Once again this week was the season finale. It was the 12th episode of the season which is exactly how many episodes have been shown for all 6 season. If anyone heard this song on Californication then they heard it on the season finale, that's not really disputable.
This may be one of the most beautiful and honest songs I have ever heard. The words, the music, the band and the production in this live version are so incredible it actually makes one think of southern California and life's long and sometimes tough journey. I first heard this song watching the Californication Season 6 finale and I was instantly hooked. The last few minutes of this episode was TV at its finest, and may be one the best endings to a season for any show I had ever seen. I just wish I had discovered Beth Hart before. She is a truly gifted artist.
Beth Hart, Setting Me Free, L A song, Am I The One, Broken & Ugly....so many outstanding songs, all number 1 hits if she'd get the radio air time and publicity here in the US. Her band is phenomenal, Jon Nichols, PJ Barth on guitar (new guitarist recently added & drummer fantastic too).
Slightly obsessed with this song, listening all day, every day...SOOOO glad I heard it last Sunday on Californication!! Now if I could just hear it live!!
I weep everytime. Beauty, truth and pain on so many levels, for so many reasons, involving so many people and places. Fantistic journey....endless... love it
Wow the song was released 2 years ago and it's the first time I hear it. It's such a perfect song for this end of season of Californication. Shame on me for not knowing about this great voice.
Unfuckingbelievable - how you can sing, Beth..... not from this world - what a song - what a voice - it´s fantastic - thank you very much for this tune, Beth!
Her voice reminds me an awful lot of Alison Moyet from Yazoo days back in the '80's. If you're unfamiliar, check out some of her songs, like All Cried Out. Her voice is a bit deeper, but the vocal qualities of the two are quite similar.

How this song played as Hank nervously knocks on Karen’s door before fading to black made this an amazing final scene.

You're absolutely right.
And yes, there will be a season 7, in fact, it is already in the making, according to IMDB.
They never should have made it. The end of S6 was perfection.
