    Pretty smile from the patient, before she goes under. Many people don't know how fortunate they are. When I was seven years old, (I am now 70 yrs. old) I underwent a tonsillectomy. All went well, but I was given ether. It was an anethesia with a sickening smell. After the operation, you usually vomited. The smell stayed with you for a good while. Medical technology has come a long way since then.

      Usually at first they give you a med that relaxes you and makes you feel like your floating and some say may make you feel dizzy. Everyone is dif. Then they slowly give you the sleepy meds. Everyone is dif, like I said. Some people drift right off to sleep and some people don't. There are even some people who wake up in the middle of the procedure but usually the doctor sees that with your vitals and such before you fully wake up, so they can give you more meds. I know all the surgeries I have had and was put under, I was out cold, so of them I woke up feeling sick or getting sick but not all of them.

    • @AnesthesiaGuru
      @AnesthesiaGuru 2 года назад +2

      Most pediatric patients are induced with sevoflurane. The single-breath technique is not technically a single breath in practice although if the circuit is primed, the speed of induction will increase. There is really no reason to use inhalational induction in adult patients unless someone is super scared of an IV! Having an IV tends to be a safer induction in case something were to be given emergently

    • @SuperMichelleDJ

    😲📢BRO,...you better get those beeps up there higher... if I'm not mistaken, that's her pulse/ox, and when they stop breathing, be ready asap so that they won't miss 1 breath...AND FOR ME, THATS JUST A LITTLE TO LOW ON THE BEEPS THAN IM COMFORTABLE WITH, BUT EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT. I know some people may say it's only 1 OR 2 breaths.... but if you add that up over time, for 1 month, it can mean thousands of breaths lost with very low pulse ox.
    Don't forget if the power goes out!...
    Be able to empower yourself and know what the emergency number is to have the scrub nurse call and state your emergency, and get those extra anesthesia doctors in that room Stat, because even when the power comes back on, that won't fix a circuit breaker needing a new circuit in it👍👌 and always carry your very own pulse/ox meter on you, because you never know...
    and remember that each case is just like people... it is different, and comes with it's own set of lessons.
    THANK YOU KINDLY, 👍👌✌
    J.W.F. II
    AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST,
    🖖 LIVE LONG, AND PROSPER!!!
    Peace, J.W.F. II ✌🖖👋

    I normally only take 1-2 seconds and I am out when I have surgery the last time was awful I think they gave me the drug that paralyzes you first because suddenly I couldn’t breath and I thought that I was going to die. I had covid pneumonia at the time and had broke my hip so was not in the best shape and the man who put me under was not very nice. I am so happy that you take such care to make sure all your patients have a positive experience. You are such wonderful professionals and anyone who comes to you for help gets the best care possible.
