Run a GaussSaw or any other high mag LMG with the Scavenger implant and you dont have the problem, you have much higher uptime then with the Betel nowadays and most ppl dont even make use of the heat mechanic, its just a tiny percentage of ppl that abuses the heat mechanic to its full potential, I most of the times have plenty of seconds between my kills, where I could have reloaded an Anchor, a Mswr or an Orion in that time and most of the times I die before I would have shot all my ammo of my Orion. Also I often find myself having to reload if 3 enemies come at the same time, bc of overheating the 45 bullet mag.
This +10000%. People dont seem to understand how op is the heat mechanic. Another point that you dont mention is its capabilities of partially reload during mid-fight. Lets say you are 1v1 against another player, both shoot 95% of their mags without getting a kill. Betel player will only have to wait 1.5 seconds to have enough heat to kill its oponent, whereas the enemy have to fully reload its weapon to continue fighting. Betel heat mechanic should be reworked. You shouldnt be able to shoot while the weapon is cooling off or at least you should have a drawback. I though of this mechanic for the betel: if you press R, weapon goes to vent mode and it will cool off faster but it will heat up extremely fast if you fire. Press R again to go back to firing mode were it can fire with normal heat generation and extremely low cooling off. Overheating should make the weapon unusable for a couple of seconds (no reload needed).

@@ThankYouForComing, @chettonex 's 1v1 scenario is flawed because he's ignoring the DPM advantage that every other LMG in the game has over the Betel. If the Betel only has 5% of its mag left, every other LMG besides the Anchor, MSW-R, and Galilei would still have enough rounds in their mag to kill the next opponent after waiting for ZERO seconds. And the Anchor could do it with headshots. Don't get me wrong, HEAT is a really fun mechanic and it gives the Betel an uptime advantage over the other meta CQC LMGs. But all else being equal, a 100 round mag without HEAT would be superior.
The Maw feels stronger atm then the Betel, for me it´s the Compensator difference. They should give all LMGs Compensator, NC has it already on most LMGs, neglecting their supposed downside, the vertical recoil. The Maw has only the problem of feeling inconsistent sometimes, cant explain why tho. However Betel is still a great weapon and fun to use! Also to all ppl that complain about the heat mechanic, use the Carv/Butcher or the GaussSaw/EM6, you can kill more ppl before you have to reload then with the Betel atm, I often have situations where I get a good flank position, but can only kill 3-4 ppl and then the weapon is overheated while with the GaussSaw I just keep shooting. Most ppl will die before they shoot the mag empty of a GaussSaw anyways, if you manage to not die and you actually have to reload, there is the scavenger implant that reloads your mag if you do pistol or knife kills. Also scavenger gives you a full mag if you die and get revived, doesnt work with the Betel and if you die with the overheated mag, you have to reload, if you get revived.
Arsenal update was part of what led to me quitting PS2 (as a VS main). Constant server performance issues and VS getting nerfed into the ground were the final straw for me.

It took professional Counter Strike players half a decade to realize that a gun that was in the game since CS:GO came out was insanely good, then it was overused and nerfed even after being the same for like 6 or 7+ years. People are afraid of playing outside of the meta.
NO THE ANNOYING goddamn voice pack but heat weapons are seriously op just based that you no reload or need engies or an implant or suit slot to save ammo
I use it because everyone hates it lol I don't think having infinite ammo is that OP since there aren't a ton of times the average player will even live long enough to make it worth it
@@Rykaasit is very good. Use silencer and underbarrel shotgun. Use Icarus jump jets and camp the top of Towers. Jump down and kill with the shotgun when you see now enemies on the pads. I araxed it twice so far doing this.
I used the betel for a while 1year ago before the huge nerfs, way too easy to use, completly broken, now the actual betel feels really good tbh. Yeah, im not main VS but broken weapons are boring.
I'm on ps4, our last update was the Arsenal update. We don't even have the may 4th update and we still have the Magrider bug that caused the Magburner to Drain quickly. It is horrible, I'm suffering. Edit: I guess the betelgeuse is ok now. But I never got to try it before the arsenal update. I'm sad all of the other Directive weapons got nerfed to the ground with it.
I think kamikaze covered the controversy well despite him being an NC main. There may have been an argument against the insane on paper uptime of the Betelgeuse especially since it’s on the Orion platform arguably the ol reliable of LMGs. But with many guns having access to just as insane uptimes the heat mechanic seems largely unimpressive for an auaraxium. The vs already struggle to retain pop with VS nerfs but our auraxiums and side grades compared to others like NC and even the Sentient victim complex that is the terrans. Now if this was a 1000 cert weapon the others would have every right to be outraged. But it’s an auraxium that you have to suffer through not using the Orion to get.

Consider the following, if TR and NC want to match the power of the Betelguese loadout, they have to use rank 5 Scavenger to achieve a similar effect. The Betelguese is so overpowered that it has a rank 5 implant built into it. That's nuts. The gun needs to be completely reworked.

yeah, you just have to make sure that you don't overheat the weapon which is pretty easy unless you're confronted with multiple enemies

I was using it with different loadouts but I mostly used the laser sight

The Betelguese playstyle involves switching weapons a lot so you never want forward grip in the first place.

I've unlocked the Eclipse (vanu carabine with heat mechanic) and barely use it
