@@TNUELZ that's been actually his nickname in Australia for quite few decades now... The Voice. For a very obvious reason, i don't think there's a need of explaining why 🤩
Fantastic song & performance, & great observation from you with how far he often has the microphone away, most reactors miss it. And before he throws the microphone stand away, he throws it in the air & catches it, & later flips it up off the floor with his foot... pretty cool
John's interaction with his audience is standard with his concerts. It is not forced - it is natural and his audience love him for it. Between songs he chats with them, tells jokes and 100% involves them in the performance. He has been doing this for virtually his whole career and everyone knows that when they go to a John Farnham concert they are going to a big party where everyone has a ball. 💖💞💕
A number of John's songs have messages for the greater good in the world. Yes, he is known as, 'The Voice'. The power in his voice is a product of his strong neck, one vocal coach commented. He is the consummate, charismatic showman. His rapport with his audiences is wonderful. John is the GOAT. John has recovered from his medical health issues.
This song is the "unofficial" Australian anthem, still to this day. I don't think there's an Aussie out there who doesn't know this song it's John's signature hit. Thankyou for your reaction and for ur love for our John God bless u 🤗
Glad to see you picked up on his mic technique. His voice is so powerful that he sometimes looks like he needs longer arms to hold it far enough away. If you've never seen a symphony orchestra live, take my word for it - they can generate a huge sound. Plus all those drums and guitars. Even with the mic damped down enough not to squeal from the backing sounds, he still sings with it that far away. And then to maintain perfect diction and stay on pitch without the benefit of autotune or other modern recording tech. He is just mind boggling.
Check out John singing Stevie Wonder’s Love’s in Need. He sings it accapella with his band as backup singers. Not a note from an instrument. His voice is so powerful.
True that the audiences love him. The feeling is mutual. That's why we say always react to his live performances. Oh our John and our anthem You're the Voice performed by the voice. Love your thumbnail pic. Its one of my favourites of him - we love him - that's for sure. The sound techs used to have to set the mic level at around 8 instead of 10. When he last performed at 71, his voice, key and power was still the same. Did you see him throw the mic stand up about 30 feet in the air and catch it before he threw it about 3:40. His stage presence and his energy on stage did not change in his whole 53 years of performing. His voice, power and range didnt change either. Thank you for another great reaction. ❤😂🎉

I love that you've discovered our Farnsey, and that you are beginning to love and appreciate how amazing and unique he is. You have 5 decades of John's songs to react to. He always gives an outstanding performance. He's sung covers of other people's songs, and when he does, he makes them his own by putting his own unique spin on it. His covers are as good if not better than the originals. A great example of this that I'd love you to react to is ACDC's 'IT'S A LONG WAY TO THE TOP (IF YOU WANNA ROCK AND ROLL) live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Your mind will be blown once again.
No matter what John's song you react to, make sure you go for the live performance. I mean, he's great in the studio, but even better live. This guy must be an alien, he doesn't even know what a bad note is 😃 he's always pitch and tone perfect, his diction is on point, you can understand very clearly every word he sings, which is so rare. "When something is wrong with my baby" with Jimmy Barnes is epic. Or Angels with his long-time background singer Lisa Edwards, or Burn for you... just to name a few
Love your reaction to this anthemic giant of a song. Its message is as relevant today as it was when he recorded it 40 years ago if not more so. And it never fails to get the blood pumping and get everyone on their feet. Lots of Aussies got excited a few weeks ago when it appeared as the soundtrack to a campaign ad from a Super-PAC supporting Kamala. Dunno if it was approved. I doubt if John would appreciate a bunch of MAGA nutjobs coming after him and his family with their AR-15s.
