Interesting video as usual Tom, thanks. Those are great tips on using carpet protector. That siliconing was pretty amazing! Looks like they had no nozzle on the tube and the concept of smoothing had eluded them!
"This'll be the day I die..." _ I was screaming - 'GLOVES' more than once at the top of my voice but you get it done Tom - I reckon you're the top RUclips Heating Engineer and fair play, you turn your hand to anything - Chapeau!!
Very good idea Tom with the shower Door 👍 if works don’t knock it,thanks for the time you put into your video Tom , have a good weekend 👍👍👍👍👍👍🎄🎄🎄🎄🍺🍺🙋♂️
Hi Tom, yep I know those shower screens can be a pain and the clean up is time consuming too. I don’t enjoy working under pressure these days, I think I’m too old now for that. Another great film thanks Tom, take care. 👍👍👍
Glad your busy tom, sometimes just need to step back and take a breather, ie a day off to catch up with other things and less stress, keep up the vids when you can mate always enjoy them 👍
That glass isn't very sharp to be honest, it like the stuff they use in newer cars where the edges are designed not cut when the glass breaks, thanks for the support as always John
Hi Tom… yes you definitely need a new plunger😂 Regarding that secondary pump we use to have to remove the stand by pump as it could cause a legionnaires risk … and just have the pump on a bracket as a spare but not piped to the system. God that shower screen didn’t half go pop🙈
Hi Tom i was screaming with your facial emotion and pain mate done the same job many times, ten tubes of silicone and it still leaked all the best for christmas to you and family🎄🎄
It might work but the silcone is also behind the glass into the wall profile, it's trying to break the bond without breaking the glass, thanks for watching as always Pete
I use a wire cheese cutter to cut through the silicone to remove the screen profiles, put the wire at the top and pull it down, works great and no damage to the tiles.
The problem on these ones is you can't get to the screws without getting the glass out which is stuck in, if I had used the wire behind the profile I might have been able to pull the plugs and screws out, they are just a pain, thanks for watching as always mate
I have never fitted one, but they look handy. To be honest in my area, the water board has fitted all new stop taps outside, so switching the water off is never really an issue. I guess they could be handy in flats or shared supplies, but generally I always try to switch off just in case anything goes wrong
Gloves probably would have been a good idea, my skin is quite thick now on my hands because I've never worn them, thanks for the support as always mate
People pay thousands for shattered glass these days, it’s art! Great idea with carpet protector. That Viesman is mad as surely it’s more flow to just run flow and return and pop a zone valve in with stat. Than run it through a plate on a combi
Thanks for the support mate, I couldn't work out why they had piped the boiler up like that, it probably worked out more expensive for them as the cylinders come with a zone valve and stat
@@plumbertime I just try and do my best, not everything always goes well and some jobs aren't always the greatest but you can only ever do what you can do
The Viessmann ain’t a Combi, it’s a 4-pipe system boiler. Outer pipes are heating flow & return, inner ones are hot water cylinder flow & return. We fit a few like this. They work on hot water priority. Bit pointless using one in that installation though. Gloves Tom please😮
It is a good idea if you want hot water priority, but like you say it's a bit pointless on this, I did a Worcester a couple of years ago with priority hw, like you day it is a system boiler, I just got myself muddled, thanks for watching as always mate
I don't know, I thought I had knocked it but looking at the footage I was no where near it, most likely a vibration through the wall just slightly turning the handle, or a ghost perhaps, thanks for watching mate
They had certainly pumped it full, I don't know what it was they used but it stained the tray, I got it all clean off but it left a tinge, thanks for watching as always mate
What a top tip that carpet protector trick is Tom…..that is gonna be copied from now until eternity.
Excellent vid again mate.
It certainly saves the cleaning up and glass going everywhere, thanks for the support as always
Well done getting that shower screen out, it looked a nightmare job. Thanks for all the effort you put into your channel Tom. 👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks for the support as always Andy
Interesting video as usual Tom, thanks.

Thanks for the support as always Steve, it's safe to say it wasn't done by a mastic man

@@PlumbLikeTom what the hell did you use to remove all that silicone?

Thanks for the support as always mate, gloves might have been a good idea, I didn't actually cut myself though, my hands are quite tough now
All in days work, smart to cover the glass and experience is a good teacher👍👍👍👍if only the students would learn🤓🤓🤓🤓

That screen looked a nightmare Tom, great content as usual mate, did you work out what the shower came on?
I don't know why the shower came on, it must have been vibrations knocking the handle, thanks for the support as always mate
Brilliant tip with the carpet cover Tom,
😎🤜👍
Thanks for the support as always Tony, the carpet protector saves a lot of clearing up

Thanks for the support mate, fair point with the legionella, I'm surprised it's not been picked up on this site, the shower screen did go with a bang
Hello Tom, yep I know those shower screens can be a pain I've broken a few in my time thank you for the upload once again

use a multi tool to cut the silicone down either side of the screen. also multi solv helps dissolve the silicone

Hi Tom, a question related to a different product, what do you think of the Aladdin EasyFit Isolator. Have you ever fitted one of these?
I have never fitted one, but they look handy. To be honest in my area, the water board has fitted all new stop taps outside, so switching the water off is never really an issue. I guess they could be handy in flats or shared supplies, but generally I always try to switch off just in case anything goes wrong

Doesn't look like brick dust more like rot spores.
I think they cored the extra fan after the toilet had been fitted, which was directly above, thanks for watching mate
Why did the shower come on?
