by far the best plane in service in the world to date.
scary to think that an su-57, while perhaps slightly at a disadvantage on 5th gen data points, it has the capability to carry a nuclear payload. something the f-22 cannot do
@@marvinadcock3487 su can carry that payload right into the ground when it tango's with the raptor.
@@marvinadcock3487This isn’t the 1860’s lol we don’t need a jet that Carries a nuclear payload….that’s useless LOL The Raptor will down it before even gets halfway to its drop point anyway💀😂 .
@@1PerfectAgony second comment here talking about the raptor meeting a su in combat. likelihood is very low, as forces do not consist 100% of 5th gen aircraft (on either side).... not even going to debate a nuclear first strike tactical advantage being relevant. we americans have been practicing it with the B-1 at low altitude for decades, particularly in eastern europe... we don't do it just to get our rocks off.
@@marvinadcock3487Doesn’t matter if a raptor sees one in combat or not, you honestly think the US is just gonna let a jet carrying a nuclear pay load straight to America? GET REAL, Not only that but we do have nuclear systems that have way more efficient delivery than a jet…with that being said, there is no advantage of being able to put one on a plane….and 3rd you just contradicted yourself, if the US has been doing it with the B1 then why on earth would the raptor need to have that ability? You’re not making any sense .
As an aviation enthusiast, it just seems to able to do everything a fixed wing aircraft is NOT supposed to be capable of doing.
Fly-by-wire and thrust vectoring
Since the entire thing looks like the wing it’s probably easier
It’s unfortunate they could never get these into production for use in the military.
@@DS-nw4eqwe already have them in our military dude….we just don’t have that many due to them cutting it’s production….but we have 120 of them that are currently active and we have 450 f-35’s out of our 2,500 goal .
@@1PerfectAgonyI think it’s a meme dude. Saying “it hasn’t seen any combat”
Saw the F-22 go through it’s incredible maneuvers last month at the Cleveland Air Show. This aircraft is a technical marvel!
I thought Cleveland was a ghetto 🤣
Cool hat Burt 🤣
@@briancleveland6115 You’re thinking of Cleveland, TN 🤣
@@slapdat.byteme Actually I was talking about Cleveland Ohio, where you talking about Cleveland Texas 🤣🤣🤣
The F-22 Raptor is the definition of "Everything you can do I can do better" doctrine.
Great coverage Dafydd! Amazing pilot skills on display. One thing I've never understood is why do show promoters find in necessary to blast obnoxious music during an airshow? The sounds of the aircraft is all that is needed.
So youtube videos of the show get claimed.
Thanks Steve, I couldn’t agree more!!, I had to walk right down to the waters edge to video this to avoid the music. For me, the jet engines are the music.
Thanks for your comment and watching
Daf
Without the music you wouldn't feel like killing brown people in far off lands seems like a fun and exciting career choice. It's Jingoism.
@@DafyddPhillips Man I couldn't agree more with you guys! The jet engines IS the music to the show!!!
I might make one exception- Danger Zone 😁
I am not going to lie, this is the best 5th generation aircraft in the world right now. The maneuvers it can pull are just unreal and you can see why the American's do not want anyone to know how this works.
A really good 8 minute video Dafydd and thank you for posting as well.
Could t agree more neil, thank for watching and commenting.
Appreciated.
Everybody knows how it works they just can’t engineer it as well as we can
...and to think this is what the US airforce considers obsolete.
Thank SecDef Gates for chopping procurement of these jets 90%. He should be in jail.
interesting fact with the F22. When Lockheed delivered the F22, somewhere in the documentation, they said that the pilots could operate the jet "with reckless abandon" and would never loose control of the jet (the computer ensures that the jet is always within the stable flight regime).
I love it when that jet just throws itself belly first into the turn!
Agreed
Just a truly Amazing Aircraft, the scariest thing to ever fly since the Cretaceous period. The one benchmark that everyone wants to meet. F-22: "WHOULD YOU INTERCEPT ME?, I WOULD INTERCEPT ME"
I bet she is pretty and blond that pilots it!!
That poor boy is starving.
Lol I heard wild horses in my as soon as I read your comment. 😂
Such great, professional footage. Such a gorgeous machine!
Although I've seen it a bunch of times before, it still amazes me how the F-22 goes from flying to not flying but not crashing either and back to flying again, also just how small was that min radius loop he pulled right before the taleslide, I have not seen anything like that before, from any airframe, that was insanely small.
I finally got to see it briefly in person this past Saturday while driving and seeing it dance around in slow speed just a few hundred feet above PCH was insane. There was an exodus of people leaving on their bikes or to their cars while it was performing due to the rain Im assuming but ended up stopping to watch.
Felt like an alien was above considering everyone was sticking their heads out their car windows and dead stopped in traffic 😂
@@chinqlinq89 I’ve been vaguely aware of the F-22 but never seen an exhibition like this. I am blown away. I assume it’s using thrust vectoring? But you’re right, this plane is astounding! It’s too bad they canceled this plane! Then again, I’m not going to second guess the needs of the military just because I think this is Best Plane. 😂
I seen it maybe 16/17 years ago at an Air Force Base in California I literally stopped all train of thought and focused on a American war bird. While, my daughter thank God she was fine. Ran off about two football fields. Yeah, she’s a runner. It was something that just shook you from your whole core as it drove by in slow motion. Yeah, I said drove because that’s how slow it was going. I’m still in awe. So much so that I have not went to another airshow for the simple reason that they didn’t have the F 22 in their lineup.😂 🇺🇸
@@RobRoss Thrust vectoring definitely is a major factor in allowing it to have the agility and ability to do what 99% of other fighter jets can't, but I assume the design and size of the wings also play an important role on its ability to maneuver at such slow speeds without stalling.
@@RobRoss You are not the only one to “second guess the needs of the military”. The Department of Defense cancelled the F-22 to fund the F-35. Both the Secretary of the Air Force Michael Wynne and the Chief of Staff of the Air Force General T. Michael Moseley were fired for trying to get that decision reversed.
This channel has the most gorgeous aircraft footage to watch. Thank you for sharing your work.
Thank you!!,, appreciate your kind words.
Absolutely stunning! These machines are incredible and the pilots are unbelievably talented!
Amazing performance by the pilot and plane; beautifully captured by the cameraman 👍👍👍
Many thanks!! 😎👍
That has got to be the best pirate I’ve ever seen. Pilot. I mean pilot.
I saw a Raptor demo at the Dover AFB airshow a few years ago. First one I'd ever seen. I was in the USAF for over 22 years, 18 1/2 as an air traffic controller. Saw many F16 demo practices at Hill AFB back in the early 80's, and it was impressive. Saw many F15 demo practices at Holloman AFB in the early 90's. Not as impressive as the Viper, but still really good. The Raptor can do things that should be physically impossible. I walked away from the demo in disbelief of what I had witnessed. An incredible aircraft!
I grew up just off base at HAFB. I never get tired of watching all the different aircraft flying in and out. The F4's were deafening and responsible for a lot of cracked home windows in the area. By chance were you stationed at Hill when Capt. Hauck went down in his T38 Thunderbird??? That was a sad day.
@@michaelmorin1926 I was actually at Keesler AFB going though air traffic control school when that happened. My wife and her family were at that air show and saw it happen.
Affirmative
Amazing video! Wish I could have been there...
Thank you,, it was a great show through!!
@@DafyddPhillips looks like it!!
THE F-22 RULES!✈✈
That vector thrust is amazing.
I grew up around Pease AFB and was awe and stunned by the f-111s, f-4s and thunderbirds T-38s…which ultimately led me to join the AF at 17. Now that I am 60 and watching this jet perform brings me back to awe inspiring aircraft I watched as a kid…the next generation should be just as stunned on what mankind has developed! Hopefully I am around long enough to see the next generation of aircraft….Keep e’m flying and thanks for this great video!!!
I always love to read viewers memories like this. Must of been great times Donald.
Thanks for watching my vids, appreciated

I was stationed at RAF Upper Heyford in the 70's and fell in love with F111's and they used to pass over my english cottage on final approach. Always a thrill.
@@mikeyoung9810 I was at RAF Greenham Common until President Reagan and Russia agreed to INF treaty which ended my days working with GLCM! Many memories of the UH F-111s screaming low level at Salisbury plains! Great to meet another Aardvark fan! Nothing like the Roman candle with those planes!
I was in the AF at EAFB during the heart pounding days of advancing the curve X15 XB70 B58 F111 SR71 YF12 Back when thenAF wasn’t woke about pronouns
The videographer who shot this did an excellent job. I used to attend the Chicago Air & Water Show every year until I moved out of state and can appreciate the difficulty in keeping a fast moving object relatively centered in-frame. My only complaint is he didn't jerk and point the camera in some random direction at all the good bits like most folks seem to do.... LOL
Many thanks! Happy you enjoyed the video. Appreciate you kind words 👍
I still get goosebumps watching an F22 dance through the sky, doing things that aircraft ought not be able to do. The flare trick was really cool and not something I've ever seen done during a demonstration run.
Happy you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 👍
That silence during his free fall ….. 😳
Greatest time of 2023 was right in HB watching this LIVE.

What a beast of a machine, and Pilot.
What a machine!!!
what a majestic beast! King of the skies!
Good lookin bird!
Just saw the F35 demo and was quite impressed. But this thing turns it up a notch or 2. The low speed manouvres of the Raptor are insane. And the 360 degree turns are so tight. It will fly circles around the Lightning II.
F-22's role as an air superiority fighter means it exceeds F-35 in turn radius and total top speed (F-22 supercruise almost hits F-35 top speed with afterburners, for example). This is by design and not some mistake given the F-35 is a multi role fighter bomber with a different mission set. NGAD is what's replacing F-22's fighting role for near peer conflicts. F-22 was top dog at a time when near peer conflicts didn't occur so it came and went. Great plane that just didn't get a chance to prove itself like it's predecessors. I would say the F-22 is still the world's top dogfighter and air superiority, with avionics capabilities only exceeded by the F-35.
@@Knight_Kin Spot on, and it definitely still plays a role as a deterrent. Any pressure China may want to put against Taiwan will ultimately put them up against F-22's. Their counter to the AIM120 might have longer range, but the longer range is useless when an F-22 is able to fire and hit without the enemy ever knowing it was there.
The range on these birds mean they can easily launch from Japan, make it to the straight, wreak havoc on any Chinese fighters, and then refuel on their way back home. While China may be pouring money into it's ability to repel US naval assets, that won't help them against Japanese based F-22's who will be able to achieve air superiority even without the assistance of US carrier groups.
The F-22 might be on the way out, but it's still dominating the battlefield in the minds of our potential adversaries to this day.
That pilot put on an awesome show 😎👍
Howdy Big D! Metal magic…rippin n slipping…sliding that hot rod like on ice! Thanks for the shots!
Thanks as always for being here Stuart ✈️😎👍
@@DafyddPhillips did they say who the pilot is? I used to have an office next to Carswell n Lockheed plant and their demo pilot did performance for dignitary’s and it was amazing to watch. People always wanted to know if I heard them in meetings…I always kept them seated backs to the window.
That is jaw dropping
Sitting here, mouth wide open in amazement. Such a good display and well filmed. Like others have said, very tight turning at such slow speeds I didn't think we're possible without stalling. 10 out of 10!
Happy you enjoyed it!

Tail-slide, Falling Leaf, High Alpha...ultra pucker.
I was there last weekend at the show too, Huntington Beach is my hometown and we never miss the air show! Love seeing the show while my kids play in the ocean, pretty close to my idea of heaven 👍
Props to the camera person for containing their excitement! Great footage

The God's chariot! I know of no other aircraft in the history of aviation that can pull off this maneuver. What a great aircraft!
Lots of planes can do a flat spin. They just don't recover very well.
The front flip and the "dead leaf" manouvers are mindblowing.❤

That F-22 is being warn by that Pilot... he owns it big time... and damn sure has the #1 BEST JOB in the world !!!
That's gotta be the most fun thing a person can fly in the entire earth
I swear this aircraft becomes more and more maneuverable with each year. I've never seen an F-22 do a Cobra, or that tail slide loop before. I'm sure that it didn't do these maneuvers 10 years ago.
It's like F-22 gets some software updates that progressively unlock capabilities :D
Great footage, and the camerawork is incredible as well. Really enjoyed watching this one.
I think it's just the more people start to know about it, the more they're willing to show off at an airshow. It's still a very classified fighter that they won't sell to any other country.
Hell I wouldn't be surprised if it could do even tighter loops than what was showed here.
@invertwiley1689 can you imagine how high the skill gap is to actually fly these things?
It cuts through the air with absolute ease and I'm sure the limits could be pushed even further, absolutely.
I own a fleet of these bad boys...thank you USA for developing this machine for me.
Great job capturing and tracking this!
Thank you, appreciate you watching.
I know they are not allowed to but, everyone should experience the sound barrier being broken. BOOM!
Couldn’t agree more!! 🤠

What a fantastic performance captured beautifully thank you 👏
Many thanks Andy. 👍
Probably the greatest pure fighter jet ever made, wish Congress hadn't killed it for F-35.
Considering how much the F35 has ended up costing... we should have built 75 more f22s as pure air dominance fighters and built 35s for their multi-role mission..
It doesn’t matter in a dog fight. The F16s are still doing their job and not losing to these 35s&22s in sims.
@jacksloan3516 My last Naval Reserve assignment was working on Target (er, SURFACE) Navy’s Budget at OPNAV at the Pentagon in the early 90’s. I can honestly say that when Congress is involved on ANYTHING…..Stupidity Knows No Bounds.
@HWG-wm8ld Ya right, an f22 would wreck a f16, and there wouldn't be a dogfight to begin with.
@@HWG-wm8ldf16s still have their niche but BVR is key in 2023 especially in a near pear scenario. The F22 having an exponentially smaller RCS than an F35 would be
