I love your videos: very interesting, informative and relaxing to watch and listen to. (I hope that doesn't sound weird). You and Steve1989 are the best ration dudes on the RUclips, imo.
Amazing. Another video without an comment from me.
And an,of course, amazing video. Thank you bro!
I enjoy your channel and all the different review channels because you all do something different or try to. Keep up the good work.
Thanks buddy I really appreciate that 👍👍
Excellent review again as always mate! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next! Keep up the good work mate! :)
+lync1505 thanks brother. I've got more cool stuff lined up.
Excellent mate, I cant wait! :)
Your videos are awesome Sticky...new sub, definitely enjoyed the content keep up the great work buddy
You are so chill mate, I liked the review.
+Sea BelowMe thanks mate 👍
Love your chill style. Keep on
keeping on !
5 stars * * * * *
Always blows me out when people that aren't from Australia try Vegemite and try too much. You only need a small amount but yep it is an acquired taste we grow up with so we love it. It's savory. The condensed milk however fill the freaking spoon man it's gorgeous. Great review as usual
Agreed mate. they smear it on like axle grease & wonder why it tastes horrible. Dude on the video put just about the right amount for the piece of biscuit he ate. IMO he should've put more condensed milk into his coffee to negate the bitterness. Never heard of "Bell" brand tea. Tetleys or Lipton yes.
Loaded you down w quite a bit of stuff. Looking really good.
I have watched many videos about MREs from foreign countries and they all have some type of menu/breakdown of it, the UK even has a feedback note but I have yet to see any thing like that in any US MRE that is reviewed. Makes me want to order foreign MREs more than those in the US. Thanks for a good informative and entertaining video. Take care and stay well.
Of all of the stuff in this, it really seems like the condiments in the tubes is a really good idea. Very slightly heavier than the little retort pouches that US MRE stuff comes in (like the peanut butter, cheese spread, jam, etc)... but resealable, so the soldier could use it through the day, rather than needing to finish it off right when they open it. I know US MREs are meant to only be a single meal... but clearly some of the stuff is meant to be saved for snacking later (or recovery)... and having little condiments be available for both the meal *and* the snacking.recovery seems like such a great idea.
Excellent review! The 3 meal selection worked great!
+Jack Chapman thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
Great video thank you
24:42 If you're not gonna finish that breakfast I'll polish it off 4 you no sweat. 25:50 *Save matches w/long red ends. These are undoubtedly windproof as we have same type matches* in America. Supper looks pretty yummy 2 me BBQ sauce/gravy with spuds is how I'd eat it. I have 1 or 2 Aussie Defense Force rations from 22yr ago. Good review mate.
The special coating on the cans is a shellac , used to keep the cans from rusting . Also to seal from water .
Very good review
I think you were ment to have the mash patatoes with the bbq chicken
Best rat I have ever seen. When it comes to rats, the Aussies don't play. Fun video.
Hey sticky , you should of mixed all the seasoning in the noodles while it’s boiling & put cheese:/vegemite on the cracker together 👍
Break up some crackers like croutons into the pumpkin soup 😁
Sorry haven’t finished yet still watching 😁
your voice is soothing.
+Tori Hollingsworth thank you 😅
Stickyfingaz that was awesome mate! The CR1M is definitely a spectacular Ration.
Now the CR1M on the shelf is calling my name. Thanks for the inspiration. Was the powder in the bag from the soup mix? There usually seems to be some sort of residue in a lot of the CR1Ms like that.
+Ol' Mate Dropbear yeah that was soup mix leakage.. it wasn't the white powder some people might think it is lol! I've gotten so many narcotics related comments from this ration.. did you Aussies intend to do that??! Haha
Good morning recognizing memorial Day honoring you and your fallen comrades thank you for your service and your sacrifice God bless you
Hi sticky...did you sort the meals out yourself or were they suggested in that document that came in the ration ? Great video ..
Hey sticky hows the coffee taste with that sweet and condensed milk in it?
That style tray makes me think very strongly of school lunches. :)
Lol.. believe it or not this tray came from an old 1950’s - 1960’s insane asylum
Even better. School was an insane asylum at times. :)
When I was buying hot school lunches *they were 40 cents each W/Milk.* Forty cents kiddo's... We Yanks were still fightin' the Indians back then!!
when you cook the noddles you put all the seasoning in as well
You add the contents of the silver package as you boil the noodles. The contents are freeze died meat and veg, then you add the sauces and stir
How can I get one for my own
Well I’ve been up about 45 minutes now watching this I’m getting hungry!
the little white square of paper comes in different colors and it is from the inspection. If you have one it means it passed inspection
That's good to know because all of my CR1Ms I can see a piece of paper in all of them.
+Kahlest Enoch hey thanks for the information.. I kept getting comments that the little papers were related to recreational drugs
So much better than my times during the 80's. We had to cans & hex cookers to boil in the bag for a feed. I used to add the Sweetened Condensed Milk to the Porridge. The Spoon = F@@king Ridiculous Eating Device LOL. This was all we had in the day but I carried an old Spoon with me. Those Spoons are highly prized by troops out of Australia (not the FREDS)
Out of curiosity, are they caloric and nutritionally balanced, for an active person? Also, I was just wondering about how much one of these would cost. Thank you for your videos. I think everyone should have these stockpiled for emergencies.
As far as I’m concerned they are loaded with calories.. I don’t know exactly how many but I can find that out for you. They are on the expensive side.. roughly around $100 each! If you are looking for a ration with a ton of calories that is a lot cheaper I would go for a first strike ration
Just a few for a short emergency too expensive to maintain a large stockpile. We do keep a large amount of hertkeks and fruitkeks with all types of spread. A lot of tinned food, rice, dried beens and pastas.
I grew up on that cheese. Still crave it sometimes.
I’ll be trying the cheese again soon
I've never been this early in a video.
I like this MRE. Good review.
+Civil Hipocresy haha congrats :)
Vegemite is a by product of beer brewing
It's awesome spread thinly or sparingly on hot buttered toast
I want to start my own ration review channel. what would be the best ration to start out with. btw stickyfingers I love ur reviews, u inspire me to start a review channel
Honestly in my opinion whatever is interesting to you would be best. I'm sure my buddy stickyfingaz745 will agree. Let us know when you have one up.
+porchmexi yeah let me know when you get a video up. You can review anything just as long as you think it's something you'll enjoy..
anything old will do good
Well old stuff can be risky I wouldn't advise anyone to eat old food personally. If I were you I'd find something interesting that you know you'll enjoy eating.
A cleanup sponge, best match kit I have seen so far in a MIL ration pack, that spoon! a shovel for sure. That really is a fair amount of stuff for a 24 pack but it seems to lean heavily on the sugar calories. Has anyone figured out what that little square of paper is for? The BBQ chicken didnt look much like what I would consider the North American style, what was the flavour like? I also liked the three tray day!
+Paul Buikema hey buddy I haven't heard from you in a while.. are you back and making videos?
Someone commented that the little square papers are for inspection, or that it has been inspected at certain stages. The BBQ chicken did taste similar to American BBQ but not quite.. it's its own unique flavor in a way.
Hope to be back soon, going through home renovations the last three months, its been difficult to say the least.
+Paul Buikema sounds good! Good luck with those renovations
As for the Yeast Extract (most probably Vegemite) it is an acquired taste. Most of us aussies are bought up on this from when we start to eat solid food as babies. TIP -- it is a spread, so spread it on some biscuits or cracker or some bread, BUT BE SPARING WITH IT ie NOT TOO THICK otherwise you will not appreciate it. Remember, it is a acquired taste. We also call it our "health food of a nation" and if you do not have a jar of this in your pantry, then you can't call yourself an aussie!!!! Cheers, Mate.
I love vegemite now.. I wish more stores would stock up on it
Steve1986 had a similar aussie MRE that had some peculiarities in it, if you haven't seen his review go check it out
+Kaylynn Strain I think Steve did an older CR1M with the canned meals.. the newer ones use retort pouches.
He has a newer review of menu A; worth a look.
they are labeled not for sale to public, so how'd you get one?
It was given to me
I use that type of can opener daily, i could open that in less than 8 sec. :-)
I've never tried vegemite although I heard that it's good on toast.
+Momatty yeah that's what everyone tells me
The trick is to have it on toast with lots of butter. About half and half butter to vegemite.
I love Vegemite on butterd toast with sliced bananas on top
@@weet-bix1965 Try it with cheese on top, grill the cheese until it goes a bit crispy and brown - breakfast of champions mate :)
Excellent on toast and fries 🍟;)
For anybody trying vegimite for the first time use it sparingly. Try it on buttered toast great for breakfast...
stickyfingas. were do i buy mre
+Aleesha Capers eBay has plenty of resellers
Holy hell. $175 currently for one, "ONE" of these on Ebay. WOW!
+Dan Smith yeah, they're extremely expensive.. too bad, I wish everyone could get the chance to try one, they're amazing
No kiddin? Someone thinks *their poop don't stink eh lads?* For $175 I'd make roadtrip to WINCO 40m RT 4 MAJOR GRUB RESUPPLY. I'd get 21days grub AND sum beer and be fat and sassy!!
Im in the begining but man thats one loud MRE...good thing you dont have to be quiet.
Wow. I’m amazed how many Yanks like Aussie rations. As an ex Australian service man I would personally rather be issued 1 x 24 hour ration pack than 3 x MRE plus the 24 hour pack has distinct meals like breakfast whereas the MRE is one meal fits all.
Over half the OZ pack is made in NZ!
Australia and New Zealand are close trading partners (and closest of allies) and also work closely together in regards to things like food safety standards -- both our national food standards body is Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ)
That coffee looks like Nescafe
Bell tea is a New Zealand tea unknown in Australia
I dont think you drain the water from the noodles. But that is just my opinion
And now my ocd kicked in by not squeezing tube at the end. Lol
Noodles should be cooked with the seasoning together I also like to add the tuna to it
49:12 - 49:15 Watch as the entree moves by itself in the southeast corner of it. Oh no, it may have come to life.
+Sera haha good eye.. the magic of editing
In England we call it marmite it's nice on toast with butter
+Adam Cuttriss I've heard the English version is a tad bit sweeter
stickyfingaz745 na it's very salty and if you use to much it makes you need to drink lol
You're thinking of another yeast extract product called Promite. It's sweeter than both vegemite and marmite.
Marmite and Promite and Vegemite are all in the same ballpark but very different to each other. the Australian MRE "Yeast Extract" is Vegemite.
how do i get these kinds of rations
www.mreinfo.com
www.mremarketplace.com
Tea in a dimpled pint pot? What's wrong with you?Bone china or a dirty mug with a tinge of engine oil are the only ways to drink tea-But then I am in UK.Sorry-I know you get a lot of grief when making tea-Good review-Cheers.
I can’t believe he ate marmite on off the spoon no way
I'm an Aussie, never heard of bell tea
Try Vegemite on toast with a fried egg on top
Cadbury chocolate,made in Tasmania
Dang they not messin around. Lots of good stuff in this one. But in all honesty i was shittin myself when i saw the price 100 bucks is not no pocket change lol
Hurricane matches
Youre not supposed to drain the noodles. the hot liquid makes the flavor packets dissolve better.
Some people drain the water , some dont depends on your preference
You are suppose to drain those noodles
Mi goreng you definitely drain them.
Most Aussie solders carry a JETBOIL
That put the us MRE and are first strike rashtion to shame
I wish we had some woman doing these videos. I would be glad to represent the woman but I dont have enough money to do it I live on a very tight budget so it would be very hard to do but I would love doing it if I could
it looks like they just tried to throw anything in possible to survive just didn't throw in things used to cook it
A heximine stove is issued separately
British, French, Italian, Canadian and others all make the US mre's look bad.
M&Ms are the same the world over, the worst museum in London in my opinion is the M&M museum, the sweetly smell of it will make you sick. The Aussies try to keep their ration items similar to what their troops are used to buying on their own.
You are cheating a bit by heating things up on the sort of stove that certainly exists in no armed force anywhere in the world.
Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great CR1m> Oh the options sir? Pears in syrup, again, looked like original , with commonplace, labels removed? Agreed sir? Matches and striker, is very cool. All other items awesome sir. I love to see, how different people, countries, divide the meals and snacks!! We all vary, as to meals ! Extra fred, Please send? Told you before, watch that Damn stove brother, unstable !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You scare the heck out of me with that thing sir !!! Again, ingredients to noodles looked compromised, be safe!! Try the Vegemite, slow portions only ! I always wanted to try, know yeast extract, by product of beer. Great review sir. Lately, I have been blessed, to try overseas tea. From the south, I love iced tea, HOWEVER, Lithuanian tea., supplied by Fatoutdoors, hope aware of, LOL. Made hot tea at work, combined with Chinese rations? I am from Ky., far south in the U.S. .BUT, WELL, at that point in time, I work 3rd shift, 3:15 A.M., As I ponder my place in the world, Who else had this at that exact point in time, LOL? Wonderful job on all portions sir I enjoy as always STICKY !! Peace my friend !! Keep reviews coming as you have time and resources !! Peace, John, Once known as Magnum !!
you should have a reply on every comment you are on pretty much every mre vid
I enjoy these reviews. I talk to most in this community, and get along well with them, hope ok by you sir.?
I love reading John's comments. These mre reviews are far better than the rest of the trash that we get on RUclips.
Kinda pings me off as an Australian that half the stuff here appears to be made or processed in New Zealand.
why? half the NZ MRE is made in Australia. ANZAC, mate.
These type of reviews are my favorite down time thing to watch but sadly this gentleman's videos are like watching paint dry he is very slow not very up to par on knowing some details on the meal he is reviewing so that you don't sound completely oblivious to what you're talking about just a suggestion!! Not meant to be mean
+Leslie Terrill-Forst a bit harsh on your criticism but understandable. If you watch most of my videos, that's basically the whole point of my videos. They're not meant to be a history lesson on rations and not meant to ramble on and on about them either. Just me eating them and pointing out little tidbits here and there. I'm well aware of most facts when it comes to this sort of stuff, if I sound like I have no clue in regards to them it is purely intentional. Thank you for your comment and for watching :)
if pressed for time: dump the noodle spices and oil in the boiling water with the broken down noodles to make a noodle soup, and drink it ;)
Why do you keep repeating yourself showing the food product over and over? I mean show the product and after we know what it look like. It doesnt change from when you show it to us for 5 minutes before it just seems to make the video drag on.
You'll never be Steve I dunno why you trail
Sorry I’m not trying to be Steve, try again
Dude wtf , your a real jerkoff for this nut ass comment, take that negative shit somewhere else, Sticky ain't tryna be like Steve in no way and i guarantee Steve himself would agree, asshole
i dont like thos reviewer but that mre sounds beautiful im aussiw and that has all my favortie shit
your channel lookin real cancer m8
Sam M your mum has kankles so what
HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU DUMPING IN THE NOODLES BEFORE THE WATER IS BOILING?
+Creepy Craig I have offended you? To be honest the water was hot enough to get the noodles started, no harm done
stickyfingaz745 just giving ya shit buddy. Dig the deo
