I wish there was a glyph to make your light spells appear silver like moonlight rather than yellow as to better suite RPing as a priestess of Elune. And same with the Tauren to make it look a bit more orange to look more like Sunlight when RPing a sunwalker.
I really miss classic WoW priest... Before the light was a convoluted entity and just confusing. Having mysterious forces and Gods in the world made it special and interesting.
Most undead priest can't hear the light anymore, but they can still use the magic behind it. Some get hurt, some of them don't. Its because of their old strong relationship with it, that's why you can find undead priests and not undead paladins. Paladins are a lot more like police officers of the light than teachers of the light. This being said undead can also heal using shadows, shadow mend for exemple can heal.
i'm imagining a forsaken priest and his group have someone get shot with an arrow "don't worry drakthar i was a priest in my past life i can fix you right up!" *casts spell* "than-" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGHHHHGGGGGG THE PAAAAIN WHHHYY GOD WHYYYY JESSUS EVERYTHING HURTS DEAR GOD WHYYYYY
Ashourii P Those are actually the ones I was thinking about but instead I went for the priest in order to finish it up with the paladins. One of those 2 will most likely be the next one. :)
Chriskon Machinima Thanks, these videos are esentially lore lessons with an rp spin, but it is a pretty important thing in order to understand your class better.
True that, i personally love my characters a lot more, after getting to know a bit about both the races background, and class, so i really appreciate your videos.
You forgot the pandarian and there priests. As a side note I do think pandarian's are a little similar to the night elf's in that instead of the moon they get there power from the red crane of hope and becases pandarian's are like all about balance that some in there society are not exactly evil but there shadow priests instead use the power of the sha instead of the shadow to balance things out.
DeathClawScout Yeah I did forge to mention that. I would honestly say it is a mix between the night elves and the trolls and they didn't even know what the Light is.
The Shadow thing is still kinda vague. What do other people in the in-game world think and say about Shadow magic? Is there a stigma surrounding it? Is there an inherent danger in its use? Is there a heavy price to be paid, does its use somehow break the morals of the followers of the Light?
I see it as a different philosophy and understanding the light, you still need faith to utilise it, but you just utilise it in a different way. Either that or the void works the same way as the light, and they're not users of the light.
Something like you saw lots of Violence and you got torcherd so you didn't want it happening to anyone else So you use the power of light to save people (the and if you are a shadow priest)you saw your parents torcherd so you got Mad and want to get your revenge (if this is bad I'm sorry I'm new to role playing)
Doronsmovies Makes as much sense to behonest if gnomes learned the light from the dwarves they can learn shaman craft from the dwarves to. I personally would tolerate gnome pure interest in the elementals then the goblins opertunity any day.
Doronsmovies I'm looking forward to this as my forsaken elf is a tailor and I might catch a thing or two I didn't know about what little lore they have on tailors in warcraft.
+Arraya I suppose, that Elune once was a night elf but at some point somehow got blessed by titanic watchers or Titans themselves (as once got blessed some of proto-drakes, becoming Aspects). This blessing was so powerful that Elune became some kind of titanic watcher herself. You ask me why I think she was a night elf? Well, Cenarius is a child of White Stag Malorne and Elune. He looks like a "centauric" half-stag-half night elf as his children, keepers of the grove and dryads do too. If Elune wasn't a night elf it would be very unlikely for them to have such appearance. Furthermore, I think that night elvish priests ingame actually do not represented as any priest spec at all, but as balance druids. We also know that troll and tauren druids may also worship Elune in some way (trolls maybe as a loa and taurens as Mu'sha), that's why balance druid = priest of Elune. Anyway, due to game mechanics, races who practice lunar, solar and astral power called druids, because their priesthood is very unique, while worshipping Light and Shadow is more common. And the third idea: If Elune is really once was a lesser being and had been known as tauren's Mu'sha, then it could be that tauren's An'she also was some kind of mortal being got blessed by Creators too (and if it's true, most likely by Eonar herself). And if she did, she was one of the very first of her kind, maybe not only Well of Eternity but Titans as well helped dart trolls to evolve in night elves. Sorry for the long post, got inspirated c:
Worgen can't be pally because they put up the wall and blocked themselves off before the brotherhood of the horse was put together. Thus they still had priests and the light
I'm RPing a Human priest in WoW! I have already started, and cannot wait to work with a guild! Might even start a guild of priests and paladins.... the Order of the New Light.... hmmm....
Elune is the WoW universes only true deity. It's been stated by Blizzard themselves. Meaning.. She's god.. Above everyone and everything. She's the single most powerful being in the Warcraft universe. Also.. She's not "both the light and dark" She's light. The Void Lords are the shadow. Worgen were NOT taught the way of the priest by the Night Elves. Worgen are humans. End of story. They learned the ways of the light from the church of the light like every other human in the game. Same with Undead. The Worgen Harvest Witches were taught Druidism by the Night Elves, but they were not taught about the light and void by them.
Hi again, I have to say , I do rather like it when your video's run a bit long, You tend to do mini lore and rp video's which usually are not any longer than is required to get the general info across, but that being said, when the subject matter requires more specifics you do a better job. For example I had never thought of how different culturally priest would actually be primarily because in combat they all preform the same spells. Giving them cultural subjectivity in this case made what I consider to be the most boring class in wow infinitely more interesting.
I would be interested on how you might play one of the rarer combinations of Race/Glass/Gender. There are some that you just do not see. Female undead warrior, or a troll monk or a Draenei Death knight. Combinations that are either so rare that they simple are not present enough in play to have guidelines set up or combinations that seem inherently conflicted.
Loved the video! I have a question regarding Shadow Priests with connection to the Old Gods. I'm not sure if you've answered this before but I have noticed similarities in powers that Shadow Priests have with Old Gods. For example the Mind Bender looks an awful lot like the Old God's minions, and the Shadow Tendrils as well resemble powers the Old Gods use. They also use a lot of psychological attacks the same way the old gods use their powers to manipulate their victims mentally. Are the Shadow priests somehow connected to the Old Gods or are they simply drawing their powers from the same source?
I'm just going to say. That blonde priest in the beginning in the white dress chatting with that dude on the bridge looks 100% like my priest and my friend. Oh my god, i swear to god. I'm sure it's my and my friend
I have difficulties creating a history for my dwarf priest, i know that they aren't really races that believe and understand the light fully, so i don't want to say that ''priest dwarf's' mother had faith in the light and so she did to', that's kinda weird, could someone help me have an idea of what i could write as my history
Matthew Ng They do. They can be great priests. The thing with the dwarves is that in their culture the Light isn't as prominent as it is for the humans for example. But you can still be super dedicated and have a family tradition if you want.
What do you think of the void that Anduin Wrynn leads all of Azeroths' forces against turning out to be A'dal in void lord form? Like what happened with the Naaru in Shadowmoon valley or M'uru/Entropius in The Sunwell. A'dal becoming a void lord is the only being besides Sargeras or an old god I can think of to be able to become this powerful.
Michael tremont I highly doubt that scenario since they did a similar thing with the Dark Star and the entire void dark cycle. I feel like the battle between the light and the dark will be between the combined forces of mortals of Azeroth versus the Burning Legion. It might be something different, but in my opinion it is the most likely scenario.
Hey Doron. I was wondering, trolls can regenerat becouse they worship the loa and the loa giv then thos powers, then could it be possible for other races to regenerate if they start worshiping them too, like if a human priest worshiped the loa insead of the light? Thank you and keep up the good work.
I don't really understand role playing priests that can wield both holy and shadow magic (most races anyway). Doesn't the ability to wield the light rely on an unwavering conviction? And wouldn't wielding shadow magic prevent that from being possible?
Doronsmovies Yes but it's the same like saying where there is life there is death. And not everyone would work to advance the goals of one equal to an other.
ZeD It is possible in the most recent times with all the Alliance and the Hordes but generally races stuck to one another. The draenei were almost always together, the humans were also split a part although as I said the dwarves and the gnomes joined them. The forsaken were also a society of their own, so you get my point. Although since all of the races are now mixed into one society it is possible that they can be thought different ways of the Light.
grafspe807 I can see their reason for doing so, because let's be honest only a smaller portion of players care about the lore and about 95% of people skip quest text. I've seen people complain before of how there is too much rp or story when blizzard does something cinematical. So they got to adjust the majority, although I honestly wish they made some of the lore more clear instead of making confusing.
pandarens better looks as monks or shamans. Priest are not for pandaren. because they're neutrals. (not friendly, not bad) so very evil priest are bad for them and very good light power priests are bad for them too. pandaren priest sucks :(
The comment about balancing light and darkness really depends on how your server interprets what the Light is. On Moon Guard we roleplay that darkness is the absence of Light (goodness). To say that light and darkness should be balanced is heretical.
Qienna X I guess it could depend on your rp group, but it is more of a lore thing, I just wish blizzard was more clear on things like this instead of making it a place for a bunch of speculations.
I love playing priests, but I hate that Blizzard put Christianity into the game. It really has no place in a video game like this, and I think it's silly.
You could totally be a draenei voice actor
Sasha Nein i was just thinking that holy moly
I wish there was a glyph to make your light spells appear silver like moonlight rather than yellow as to better suite RPing as a priestess of Elune. And same with the Tauren to make it look a bit more orange to look more like Sunlight when RPing a sunwalker.
They should make it a racial trait thing!
This is an awesome idea you should start a forum post!
I am still breathing in my copium hoping it happens one day... 😷
I'm convinced Elune is a Loa, Nigh Elves were Trolls, right?
Oh boy do I have news for you
bless you for trying your best to present warcraft lore as comprehensive as you can
Cleric or Cultist, that's basically how priest RP goes.
I really miss classic WoW priest... Before the light was a convoluted entity and just confusing.
Having mysterious forces and Gods in the world made it special and interesting.
14:46 Min.: Calia Menethil and Alonsus Faol be examples for holy priests that be undead ^^
Praise the Sun!
If the undead felt pain every time the heal and know the light has given up on them that means they have better faith than that of a draini
Believe me, the draenei have witnessed horrible and unspeakable things in their 25000+ years to make their faith strong as iron.
I think I'm gonna start an undead shadow priest. Pretty sure it's the only class I've meet tried, and I love warlocks.
*havent
TheMysteriousDumbaz1 the main reason i liked your corrment was because of your profile picture 😂
I recently began playing as a human shadow priest, and I am really enjoying the feel and allure of the darkness.
I was actually waiting for a how to rp a priest guide for a while thx for that!
The void lords = Outer god in lovecraft mythos, and the Old god = Great old one.
I have watched and like all the RP guides. Really appreciate all your work man. on the channel and with all the movies. keep it up!
Dustin May Thanks. :)
i'm imagining a forsaken priest and his group have someone get shot with an arrow "don't worry drakthar i was a priest in my past life i can fix you right up!" *casts spell* "than-" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGHHHHGGGGGG THE PAAAAIN WHHHYY GOD WHYYYY JESSUS EVERYTHING HURTS DEAR GOD WHYYYYY
Wow, that's a great summary of priest types & lore.
Well done!
Dr.Lore Thanks. :)
+Doronsmovies I would love to RP with you some time. I'm thinking of a Shadow Priest character.
Would be so neat if we had a brand new video about this with the new races, im eager to see the Nightborne, the Void elves and the Zandalari!
Loved it! Maybe Mage or Monk next? Whatever one you do id love to see it.
Ashourii P Those are actually the ones I was thinking about but instead I went for the priest in order to finish it up with the paladins. One of those 2 will most likely be the next one. :)
Yay! I look forward to it.
Cheers for the guide, always love watching these videos, even though i dont really roleplay :p
Chriskon Machinima Thanks, these videos are esentially lore lessons with an rp spin, but it is a pretty important thing in order to understand your class better.

I always felt Pandaren Priests were more like the Tauren in a sense that they are "Sun Worshipers"

"Gnome shamans" Mistakes.
Jaridavin Yeah saw that, ment to say goblin shaman.
Doronsmovies If you haven't yet, put an annotation at least saying, "Goblin*"
Doronsmovies Makes as much sense to behonest if gnomes learned the light from the dwarves they can learn shaman craft from the dwarves to.
I personally would tolerate gnome pure interest in the elementals then the goblins opertunity any day.
I have an idea to create more work for you ^^'
How does man roleplay professions?
Smiths, trappers, tinkerers, miners ect
ouroborosi Yes, that is something I've had planned for a bit now. I think I will start a profession series after I'm done with the classes.
Doronsmovies I'm looking forward to this as my forsaken elf is a tailor and I might catch a thing or two I didn't know about what little lore they have on tailors in warcraft.
A question I have is how the Pandaren can be priests? I mean, they don't worship the light, but they still have priests. Just curious.
Tauren priests are like the spiritwalkers from warcraft 3
Really nice video o/
RedMegamanX1 Thanks. :)
Good job amazing video, i would like to see a guide on how to rp a rogue in the future.
Thanks doron, great video, only class i consider myself an expert at.
I think that Elune is the titan-spirit sleeping on Azeroth by speculation of the Warcraft Chronicles book from what I have read so far.
+Arraya I suppose, that Elune once was a night elf but at some point somehow got blessed by titanic watchers or Titans themselves (as once got blessed some of proto-drakes, becoming Aspects). Worgen can't be pally because they put up the wall and blocked themselves off before the brotherhood of the horse was put together. Thus they still had priests and the light
In a way the Tauren are like the Arakoa in Draenor, worshipping the sun, and gain their powers from such worship.
How powerful are priests
I'm RPing a Human priest in WoW! I have already started, and cannot wait to work with a guild! Might even start a guild of priests and paladins.... the Order of the New Light.... hmmm....
Could I join? (Paladin), btw what realm?
I'm on Wyrmrest Accord. It's better than moonguard.
Elune isn't the mother of Cenarius. O.o Ysera is. It was revealed in the War of the Ancients trilogy.

I love your accent. Just going to put that out there.

I'm just going to say. That blonde priest in the beginning in the white dress chatting with that dude on the bridge looks 100% like my priest and my friend. Oh my god, i swear to god. I'm sure it's my and my friend
If you're german and you don't have memories of Barlows Blog and his Holy Priest Role Play Server after this, then you're a newbie.
Nightelfs are blind. They refuse to see the truth...
Pozz Doron gledam tvoja videa i super si,ali nikada nisam mislio da si s balkana pošto na balkanu nema puno ljudi koji prate lore.
I have difficulties creating a history for my dwarf priest, i know that they aren't really races that believe and understand the light fully, so i don't want to say that ''priest dwarf's' mother had faith in the light and so she did to', that's kinda weird, could someone help me have an idea of what i could write as my history

So the Light and Shadow is like the Force in Star Wars?

Gilneas didn't have paladins because their isolation created separation from the Church and the paladin order tradition.
Hey Doron. I was wondering, trolls can regenerat becouse they worship the loa and the loa giv then thos powers, then could it be possible for other races to regenerate if they start worshiping them too, like if a human priest worshiped the loa insead of the light? Thank you and keep up the good work.
Milan Kukic Thanks. I think the regeneration thing is more of a racial thing instead of a religion thing.
Hey I have a query: How can Pandaren be priests? (I know that some could have converted to the Light but are there any other reasons?)
A completly diffrent question do you play Guild Wars 2 also ?
You should update them with the new races
Does anyone know what is the headpiece on the human priest in the thumbnail?
Did anyone noticed that all Alliance races can be priests ?
I don't really understand role playing priests that can wield both holy and shadow magic (most races anyway). Doesn't the ability to wield the light rely on an unwavering conviction? And wouldn't wielding shadow magic prevent that from being possible?
Dan Jones It is a confusing thing, but the way Blizzard explains it is. "When there is Light there is darkness."
Doronsmovies Yes but it's the same like saying where there is life there is death.
And not everyone would work to advance the goals of one equal to an other.
So is there anyway to be an undead shadow priest that heals? If so how would that work? Would I use some sort of...ehh...shadow light? XD
The Blood Elves get their Light Power from the current Sunwell.
But this is all just generally speaking.
I'm sure there are individuals who have learned the way of the light in the way of another race.
ZeD It is possible in the most recent times with all the Alliance and the Hordes but generally races stuck to one another. The draenei were almost always together, the humans were also split a part although as I said the dwarves and the gnomes joined them. Weren't Gilneans the most religious people before Gilneases independence?
Well they are more like jedi from Star Wars. Dark side and light side of the "force" and all
You almost entirely ignored shadow priests.
ve always thought of pally as a hero class there like a mix between warrior and priest
AiRe D3ATH Yeah pretty much, they are warriors powered by the Light.
Light does not follow personal motivation where do you get this from?
Did you know he has a light lore video?
But How The Holy Priest Talks (Humans) (RP)?
pandaren?
are a joke
Hey dorons i have a question
Is isle of thunder zandalar they have similar shape
Kuba CoCięToObchodzi I don't think it is.
Also they are both on the south seas
Do no wrong you say? Well mabey i should stop using holy fire on bunnies in ashenvale...
wait, so can worgens be shadow priests in terms of lore
Bridget Freeland in lore anyone can be a shadow priest. All it takes is either the worship of the void, or they decide to use those powers.
Why do you always forget pandaren? ):
Where is Doron from?
Bart Ebbers Serbia.
Sadly Blizz has said game play triumphs lore every times
grafspe807 I can see their reason for doing so, because let's be honest only a smaller portion of players care about the lore and about 95% of people skip quest text. I've seen people complain before of how there is too much rp or story when blizzard does something cinematical. So they got to adjust the majority, although I honestly wish they made some of the lore more clear instead of making confusing.
Doronsmovies I agree and I understand from their point of view why they need to
Plsss do rogue next plss
They are just criminals
I believe the d&d guide is good enough
just make sure you dont stock little timmy too much....
Haha, saw my gnome guild in this :)
Do monk!!
Omg it's my guild at 0:03
How about a "How to role play a demon hunter"
Darklord Productions Easy, you don't.
Darklord Productions I remember seeing you guys lining up yesterday, so thought it would make a good roleplaying shot. :)
how about panda priests?
pandarens better looks as monks or shamans. Priest are not for pandaren. because they're neutrals. (not friendly, not bad) so very evil priest are bad for them and very good light power priests are bad for them too. pandaren priest sucks :(
nic Pandaren priests are just temple priests/priestesses. They do the the rites and help the people with worship.
so if youre an atheist u cant play priest or paladin? :P
Time to learn some role playing skill m8!
Sadly this Videos doesnt even scratches the surface of priest lore and rp :/
I love playing priests, but I hate that Blizzard put Christianity into the game. It really has no place in a video game like this, and I think it's silly.
Confusing.
Which part?
You should do Monks next ;)
