That was the moment when viewers realized that Hughie truly became one of The Boys. Translucent already threatened him once before, and Hughie decided that he didn't want to go back to his old life and probably knew that the Supe was only telling him what he wanted to hear.

If i remember, they later found his skin in a box, in the ocean.
His skin was probably hard enough to handle the explosion from the outside, vut not the pressure from the inside. "Light a firecracker in your open hand and it will burn, close your fist on it and you'll lose your hand".
His skin probably reached the point of rupture, expelling his organs and broken bones outside, but still resisting enough to prevent hughie from being blasted by the explosion.
This doesnt disintegrated his skin, so the remaining torned skin was founded in the ocean later.
It's his skin that has his proprieties, that's why all his organs were visible and melted by the explosion but not the skin which only reached rupture but wasnt desintagrated.

Translucent was all nervous and impatient and couldn't wait for Homelander to rip them to shreds, when in reality he couldn't care less and has been talking face to face with his killers in multiple ocasions without killing them. He couldn't care less about Translucent.
Homelander would absolutely kill them if he found them.
Not because he cares about Translucent, but because mud people should never raise a hand against gods (his agenda).

He went invisble because if he didn't he could get over powered by butcher and frenchie. Hes pretty weak as a supe so he doesnt have any idea what could be on the other side of the door, so he went invisible to get an advantage over his enemies.

Its kindof worrying the amount of people thinking his skin wouldve exploded like a frag grenade, the entire point is his skin is invulnerable, his insides arent. Blowing him up meant his insides turned to mush and flew out his holes. The skin was still intact

It's on prime, so if you don't have it, you should rent it for a month so you can watch this show and the spin off. The gist of it is gritty superheros from a regular person's pov. (Very minor season 1 spoilers) main character gets his girl atomized when a speedster high on a drug accidentally ran through her. Show is full of stuff like that so fair warning but ots a great dark comedy/action show

To be fair it would depend on the amount of explosives. Wouldn't it just liquify the insides and vent pressure out the mouth, eyes, nose and anus.

Definitely, the amount used would dictate a lot of that. But the majority has gotta be placement. The meaty parts like stomach, anus, etc.. would soften that impact a lot more. But swap that out for the skull, arms, or legs, basically anywhere with majority bone/flesh. but if the amount is more than a Kilogram of C4 and you're basically a walking frag grenade regardless of where that's placed on/in your body
I was a medic in the Reserves here in Aus and have a few mates serving in Ukraine as medics and ambulance drivers, mostly in casualty collection points and the like. And they've all said a great deal of secondary shrapnel wounds from AP mines is actually wet shrapnel.
Say you're walking in a line and you don't keep your spacing, I step on a mine, and you're 10 feet or closer, you run the risk of taking both metal and/or bone fragments from my mine, and AP mines, in all terms of explosives, don't have that much bang. But being it's the foot that goes bang. That's a lot of bones, and not a lot of meat.
There's even some AP mines that are straight up, just plastic explosive and a polyurethane shell, essentially undetectable to sweepers. They primarily rely on wet shrapnel to cause most of the secondary damage.

If his skin is made of diamonds on the outermost layer(s) then everything still holding it together deeper than that would still be able to get torn apart by an explosion. It’s not like the diamond skin is connected to diamond blood vessels, veins, tissue, tendons, bones, etc.. It would still rip apart because what’s holding it together is completely destroyed

@@macrogaming8003 I don't buy that, the explosion is too fast, no signal could travel faster than that. When the bomb goes off, his skin cells should still be alive and healthy with no idea their host is dead yet. That's just basic physics and would apply to anyone. On top of that, every time he activates or deactivates his powers in the show, it takes a moment for the transition to spread over his body. It was never once established to be instant. Even if he intentionally deactivated his powers moments before the detonation, there's no way his powers could have deactivated in the time it takes for the explosion to reach his skin.
Blood and guts should have erupted from his mouth and butt before he collapses onto the floor and his powers deactivate to reveal a squishy, partially deflated, skin waterballon.

I would think that diamond hard skin exploding would hurt if it hit you.
All these people talking about how his skin is hard as diamond and therefore the explosion should be contained, totally oblivious to the fact that diamonds are surprisingly fragile and can be damaged by the force of somebody hitting their ring on something really hard or at a bad angle.
Diamonds are hard, harder than most substances, so they can't be easily scratched, but diamonds can be easily destroyed by an impact depending on the cleavage pattern of the diamond. Moreover, if the diamond has any kind of defect resulting in it having internal pressure in its crystal lattice, it can explode quite easily, so if Translucent's diamond balloon of a skinsuit is made to stretch and bend from the force of a contained C4 explosive, odds are the bonds of his skin won't do much.
Short question: why did his skin get damaged. This is some real „I’m gonna cut it (or 8n this case explode it) from the inside“ action. It makes sense that he dies, but his skin should still be intact

Ngl, I think you ought to take Morva Tarth. Like, yeah, it's indefensible but worst case scenario, you'll get 2k cash, like a 300 per turn income stream and got a full region of quickly placed towers to act as an early warning buffer for Mt. Gram.
Best case scenario, it never gets assaulted and you'll eventually get to recruit Snow Trolls from there.
