attracted by the knot ! And also playing with scarves, which is something I never do and gives me very good ideas to play with them in various ways, since I love mine so much and I am always a little sad not to wear them during summer.
Thank you again Alyssa !
I'm so glad you are rediscovering your scarves Veronique! So glad you find these videos helpful ❤️ thank you for watching xx
Thanks for these tips! I’m always torn between tucking in (too warm) and leaving out (sloppy). I’m gong to knotting my tees now thanks to your inspiration!
the summer struggle! Glad you liked that tip and thanks for watching Anne! xx
Oh, I love the way you suggest to knot belts. And I adore wearing scarves around my waist, like a belt. Thank you for the video, Alyssa.
Hi alyssa, could you show us how to do a bohemian modern city look?
Fun suggestion, thank you for that one! xx
I’m a tomboy at heart, but I clean up nice. 😉 The examples you show at the end can make things I already own “emotionally safe” still to me! You’ve no idea how great that is! Thank you
Love watching your styling tips. It came on as I left the house early this morning, then froze until I got home🤔
Thanks again Alyssa 🤗
So glad you liked it - very odd about it freezing, sorry about that! xx Glad you were able to watch it in the end :) Have a great week! xx
@@AlyssaBeltempo maybe it was a sign that I shouldn't muti- task😊
Caribbean women's bras usually show a bit under their clothes, not as a fashion statement, but because they wear sleeveless garments. That's one region I never felt I could care less if my bra straps showed!
Alyssa, I love your channel and everything you do ♥️ could you please do more videos for women of different shapes, a bit overweight, of different ages, etc. Also more thematic videos, let's say what to wear on a date, to work, etc. Thank you ♥️
Really loved the transformations!
Thanks for watching Emily!
So adorable, as usual :-) I so frequently forget about knotting a t-shirt to elevate a look from convenience store run to lunch with friends :-)))
Haha yes! Love that example :) thanks for watching 🥰

I am new to your channel. This is the first video I watched and I find it very helpful to me and your tips are easy to understand and dorable. I especially love the editing style (before and after showing on one page. Appreciate the most is you put an explanation note in between). Thank you very much.
Hi Priscilla welcome to the channel! I'm so glad you like it and you liked this style of video :) there are a few others like this for transforming looks from basic to chic and also for different styles :) enjoy!

aw thanks for the sweet comment Debbie :)
Amazing super useful video as always Alyssa thank you so much 😍
So glad you found it helpful Gaby! Thanks for watching! xx
Totally agree!
Thanks for watching!
I like the lace bralettes I see, but can't find one with enough support. And I don't like bras with padding and major push up and out like a lot of victoria secret bras do. Any suggestions?
ah shoot that's tough as this one is padded - it definitely isn't a pushup though and I find I get great support form it - it's by Marlies Dekkers incredibly well made had mine for years now - hopefully this helps:)
I wear the bralette over my regular bra.
If you really hunt around on eBay and Amazon you can find them. Well at least I did - I wear a D cup and the ones I found are just enough (halter style, lace, removable padding) - just enough support and coverage although sometimes need to adjust the girls a bit (worth it for being cooler to wear in v humid coastal region where I live)
Great ideas as usual ❤️
Loved it! Thank you Alyssa for another beautiful video with great styling helps.
Yay! Thanks for watching Lynne!
You definitely have some Great styling tips Alyssa, loved them All, I will put my scarf 🧣 around the handles of my handbag for a pop of colour during both Summer and Winter....Thank You for your time that you put into making these videos.. Much Love from Nellie Queensland Australia 🇦🇺🥰🥰
I'm so glad you liked them Nellie :) I love a purse with a scarf around it - so chic! Much love from Canada!
Yup, FAR too hot to WEAR a scarf during, well most of the year, in Qld. Unless you wear it AS clothing. (I used to live up there and I keep thinking I should STILL move further south).
I'm in Sydney and I consider most of her summer looks to be spring looks. I mean JEANS? In SUMMER? Covered footwear??!
@@susie9893 Love our Queensland weather, wouldn’t have it any other way, I hate the Cold 🥶 with a passion, the less clothing I have to wear the better and less washing of bulky Winter jumpers, I hibernate during the winter months Lol 😂 even here in Queensland, we live in Queensland but hubby works in Sydney under normal circumstances, he’s been home working since March driving me CRAZY 😜 LOL 😂
@@susie9893 oh, Canada is an absolutely beautiful place to visit, the weather there is totally different to our weather here even during there different seasons, that’s one place in the world I could Retire to and so could hubby...if you’ve never been, you must put it on your bucket list. 😊😍😍
@@-nellie-m3711 😄
You have a point re laundry but I HATE sweating. Unless I was in the pool 24/7 I couldn't live up there
This was a great video topic. Would you consider making a video on how to decide which hats go with which kind of outfit?
Great suggestion, I will try to find a spot for it somewhere! xx
Hi Alyssa, love your style, I also dress very Italian, linen silk and Pima cotton my favorite.
Hah, I was just wondering how even you would manage to make underpants look tasteful.🤣 Yes to the scarf as a belt and a bracelet! I learned to do this watching your outfit envy series. Because I live in a tropical country and plain cotton shirts are the way to go for work I like a pop of colour on my shoes. My red pumps instantly elevate any summer outfit. 💃🏼
ah I love using shoes as a way to add colour or interest! Thanks so much for watching Estha!
Such fab ideas, Alyssa!! Can’t wait to see what I can come up with. Cheers!
yay! Have fun shopping your closet! xx
Alyssa Beltempo BTW, I turned a friend into your channel. She was gushing the other day about it. We’ve decided that if you’re ever in the SF Bay Area, we’ll take you out for dinner. We just wanna hang with you cause you’re so fab. 😊😎
Would love to see more fun &eclectic pairings!
Thanks for the suggestion!
Love love your styling hacks! Thank you so much , Please keep them coming!
yay! So glad you like them!:)
