The game expect you to lose to this bugger since he is a formidable foe, but there's a alternate cutscene if you beat him, and gain a trophy for your PS trophy run. Either way, both end result would be the same.
Rise of the Rōnin is a 2024 action-role playing video game developed by Koei Tecmo's Team Ninja and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game was released for the PlayStation 5 on 22 March 2024. Upon release, it received generally positive reviews from critics.
Gameplay
Rise of the Rōnin allows players to create a custom character. Combat features a wide array of weapons common during the Boshin war, such as katanas and various Boshin war firearms. The game features story choices at key moments, allowing players to side with or fight against various non-player characters, affecting the story. Historic cities Yokohama, Kyoto and Edo can be explored, as well as areas in the countryside. The player can traverse with various means, such as a horse, grappling hook or glider. The game also features the ability to swap between three difficulties, as well as a three player cooperative multiplayer mode.
Story
Rise of the Rōnin is set in Edo, in the mid-19th century during Bakumatsu, the final years of the Edo period. The game depicts the Boshin war between the Tokugawa Shogunate and various anti-shogunate factions displeased with the western influence after the forced reopening of Japan following the Sakoku period.
The outcome is still same but its kinda nice that the game didnt just cut to your character falling down. The extra cutscene is a nice reward.
That was awesome. Good to see they had an alternative cutscene.

Ya know what, all things considered, the extra work was worth it for that shot of the commodore joining in the fight. Felt so weird having him just completely vanish after his boss fight like that. This makes it nice and clear he was still hanging around and not off being unconscious somewhere below deck.

@@lukeerickson665Combat wise 100% Elden Rings combat is dated and that’s from a huge fromsoft fan and it’s because they showed us they can do good combat with Sekiro but have abandoned that system
@@nicunicucaesar2893they are completely diffrent games. One relies on perfect execution of parry and atk. The other is more on the learning of boss pattern side with stamina management. The closest comparion should have been between elden ring and bloodborne's switch weapon, which still baffles me why they didnt implement those in.

Game is good, go play it if you're done with Dragon's Dogma or need something to tide you over for the Elden Ring DLC.
