Yeah, I'm not sure if it's the recording software or there just isn't that much difference, I've switched to the beta version in steam and going to give that a whirl. Not only playing, I've actually managed to complete it, walkthrough on the website!
I had heard of the first 3 but Deep Fighter was a bit of a mystery to me. Had to look it up on MobyGames. I'm surprised it's not more well known it had fairly decent review scores and looks interesting. I should give it a look sometime!
I think Subwar fell off the radar for a lot of people, because I think people started playing it and then dropped it due to all the scripting issues and the weird results. And some of the mission briefings were just too vague. Those issues hurt it a lot, even now I keep finding better ways to play missions to avoid them. I created a walkthrough for all the campaigns and tbh I don't consider it 'cheating' to use it. It just clarifies what you need to do and how to avoid scripting problems!
Not sure if I see a difference, to be honest. But I love that you are playing a game that I remember fondly from when I was as old as my kid today. ^^

Miss those scifi underwater games. Archimedean Dynasty, Aquanox, Sub Culture and Deep Fighter were great.

Man, I had completely forgotten about this game. Seems like there were a lot of games from that era that I played and then, sadly, forgot about.
