Hi Tom, the more you look the more you find needs putting right. I know what you mean, some jobs just turn into a nightmare. Have a great weekend mate and as always take care. 👍👍👍
that 2nd job look like a homeowner special. looks like they put it together with whatever they had lying around. it looks so much better after you working your magic. what you do to messes like these and make them look and function better, to me at least, is the sign of a true tradesman. great work.
while you're here job... today I was at a customer's house sorting their cold rads... she hands me a check-a-trade leaflet for the local area, hands me her phone and asks me to ring an electrician and tell him about her electric problems!!!!! I knew nothing about any electrical issues she was having at the property! She was very vulnerable... amazing how many people out there are... take care of them people. They need someone watching out for them.
No problem Tom if your busy as and when you can get them out. Yep don't you just love those while you are here 😂 some go ok and some are a nightmare. Have also had some strange request. Blending valve and pipe work looks a lot better now . Pity about you finding the waste pipe problem. That's a job you should have kept your eyes closed 😂😂
My apprentice once laughed at me when he asked why my eyes were closed, I told him I could see better that way, a few months later he came to me and said wow you really can see what you are doing better with your eyes closed, this only works of course when you cant actually see the fittings your working on, I dont work blind all the time 🤣
The problem I found with just when your here mate, is they never wanted to pay for it, "why are you charging me for that when you were here anyway" same as if you can do it sometime when you are passing "sure you were in the area anyway" I responded to that with I can book you in on such a day.
Yep hate when they try and pile 3 or 4 other jobs on top once you’re there. How many times have you spent longer on the while you’re here job than the original job 😂
I do understand that sometimes people want to sneak an extra job in, I would probably try and do the same to be honest, thanks for the support as always
What a couple of fiddly jobs Tom, customers think you have nothing else to do but other bits they never initially mention, used to push my buttons to be honest, and they always expect it done for nothing 😅 take care 👍🚽
while your here can you do a days work in 5 mins. the narrad tool is good, but is very expensive, but you deserve it. buy your self one. i am eventually. you can get deep sockets for the nuts. but sometimes the socket is to thick to get between the nut and the flexis. good tip to keep left overs, i have dropped the nuts into the bottomless pit a few times. just to add those touch pop up waste get jammed after a few weeks, i just fit a plastic plug, if customer insists, they want it , then any sticking pop up. recall is chargable.
I keep looking at it, I've bought tools in the past and not had much use from them, It does look a handy set though, thanks for the support as always Tony
Hi Tom so many times i've done this over the years and most of the time you end replacing the old drain pipework because it leaks and takes so much time trying to stop it, them taps are crap my daughter had some fitted in her bathroom, ended up replacing them, anyway mate we do are best so you have good christmas and all the best.
cheers as always buddy - really informative... Thinking of those basins.... waste, sink side and underneath..... what are your thoughts on plumbers mate vs. silicone? I always used to silicone but found it would go mouldy over time.... since using plumbers mate, you can use the sink immediately, never had one leak and no mould around edges.... Wishing you a happy Christmas.
I use silicone but I know a lot of plumbers use plumbers mate, I've been thinking of switching over to those basin mates, they are supposed to be leak free everytime, thanks for the support as always John
Hi Tom, Great video as per usual. Nice to see you so upbeat for a change, ( no insult intended). How do i go about sending you your C/Mas present as a thank you for your Great videos throughout this year. Regards, Dave.
Thanks for the support as always Dave, I really appreciate the offer of a present mate, I honestly would sooner any money spent go to the cash for kids charity so a child with nothing gets something on Christmas.
