It makes no sense that Camille constantly picked out dresses more than double the price. She was given the go-ahead by the bride, but cruelly, the show cut that out for reaction. Camille even went to see i what the sample could be sold for. That's not the action of a consultant that has been told 'I must stay under 2.5k,. The bride was just shopping her dream out of budget dresses with no intention of purchasing them. It was likely done to get under mum's skin and then work on her to fund the 6.3K 'everyone loved it, you loved it, blah blah. Really cruel to make Camille look like an incompetent. Even what Camille said in the 1-2-1 interviews, she had no idea the bride was just playing dress up, and she was being used as a scapegoat. The mum's 1-2-1 interview showed that she had no idea the bride had told Camille something different about the budget either.

And that seems out of order, but honestly the consultant shouldn't have taken her into the stock room at all, they normally don't which makes me think the whole thing was staged from begining to end. This consultant especially, as she's been with them a long while and should know better, so I'm thinking the production team stepped in and created drama right to start and then on top of it edited it really badly to make Camille the scapegoat as you said. It always seems fishy to me when a seasoned consultant doesn't do things the way they normally would (ask budget at start, takes client into stock room when normally they pull dresses for them). This one was a total set up for tv drama.

Gok always finds beautiful gowns on his show, and they are usually in the $1800-$3000 range. And to think the bride wears the dress one time makes $5000 sting. To be honest, it sickens me.

Others seem to often start midway or higher on the top-out range. Plus, Gok and Jo & Al do an emotional adjustment whilst helping them find a dress. THIS is why they have much happier brides.They get a dress that is them, AND a different viewpoint.

It's the consultant's job to find the perfect dress. That's why they are the expert. It's not the bride's job to find her own gown amongst thousands and hope she's within budget.

I remember watching these older Say Yes To The Dress episodes and it seemed that this consultant was notorious for pushing the expensive dresses. She subtly kept bringing the bride’s mind back to “the first dress.”

I always wonder how many people come into these bridal stores with the intention of scamming the store by not being clear on a budget, falling in love with the dress, and then you know, guilty the store and giving it to them at the price they can afford I mean Kleinfeld is in the business to make brides happy, but they also are the business of making money and they really do supply dresses for almost every budget. And I think it’s unfair when brides come in and do that because it kind of put management at the point where they want to make a sale but they have to lose money or a parent is forced to pay more money, the bride knows what her budget is and know the consultant is just doing her job, but truly put it on the bride

I read a lot of comments about price of the dress was consultant's fault. Maybe. But every bride should know that bridal dresses are really expensive. This is no secret. It should have been the first thing out of her mouth to say this is my budget, etc etc. Personally I thought the cheaper gowns look better than that expensive one.

I remember watching these older Say Yes To The Dress episodes and it seemed that this consultant was notorious for pushing the expensive dresses. She subtly kept bringing the bride’s mind back to “the first dress.”

I always wonder how many people come into these bridal stores with the intention of scamming the store by not being clear on a budget, falling in love with the dress, and then you know, guilty the store and giving it to them at the price they can afford I mean Kleinfeld is in the business to make brides happy, but they also are the business of making money and they really do supply dresses for almost every budget. And I think it’s unfair when brides come in and do that because it kind of put management at the point where they want to make a sale but they have to lose money or a parent is forced to pay more money, the bride knows what her budget is and know the consultant is just doing her job, but truly put it on the bride

If you are going dress shopping with a $2500 budget that should be one of the first things you mention! Both her and the consultant need to do better.

there are plenty of dresses in her budget. There is not just ONE dress that you will love.
Maybe the owner should have a form filled prior to the consultation.

I read a lot of comments about price of the dress was consultant's fault. Maybe. But every bride should know that bridal dresses are really expensive. This is no secret. It should have been the first thing out of her mouth to say this is my budget, etc etc. Personally I thought the cheaper gowns look better than that expensive one.
I don't get why the consultant did that. She NEVER should have shown her a dress so over the budget. She didn't even get the budget from the bride. Bad job.
