I loved L when I watched deathnote, such a cool weird dude, that really did help the story so much.

Good video. You'd think a solid effort like this would come from a channel with many more subs, even the thumbnail is crazy quality.
    Keep it up. 🤟🏽

Would you say that a deuteragonist is exclusively a contrasting character to the main one who can challenge them? For example, would the main characters best friend instead of being considered a side character or another main character, be considered a deuteragonist?

In my opinion,a deuteragonist is the 2nd most important character meaning they have just as much if not more impact on the story and plot as the protagonist
but also have to act independently of the protagonist's goals and ideals,as in they could have a similar goal but different methods of achieving it,their goals can coexist but are not the same like how a cop would work with a drug dealer in a case or they are simply in contrast to the protagonist
And I read a comment about Zoro being a good example of one but i personally disagree,Zoro is more of a supporting main character than a deuteragonist. His characterization is dependent on Luffy in a way that you cannot define who Zoro is,what he wants, how badly he wants it or how he will achieve and it is not in the case of Sasuke or Vegeta where you have to define them through comparison with the MC because they are so different but similar and at opposite ends with the MC
