tbf, the customer wanted to try that dress on. This show has been edited so that it looks like Camille didn't ask for the price point. She did, the bride insisted she wanted to try that dress on. It makes no sense that Camille constantly picked out dresses more than double the price. She was given the go-ahead by the bride, but cruelly, the show cut that out for reaction. Camille even went to see i what the sample could be sold for. That's not the action of a consultant that has been told 'I must stay under 2.5k,. The bride was just shopping her dream out of budget dresses with no intention of purchasing them. It was likely done to get under mum's skin and then work on her to fund the 6.3K 'everyone loved it, you loved it, blah blah. Really cruel to make Camille look like an incompetent. Even what Camille said in the 1-2-1 interviews, she had no idea the bride was just playing dress up, and she was being used as a scapegoat. The mum's 1-2-1 interview showed that she had no idea the bride had told Camille something different about the budget either.

@@RozanneMiller I honestly think the producers did it for drama, as they show her asking the price but not until they had been in the stock room and tried that dress already. And that seems out of order, but honestly the consultant shouldn't have taken her into the stock room at all, they normally don't which makes me think the whole thing was staged from begining to end. This consultant especially, as she's been with them a long while and should know better, so I'm thinking the production team stepped in and created drama right to start and then on top of it edited it really badly to make Camille the scapegoat as you said. It always seems fishy to me when a seasoned consultant doesn't do things the way they normally would (ask budget at start, takes client into stock room when normally they pull dresses for them). This one was a total set up for tv drama.

That’s all on the consultant for not asking the price range. Yeah she fell in love with the dress she couldn't afford BECAUSE OF YOU!!!!! The bride clearly told the consultant what her price point was, yet she put her in a dress more than twice her budget. You see this more and more times and that consultant should've put in the extra money if she wanted her to have that dress

WTF - why wasn't the budget spoken about BEFORE any dresses were pulled?

I'm surprised, usually Kleinfeld's asks about the budget before they even start pulling dresses. In fact I don't know why they don't ask brides to provide details about the budget and also what they are looking for in advance of arriving.

The consultant should be scolded by her superior. She TOTALLY screwed up.

Honestly. A dressmaker could copy that first dress/ and it wouldn’t cost near as much.

I remember watching these older Say Yes To The Dress episodes and it seemed that this consultant was notorious for pushing the expensive dresses. She subtly kept bringing the bride’s mind back to “the first dress.”

Kleinfeld (or at least this show) is really about to sit here like “let’s not put the brides in dresses that can’t afford” and respect their budget has been their motto 😂😂2:56 - 3:29

I always wonder how many people come into these bridal stores with the intention of scamming the store by not being clear on a budget, falling in love with the dress, and then you know, guilty the store and giving it to them at the price they can afford I mean Kleinfeld is in the business to make brides happy, but they also are the business of making money and they really do supply dresses for almost every budget. And I think it’s unfair when brides come in and do that because it kind of put management at the point where they want to make a sale but they have to lose money or a parent is forced to pay more money, the bride knows what her budget is and know the consultant is just doing her job, but truly put it on the bride

If you are going dress shopping with a $2500 budget that should be one of the first things you mention! Both her and the consultant need to do better.

4700 is still way more than she wanted to spend. Agree with people saying this is the Consultant's fault.
there are plenty of dresses in her budget. There is not just ONE dress that you will love.

I read a lot of comments about price of the dress was consultant's fault. Maybe. But every bride should know that bridal dresses are really expensive. This is no secret. It should have been the first thing out of her mouth to say this is my budget, etc etc. Personally I thought the cheaper gowns look better than that expensive one.

I don't get why the consultant did that. She NEVER should have shown her a dress so over the budget. She didn't even get the budget from the bride. Bad job.
