They predicted that the Cubs would win the World Series and were only off by a year.Amazing
dont remind me.... lol Go Tribe! great series tho!
RocKeRs By My SiDE Yes it was.God willing we'll meet again next year my friend and have another epic World Series.
im real happy for the cubs and fans. cubs def deserved that w for sure! its bittersweet because my tribe lost but it was such an epic series and most epic game 7 ever and we lost to a respectable ball club that had even a bigger drought than us! and im glad i was downtown to witness it. if it was the dodgers or any other team id be pissed lol but chicago cubs and the fans are genuine and def deserve it and im real happy for you all! hopefully we can have a grudge match lol like the cavs and golden state did, when the tribe got a full healthy roster :P i call that series the great lake drought series lol
RocKeRs By My SiDE Thank you.I also have the utmost respect for Tribe fans and a interleague series would be awesome or better yet a rematch in World Series 2017.
And one year off on rain coming back to SoCal.
Them: the fashion is *completely* wrong
Me: for common people, yes, but have you *seen* what celebrities are wearing?
Lol
Kimi trolling Lewis
USA Today still exists.

legasiguy At least
What they're conveying is that most people including myself. Reads the newspaper through their smartphones, tablet, laptop or desktop and it's free. Reading newspaper in paper format is old school
Well, they still sell newspapers for those who want to buy them everywhere I see. You see reading through a smartphone is rather difficult and it's NOT free - if you want the full format articles and newspaper you have to PAY for it.
yeah that was kinda a botch. Doc would most likely only know to look for news in his old fashion way, just like 50 to 70 year olds still read papers and watch CNN. That doesn't mean everyone got their news through papers.
aha the trump part makes me chukle because hes now president
what trump part?
Not anymore
@@top-sneaky yeppppp
@@top-sneaky no one asked...
@Fall Guys no, what made you think that?
don't be pessimistic, we are still 2 days away from 21 october 2015. All this still can be invented in 48 hours !
+scarfacemperor
Yeah, and if tomorrow an EMP takes out all electronics, we'll be reading about it in the papers on october 21...
+scarfacemperor
or who knows, even the clock in the film was broken + incorrect because of made in china!

Australia did that a few years back, he really does hold the patent for rain making and it works. Look it up. The US already has the largest fleet of airplanes that put chemicals into the sky, so retrofitting them with that technology should be quite easy. www.smh.com.au//breaking-news-world/thai-rain-making-comes-to-qld-20100808-11q5f.html
AND it could still rain in California on October 21!
They still have newspapers are you 5 😂
Yeah I know a lot of people who still read the news paper. Even I sometimes read it.
Kaden Hernon
They said nobody gets their news from newspapers. If you do then your getting info hours later than 90% of everyone else who either listens to the radio, watches television, or has internet access to 24 hr news cycles. Sometimes papers are printed before breaking news happens over night. I still read newspapers during my down time at work but don't have to thumb through to find out who won the ballgame last night. Y'all sound like people who held on to chisels and stones when the first books were invented. And lastly, this was meant to be light hearted & comical...like calm down a little. Sheesh. Lol
And in some places there are still phone booths
What they're conveying is that most people including myself. Reads the newspaper through their smartphones, tablet, laptop or desktop and it's free. Reading newspaper in paper format is old school.
Doc used newspaper for a reason. He could take it to the past and show to Marty, or see at any moment if it has changed (even without Internet connection ;)).
I know this is 2 years old thread but wanted to share this anyway.
They predicted FaceTime
They did

hey bill wurtz
whoa.. what if they were actually 10 years off? 2025?

The ironic thing about today's fashion is that 80's attire is making its way back.
+EeeeZeee yup , already firmly back in style , I guess it wouldn't really have worked in BTTF 2 , having everyone in 2015 in 80's styles. We would have just thought the costume designers for the movie were being fuckin' lazy, lol.
+EeeeZeee If that means we can get rid of skinny jeans, I am all for it.
+EeeeZeee ironic and very unfortunate. I grew up in the '80s and the fashion during that time was a horrible eyesore that never needed to come back. The fact that it's popular again is a true testament that people will wear anything that's trendy regardless of how idiotic it actually looks.
+tarwagon Not really, because the retro-80s fashions of today are like an extra-emphasized, obnoxious, scathing amplification of what it actually was.
+Rainy Jane I know , my point was that the producers of the movie back in the late 80's had no choice but to wildly speculate what fashions might look like in 2015 , if they had chosen 80's clothing , extra emphasized or not , that would have been considered lazy and unimaginative on their part , lol. How would they have possibly known that 80's influenced fashion would be in style in 2015 , retro fashion didn't really start on a mainstream scale until around 1990( that god awful 60's comeback, lol)
we still got phone booths and newspapers in UK
Bloxed wow
haha true . I'm 19 btw
GamingTV no, the uk is stuck in the 1940s lol
Americans are stuck in McDonalds with their shitty healthcare and even shittier president with a bunch of countries that hate them because of their ignorance.
We still do here in America as well.
Well, newspspers may not be hip anymore, but people still read and write them. And Doc being suddenly from the 80s has all the prerequisites to stick to tried and proven format instead of whipping out an iPhone and showing it in Marty's face.
TheLaXandro Lol, I’d pay $$$ to see Doc do THAT! XD
Yep, we still have and read newspapers, in Malaysia.
@Dino_ Jusufovic_221 Phone booths in Malaysia on the other hand, are no longer working anymore, and I see most of them disabled.
Most people I know still read the newspaper are old people from the boomer and silent generation. Everyone else get their news on the internet.
I still write and print zines, with a typewriter, in 2022 ❤
Actually, flying cars do exist, but just are not that common in society. A typical flying car starts at $300K, is limited to airstrip landing in most cases, and requires both driver license AND pilot license, plus auto insurance AND aircraft insurance. And yes, it must have a transponder and are limited to weather conditions. So, we do have flying cars in 2015, but your annual income must be $7M or more!
The point is these are not common.
Halpin2006 In 2020 we are having Flying Taxies
Halpin2006 They existed back in the 1930s
Are they still in experimental phase for the flying cars?

Wait we still use newspapers to get our news anyways not like no one makes them anymore :S
they kind of makes me sad now I don't have that feeling of waiting until 2015 anymore cuz its 2017, now that movie really is in the past.
With flying cars in everyday life, they would need to have 2 sets of indicators (turn signals), one set for up and down.
They said the number one thing the movie got wrong is that people get their news from newspapers. Well, there are still newspapers, so a lot of people still do.
Very few people under 30 though.
+Wrongthink must be purged!
Depends where you live mah dude.
Very few people over 30 though.
I read newspaper on my phone or my computer.
@@MariannVela99 modern problems require modern solutions.
Back to the Future got nothing wrong! You forget that history changed when Marty avoided his car crash. That's right, not only his getting fired, but flying cars, twin ties, holographic newspapers (since USA Today is still published), phone booths, fashion trends, and all the rest all *depended* on Marty T-boning thst Rolls. Since there was no wreck, we got the 2015 we know.
The DeLorean could still fly because any machinery attached to the Flux Capacitor exists outside of time and is immune to paradox.
+WakenerOne Not true, because, in BTTF3, after Marty returns to 1985 and the DeLorean is destroyed, Doc shows up in the Time Machine Locomotive, and when he leaves, it rises up and flies away just like the DeLorean did. Doc said he had already been back to 2015, so that proves that the technology of the future was still available after Marty changed his future timeline.
+Barak Townsley Yeah. but he didn't say he went back to 2015. He just said he went back to the future. It could have easily been 2075 or 2115 or anywhen really.
kirara2516 right, but all I was saying was that the train proves that the technology does exist in the Future
Barak Townsley Ahh, I see.
+Barak Townsley I didn't say the technology would NEVER exist, just that it didn't in our world. Like the other person said, Doc could have gone to 2075. That doesn't go against what I said. OR, given that he's also unstuck in time AND a brilliant scientist who once had a flying car and probably knew what was needed, Doc could have gone to a future without them--but one in which all the parts necessary had been invented (just nobody thought to combine them in the proper way) and gathered what was necessary to do his OWN hover conversion. THIS is, after all, the guy who built a steampunk Flux Capacitor!
"A world ruled by Donald Trump"
No they got that right
Nope, Trump didn't take office until January 2017, BTTF is in October 2015.
Now that i realized, why are they using two ties?
André Campana Merétika that's how they dressed in the "future"
I doubt if there would be that in the future. Wearing one tie, and a suit is restrictive enough. And, there's a growing movement for men not to have to wear such restrictive clothing. So, more a case of not wearing ties.
André Campana Merétika I like two ties
well why do u wear 1 tie?
garethjthoma it makes you twice as weakthy looking and its not really helpful so like... Might as well wear to to show you are much more rich as you can afford two whole ties when fabric to make them would become more expensive due to inflation

Also, that newspaper has a front page story titled "Washington Prepares for Queen Diana's Visit." Oops....
You look like Agent Smith from The Matrix.
Picking out "that's Elijah Woods" and "he's not a kid in 2015" really? You couldn't find one more thing rather than a casting? It's not like they could've actually gone to 2015 in 1985 and gotten a real kid to come back in time to play a part.
You might just as well say that EVERYONE from that future was a mistake, because I'm pretty sure EVERYONE in 2015 is much older than they were in 1985, do EVERYTHING casting for the future was a mistake.
Why would they pick on Elijah Wood anyway? He wasn't playing himself in the movie. He was playing a random kid living in the year 2015.
@@melissacooper4282plus he was an unknown kid by that time

In my country people still buy the newspaper.
+heavytransit In Philippines too, but many get their news from television or internet,

+alex ojideagu Yeah still a lot of newpapers in the UK. Or is it just the US where newpapers are becoming less popular?
+Crashandburn999 Australia is futuristic. Here in Canada we get news papers sent to us. And get can pick then up at grocery stores.
Only old people get newspapers and read them in Australia. But in philippines young people read them
the jaws 19 is an homage to the endless 3d sequels and remakes we have now
Plot twist : they actually go to the future but because of the movie, it created an alternate timeline
I'd like to point out this video came out on October 19th and it's now the 20th. They went to the 21st in Back to the Future. We still got 24hrs to make flying cars happen people let's do this.
+Alex Parker already a bunch of working flying car prototypes. Just not deemed commercially viable. Mostly three wheeled vehicles based on autogyros and hanggliders. There's even a video of a guy that lands on the highway, pulls up to a gas station, and then flies off again. Who the hell's crazy enough to land on a road with light poles on either side???
There are flying cars but they're not street legal anywhere and they're only in Thailand or something.
They are street legal around here. And u don't need a pilots license.

Leonardo Mayes its an 1980s retro themed restaurant of course there is Michael jackson hologram
The biggest flaw of BTTF's prediction of 2015 was the fact they didn't calculate in the effects of computer networks like the internet.
The internet existed in 1985, actually it was created in 1969, but was only used by the universities and the government/military. It wasn’t until the late 1980/early 1990’s that the then Senator from Tennessee Al Gore and some others pushed for it to be for public use.
@@andrewft31 Yeah. They should've showed the public using the internet in 2015 in Bttf 2. In 1989, they've wouldn't have known yet about specific names yet such as Google, RUclips, or Facebook, but they still could've come up with ideas that would much more closely resemble how things now became rather than flying cars, skyways, hoverboards, and other things in Bttf 2's 2015 that were way off
Me: Keeps looping between things the movie got right and things it got wrong
I would add every company logo to the list, or more specifically the Pepsi logo
IKR
FYI, There are Still Phone Booths in 2015
BTW not to be an ass... but flying cars do exist.... U guys got it wrong... the problem is that they're so freakin expensive only the rich can afford them... like Madonna! Secondly Newspapers are still in style pretty much everywhere you go especially if you travel by plane. And also Japanese culture or Asian culture is very much present in the fashion industry. And the flashy caps, and skulls and weird looking clothes are pretty much in the fashion in the world right now. So you guys should get out a little more from your studios. And re-think your ideas a lil bit better next time.
Flying cars don't exist. What we got in real life is just a plane that is shaped like a car really.
Well u certainly are the expert when it comes to technology! you would obviously know Mr. know it all! If you were so smart maybe you should do some actual research! Secondly as I have previously mentioned it before Madonna owns one it's a 52 million dollar flying car! And By 2030 we should see the first flying cars on the market. They are already in concept models. But since you know absolutely nothing than obviously what I can ask from an ignorant person like urself! Not much I presume!
Adrian Zeranski It not a flying car, the concept of a flying car today is just a plane/helicopter that is allowed to be on the road, and can take off on a Runway.
No this is not the only one available. In China they are in possession of a flying car but because they are very expensive they cannot enter the market because of some rules which prevent them to flood the market. But some very rich ppl like millionaires and billionaires already own flying cars for many years and they are not bigger than a car size.
Adrian Zeranski
Let me remind you.
The only thing close to an actualy flying car is the TF-X, but it's really just a Helicopter that is road worthy and is also Automated. And is also just on paper yet, hence there is a chance it will stay on paper.
The real life flying cars are considered planes and are ACTUALLY planes that are also raod worthy.
Second, you cannot consider them actually a thing, because they are not actually a thing!
The only one who can own them are DEAD rich.
It's 2018 and I still occasionally get things from a physical news paper.

+JacketWire hmm, never knew. Okay, Then, are we cool now? Has the heat died down?
Here is a bit of information for you about Back to the Future II that I think you should know:
IT'S ONLY A MOVIE!!!!
This stuff was not predicted that we would have by the time this era came around. It was based on what we thought the future would look like from the time we were at in 1989. There was no real indication that it would look that way. Those of you who think that, should remember that you cannot always rely on movies like this to predict what the future is going to be like.
Trust me, when I was 15 in 1989, I thought we would have these things, too. But it is rather silly to expect this is going to happen in real life just because it is on a movie.
+MichaelBrookham Pfft! Next you're going to tell me that Flash Gordon ISN'T going to befriend the bird people.
Well all I am saying is that Back to the Future II came out in 1989 and they had 26 years to invent the things the movie had. Nobody did that until the last minute. You can't let movies predict your future. Like Doc says, "Your future can be changed."
"No fate, but what we make", right?
+MichaelBrookham Thank you! Finally. They are ALL just movies, those 3. Another thing: Number 1 should've been that of Queen Dianna.
Agreed, when watching the original Twilight Zone, one of the episodes said we'd travel 7x the speed of light in 1987 but needless to say it didn't happen. SciFi movies are typically VERY optimistic.
Well, actually, the parts about the payphone and the newspapers weren't mistakes to me. Payphones do still exist, even though few people use them, and newspapers exist too (and still have readers, albeit less). since Doc and Marty came from the past, it's understandable they turned to things the knew.
People over 65 use them and read the newspaper
Not in New York City where I live, they all became these kiosk things where you can charge your phone and provides free WiFi
LOL I love his "I guess that's a logical question" expression at 2:14 :D

flying cars are invented, just not for public buy...
+Cecilia Gomez they still got it wrong
YH but they don't hover or anything so they r basically planes plus they do look like planes those wings make the cars look UGLY AF so no one would prbbly buy it
No flying cars in everyday life.

I still read the newspaper big time, in fact certain newspapers are much more authentic than the bloated websites full of crappy pop news and advertising videos. Also, relevant news is much more condensed in newspapers. Online, it's wide spread. I feel less informed looking at news online than having it printed and taking my time reading it.

This video is misleading. It's meant to be a joke, I guess, because some of things you said they got wrong are actually right (fax machine, newspapers). Some things on the list were for joke purposes only (Elijah Wood being a kid in 2015).

Yes.
2:17 they were almost correct
Arguably, they got the Jaws 19 phenomenon right, they were just hoping it would be their brand (Universal) instead of their competition (Disney... see the MCU for example).
1989: I bet we will have flying cars in 2015!
2015: I bet we will have flying cars in the next century!
2019: I bet we will have flying cars in the next millennium!

I can imagine my dad thinking that 2015 was the most awesome year ever xD
there are flying cars they r just not available for purchase yet but they do exist
True there are flying cars you suited fucks!
Yea but there are not highways of them and in the movie it is in the public. The flying cars we have now need to be taken off in an airport and landed their too. The dream of flying cars is to just take off from your own driveway

You laughing about news from "newspapers" is really funny, it should go viral.
It isn't so much getting news from a newspaper it's how fast the news travels. With the internet and social media news travels fast!
I still get newspapers at the door, and I still read them
#6 Payphones are still around. They are there for when you forgot to charge your phone, or your battery mysteriously died-or your cell or smart phone mysteriously malfunctions...OH you mean the payphone booth! Those are scarce. Yes. But handy for tons of advertising all around the phone.
People still get newspaper to this day. I still get news paper on my front lawn
Everyone thinking about the things they got wrong
Me wondering why they’re wearing 2 ties
I didn't notice that till the end lol
Future Marty wore 2 ties
BTTF 2 got nothing wrong as the Future 2015 Marty travels to is a Skewered version of this reality after he went back and changed events in 1955 in BTTF 1.
no because.. it's a paradox. Bif didn't go back yet. so technically the timeline wouldn't change
He Changed the timeline in the first one. Remember how his family wasn't doing so good at the start and then when he gets back to 1985 its all changed. Marty has a truck, Biff works for the Mcfly's now and his father is a successful sci-fi writer that means there has been a massive shift in the timeline.
***** oh for some reason i thought you said about bif's version
we still have pay phones. ......
pixlr no one uses them
