the darkspear don't mind the blood elves, or any horde race. however they find those who hate trolls for well being...trolls, they rebuke viciously. The darkspear are trying to reshape the troll stereotype that they are all vile, evil and vicious.
I got a Troll Subtlety Rogue and his story is that he was a shadowhunter among the amani trolls. He fought in the war against the elves and when he discovered through a loa that belfs descended from nelfs which descended from trolls he saw them as his cousins and left. He loves his race and couldn't take it to kill his "relatives" in such a great amount. He became a mercenary and has forsaken most of his powers. But he is still affiliated to shadow magic to a certain extend. So he uses shadow magic to enhance his rogue skills like stealthing and backstabbing.
Assuming the majority of trolls remeber that much of there ancient history. Since appentally they dident know about there beginnings and it took Senjin in a death vision to tell Voljin about it in the books
I mean, Voodoo is a legitimate religious practice. And if you're already going to murder someone it's not much worse to rip out their heart or eat the corpse
In Shadows of the Horde; Voljins book, wasent it described that the trolls were something else before they met the Loa. The Loa changed them into trolls as we know them and demanded worship, they were ruled by a council of Shadowhunters. Eventually the Zandalari formed as a elite priesthood, they got tons of followers and secretly or openly (they dident say) disposed of the Shadowhunter's power. This was the start of the fall of the first troll empire
I named my Troll Bezerker "Xucaxin" which I thought sounded pretty cool and fit the Caribbeanesk theme. Great video by the way, awesome law and ideas for role-playing.
Nice lore vid Doron, 1 thing I must correct you on though. The way the Troll race speak are not based on "Jamaicans" but rather on Caribbean accent, as most individuals from the region speak in a similar fashion. You should be careful when making real world references such as these as some people might take offense on what you consider fact. I myself am from the Caribbean(Haitian) and know many from Caribbean countries who aren't Jamaican that speak in a similar way. It's like saying Pandaria is based primarily on the Chinese, when it's meant to reflect many aspects of East Asian culture. So just note that for future reference dude *thumbs up*
we have a whole guild of trolls on ( Defias Brotherhood ) even with a Clan chief, and it's super fun to rp and even do some videos........it's way more fun when you have a whole team.
I was playing as my Kaldorei druid on RP server and some random troll ( he was probably trolling ) started laughing at me and saying that I am degenerated troll.
@@Psaliet Indeed, as other apes can kick the shat out of humans in pure physical combat, and human intelligence will lead them to their homeworld's destruction. But I am sure Elves would never do something like-oh wait...
I have heard that some people use this method to name their characters: Use a toon from your desired race (create one just for this if need be). Select the race's language to speak. Type the name you want in English in /s and have a player of another race note down how it is translated by the game. To use the example given in the video, if you were to say "great chieftain" in the Troll language, to an orc it would presumably appear as Zul Jin. I haven't used this method myself, but I know that some people find it a useful way to come up with ideas for names.
A few things one should point out(although great video) Zandalari never worshiped or revered Hakkar instead they actually tried to stop his worshipers. Secondly darkspear never fought against belves, troll wars was waged between the Amani Tribe and humans/quel'dorei. Also I may be wrong but darkspears do not practice canibalism same for the zandalari. And on a side note troll druids of the darkspears and zandalari actually work like the normal druids--It is said that gonk showed them how to influance ALL spirits of the wilds and how to contact and learn from the emerald dream itself. ^^ So although the cultural differences between loa and wild gods view etc, their powers are quite the same.
Really enjoyed the video! One thing for the future might be to add some kind of agenda in the begining of the video, with clickable timestamps and/or add them to the description of the video? I would like to be able to narrate my way through the video :).
Wouldn't the trolls that joined the horde and been part of it for a long time have a different way of life and thinking? The orcs changed a lot when thrall was the warchief.
A couple of months ago I made a troll named Zultaraku and his story was that he was outcast from the Zandalari Empire after the rise of the thunder king but he has a rare power that is know as being a spirit walker or plain walker in which once killed would return to his body and if his limbs were severed he could put them back on. Hope the story I made doesn't go outside the correct boundaries of wow lore. Also can't wait to see the dwarf RP guide.
Sorry to say but that doesn't really work with WoW lore. The entire spirit plane thing is a giant gray zone when it comes to the lore, but the main reason they added it was for the game mechanics, but giving your character that sort of a story doesn't work the best. Also, thanks. :)
i know this is an old video but i really don't agree with some parts, i don't think that the darkspear hold any grudges against belfs or even humans (well the only reason they hate them is the fact that they are a part of the alliance and enemies of the horde) because they descended from the former gurubashi empire which didn't really had any major conflict with humans or belfs and not even nelfs as far as i can remember, plus the forest trolls were part just of the old horde not the new horde, i don't think they care much for the forest trolls especially after some trolls of the dark spear tribe joined the zul aman raid
It sounds like you didnt like the Trolls(disgusted) around this time (2014) lol. The Darkspear also saved the Orcs in WC3 and played a big part in the success of the Horde. Appreciate your videos Doron, thank you.

Hey Doron I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what type of troll a monk would be. Seems to me he'd be leaning more towards a Wise troll, but I honestly don't have any real idea.
I was under the impression only some of the tribes were THAT savage / evil / xenophobic / anti social. Not the whole troll race in it's entirety. Edit: I just discovered that this video is 8 years old and was suggested to me still lol

Trolls are probably a lot more than 20,000 years because before the night elves the dragons were in charge of Azeroth for thousands of years after the titans set them up.
I used to be in a troll tribal guild with like 20-30 people in it until I unsubbed from WoW for like 2 months, and when I came back I wasn't part of the guild anymore. I searched it up and the guild is now completely inactive with 3 members.

2:40 Trolls are known to be dishonorable? .Most of the Humans in the lore are known to be backstabbing, betraying more than the trolls? Thinking about the different Kingdoms and betrayal.
Duncan Stewart The good ones are the exceptions though. Just because they joined the Horde doesn't mean their are going to change their nature. Same was with Thrall, just because Thrall was peaceful didn't mean that the orcs became peaceful as well, but they settled down under his reign.
6:45 trolls aren't just based in jamaican accent like dwarves u hear a bit of scotish and irish trolls have jamaican and other islands accents depend of the character
Doronsmovies I doubt it Vol'jin was the one that wanted the changes to. At this point i am hoping one of the things Vol'jin does as leader of the Horde is slowly bring in all the now broken Tribes :D.
Matthew North It's not even Vol'jin but it's just life under Garrosh. They pretty much made an oath towards the orcs, and now "those" orcs are mistreating them and slaughtering them, so it wouldn't be hard for them to kind of break under the pressure.
Im not sure if the Darkspear tribe ever really did that ya know canniblism and stuff; Sen'jin was a similar ruler to Vol'jin and reined in there darker natures.
And Vol'jin wouldn't have a problem with "Cannibalism" and the other traditions... He simply got rid of it because of Thrall... So I highly doubt your last comment Zula'... I mean no offense ;) And sorry for reviving that discussion... I just had to reply!
Going against his video, and I may be wrong but I don't believe I am, Zul prefix means witch doctor (anyone that casts spells as their main source of healing/damage)
+LuckyDuck It's a wee bit confusing because there have been contradicting sources in the past, but it's generally agreed and accepted that Zul meaning "Great" makes more sense. To give some examples why, you have the names of people such as Zul'jin, which would mean either Great Chieftain or Witch Doctor Chieftain, the former fitting better as he was not much of a Witch Doctor at all, then you have all the cities and villages prefixed Zul, most notably Zul'Aman. While no official sources have ever given an official definition for "Aman," any thing it COULD stand for would make far more sense with "Great" than "Witch Doctor." i.e. Great City vs Witch Doctor City. I believe the only real source that said Zul means Witch Doctor was the old RPG books, which have been declared as non-canon and thus unreliable sources, unless Blizzard has never clarified on it in other sources. :) If it makes it any easier, generally my rule of thumb since there ARE those contradictions is that Zul can be interpreted as either Great OR Witch Doctor, so that I don't have any conflict with other RPers.
cant it help with the troll language if tou have a troll and a blood elf for example... write leader in troll language shouldnt the blood elf see *jin* then???
I wouldn't really say it's lore friendly for a troll, although would be a great name for like a pet or something similar to that. Although you can kind of pull it off as some trolls have surnames so it can be Flamerage but that is very uncommon.
I don't know about doing one specifically, but had me thinking though. Because all of the races can become death knights, so I can't just cover it in one race guide. I'll see about it, depending on how things go. :)
I believe the closest ghing to shados hunter would be shadow priest, according to the game vol'jin is a priest (no joke) so that would lead me to believe he is a shadow priest
+Ícaro Rodrigues You have a -BIT- of freedom when it comes to Shadow Hunters, because each of them follow a different Loa. Shadow Hunters have their own pantheon of Loa, you see, and each one represents a different sort of domain. For example you have Ogoun, Loa of Dire Hexes and War, while you also have Samedi, Loa of the restful sleep of the dead and Dambala, Loa of snakes and treachery. So there you have room for a Shadow Hunter Shaman, Hunter, Warrior, Shadow Priest, Holy Priest, Rogue and Warlock just through those three, and there are quite a few others! That being said, most tend to stick to Hunters and Shamans, from what I've seen.
Sounds just fine. Although remember to go with mostly human names, as they are the citizens of Gilneas which was a human kingdom once. Don't go crazy on like, deathrend, crazypaw. :D
You RP that after the worgen plague you either A. forgot your true name despite being "cured" and took a new name : OR that you shed your old life and picked a new name willingly
Thalanor man fenrir is a really good name, and if ur asking i guess u know that its a name of Scandinavian big wolf who must bring Ragnarok(apocalypse) he was also a son of Loki and blah blah blah
Тахир Хасенев Yep its a wolf god that was supposed to eat Odin when the world will end. Thats how i got the name :D Something like Goldrinn but evil :D
I have a Darkspear warlock named Zarjio, as a child he was killed and his soul stolen by the burning legion, but the void lord ,Kealos, freed his soul from the twisting nether and gave him sentience once more and infused him with the power of the dark beyond, Kealos told him that he wishes to put down the cycle of his endless of consuming the light. For eternity Kealos wished for one of great power to defeat it.kaelos knew that he wouldn't refuse the offer for Zarjio knows that this power is the only thing he can defend his home and family against the burning legion with. Zarjio's soul sent back to world of Azeroth now sets off to find and kill any demon whom is not his ally to destroy and take their power. Hows that?
Greetings Doronmovies, I just want to enquire if it's possible to create a troll that has the similar class, sub classes as Vol'jin because i really want to create a character who has Vol'jin's specifications. Please help me out by giving me some tips if possible and thank you for the video really helped a lot as i want to do a proper RP when i create my character and will not do so until i get some much needed info from you. ^^ thank you once again.
Hunter not shadow hunter Mage not witch doctor You can't be shadow hunter Priest is either hexer, loa priest or shadow priest Shaman is witch doctor or shaman Warlock not voodooist Comment below if there is some errors or more untouched race combos.
+Get Smurfed In lore, trolls have been known to be some of the most primal, savage, and bloodthirsty fighters in all of Azeroth. So a Warrior class built around building up rage to unleash against your enemies? Hell to the yes. The only thing I dislike about Troll Warriors is the fact that Plate is such a clean cut requirement to wear, barring RP gear, while most troll warriors don themselves in wood and fur. But that is purely a gameplay issue XD
Hello i was wondering if anyone could help me in starting a troll and i was wondering what professions would fit a shaman troll i was thinking Skinning Herbalism or mining if anyone knows please I'm still kinda a noob at rp and anything would help Ty ;3
Why would the Darkspear trolls hold sentiments agaist humans and elves for the war..? The war was between them and the Amani empire; not the Gurubashi. Darkspears are jungle trolls not forest trolls so they woudent know of the war or not participate in the war. Plus the Darkspear were either still in stranglethorn or already on there island both ways make it almost impossible to be around during the war or even know what humans are
They were all allied together before. You saw that Vol'Jin met the troll warlords even though he disagreed with them, but he still met them because he cared about the troll people. And humans and elves have been a pain for the trolls in general for ages.
Doronsmovies Yea, through if they knew who humans are than calling them strange pink skins must be a insult rather than a "I dont know who these fools are" Im referring to Warcraft 3 mission the trolls refer to them as strange pink skins or something along those lines
Devon Brown Yes but, so Thrall arrived w/ his orcs (No Grommash appentally) and discovered the trolls. They helped them w/ a few deeds such as making a potion and uncorrupting a well of healing, they discovered humans on the island and destroyed much of there base. Than the murlocs and the Sea Witch ( Not a naga yet prob due to it being Warcraft 3 and not Warcraft 3 the Frozen Throne ) show up and capture surviving humans, the orcs who attacked the human town and Thrall + Senjin. (Vol'jin was off on a spirit mission w/ Zan....(Dont remeber his name) This was revealed in Shadows of the Horde) So after breaking free and raising a small army of prisoners you break out but are too late to save Senjin. Hes sacrificed Sea Witch is pissed and begins to sink the island You repair your ships and leave w/ the trolls in tow (Its this point that lorewise Vol'jin shows up)
Duncan Stewart Zalzane? I dunno it was the evil witch doctor dude on the Echo Islands; him and Vol'jin were best friends appentally but he dident like how Vol'jin ruled + wanted power so he rebelled later in World of Warcraft

Trolls are known to be dishonorable? .Most of the Humans in the lore are known to be backstabbing, betraying more than the trolls? Thinking about the different Kingdoms and betrayal.
i roleplaye a bit as my troll druid, he is like that personality who just smoke weed drink beer and chill around lul
If the troll is like NOT a Darkspear troll ur guidelines work 100%
You are right I guess, although it still depends on the Darkspear. Not all Darkspears are like: Omg let's be allies! :)
Doronsmovies No your right about that; theres ALWAYS exceptions but the Darkspear are the most different to the other troll tribes
Could you RP a Warrior Troll that isn't as much Blood Thirsty?
I have a female troll priest named Kavijii. I just loved the name so I had to take it.
arkady116 Sounds pretty fitting for a troll.
thank you, I thought so too.
Mine is a restoration shaman troll his name is Karu'Jin
When the Darkspear joined the Horde they stopped eating living flesh and cannibalism entirely.
It's true, although it is said that things might have changed with Garrosh as the Warchief, although nothing drastic.
My troll rogue is named Zultiki, that mean Great(big?) Mask?
If it makes it any easier, generally my rule of thumb since there ARE those contradictions is that Zul can be interpreted as either Great OR Witch Doctor, so that I don't have any conflict with other RPers.
cant it help with the troll language if tou have a troll and a blood elf for example... write leader in troll language shouldnt the blood elf see *jin* then???
My troll shaman's name is Flamerage. What do you think of that Doron? Is it lore friendly?
I wouldn't really say it's lore friendly for a troll, although would be a great name for like a pet or something similar to that. Although you can kind of pull it off as some trolls have surnames so it can be Flamerage but that is very uncommon.
A good orc surname through
My troll hunter is named Zinnu. Is that good?
+Hopalong431 Sounds pretty good.
Will there be a video for death knights?
I don't know about doing one specifically, but had me thinking though. Because all of the races can become death knights, so I can't just cover it in one race guide. I'll see about it, depending on how things go. :)
ya know, WoWWiki is great for reading up on some of this stuff : /
Please tell me the name of the soundrack in the end of the Video Mon
But the Human/Elf Troll war's had nothing to do w/ the Darkspear to cause sentiments against them
My troll priest dont worship the loa, she believes in light like human for example.
Forsaken next? =o
The reason trolls. hate elfs is that they used the arcane power too hunt them down and took there land
i always belived that rogues was the closiest thing we would have to role a shadow hunter
I think a Shaman is a little closer. Basically a mix between Hunters Rogues and Shamans.
Hey Doron. I know its not the worgen video but i wanted to ask if is 'Fenirir' or 'Lester' a good Worgen name.
Doronsmovies
Ok. Thanks.
Thalanor man fenrir is a really good name, and if ur asking i guess u know that its a name of Scandinavian big wolf who must bring Ragnarok(apocalypse) he was also a son of Loki and blah blah blah
Тахир Хасенев
Yep its a wolf god that was supposed to eat Odin when the world will end. Thats how i got the name :D
Something like Goldrinn but evil :D
Hey you know what the loa system is some what like the warp from warhammer XD
Got a Troll beserker called Ra'chee would that work?
When your Jamaican and every tells you to play a Troll •_•
Yup that must suck
Hey man, I want to play a troll too, mainly because I practice voodoo
What do you think of "Razor" Ra'mon ?
+Mickael Cromwell "Hu'll" Ko'Gan seems better.
+iggy is a ok character i guess "Kris" Pen'Wah is also decent
good idea
oml im tired and I thought this was "how to roleplay troll in Warcraft" and not "how to roleplay as a troll in Warcraft" xd
Hows that?
edgy
thanks
That sounds very good lol I need help making a story for a Troll Druid Feral
EL1TEK1LLER001 thanks:)
EL1TEK1LLER001 Maybe he(or she) wants to be some sort of guardian of the darkspear and adopted being a druid to do so
Greetings Doronmovies, I just want to enquire if it's possible to create a troll that has the similar class, sub classes as Vol'jin because i really want to create a character who has Vol'jin's specifications. Please help me out by giving me some tips if possible and thank you for the video really helped a lot as i want to do a proper RP when i create my character and will not do so until i get some much needed info from you. ^^ thank you once again.
Eh mon, if a buch o da cats jump ontop of eachda, is it sdill called a dog pile?
Not the type of troll roleplay I was looking for.
Hunter not shadow hunter
Mage not witch doctor
You can't be shadow hunter
Priest is either hexer, loa priest or shadow priest
Shaman is witch doctor or shaman
Warlock not voodooist
Comment below if there is some errors or more untouched race combos.
Sorry, that was a mouthful thats about all ive to say about this subject
Is a troll warrior good?
No they are too skinny, lorewise yes - but Tauren and Orc look more able warriors.
+tickipooh eh they are pretty good actually. Tauren are a bit overused for warriors
But that is purely a gameplay issue XD
trolls compensate for their low strength with ,agility, ambushes, and mojo
Hello i was wondering if anyone could help me in starting a troll and i was wondering what professions would fit a shaman troll i was thinking Skinning Herbalism or mining if anyone knows please I'm still kinda a noob at rp and anything would help Ty ;3
Also, i'm offended. Trolls are people, as long as we're talking about the race.
#trolllivesmatter
de darkspea be witcha mon
What the fuck, i thought he was going to troll on a rp server
I could've sworn the lore with the darkspear was that they lived on an island conquered by murlocs and a naga witch?
I dunno it was the evil witch doctor dude on the Echo Islands; him and Vol'jin were best friends appentally but he dident like how Vol'jin ruled + wanted power so he rebelled later in World of Warcraft
don't know if I like trolls or tauren better
I like trolls and tauren as well, I always play a troll shaman and a tauren druid.
WowShesAPro I actually found out that I like goblins the most now I normally play my goblin warlock but I just started a troll shaman at lvl 30 now
personally I don't like the goblins, so I'd never play one but the female goblin cast animation is hilarious.
Obviously inspired by Mayans and Aztec and other ancient South American civilisations.
Da darkspears? bod, no mon yo crazy
