We do a bit of estuary fishing up at Arnside, Gaz. Beautiful spot, stunning views and, yes, Arnside Chippy is legendary. Gotta be haddock all day long, mate👍.
We were in Arnside last month and had already had fish and chips in Grange earlier. Going again in July looks like you've decided our lunch venue already. They look incredible. ❤
Used to work in a chippy here in Scotland. You should ask a chip shop if they will sell you a container of their undiluted vinegar, that way you can add as much or as little amount of water to dilute it to your taste. Love your channel.

Few yrs ago I subscribed to their channel. Then they redid the whole shop and webcam was down for awhile. Loved watching them cook up all the menu items. I think it was called the Arnside Chippy. Back then that street wasn’t busy and there weren’t other attractions there. Now it seems folks have discovered this little gem.
It's nice when you come across a nice consistent chippy, where I live we had two chippies,cold chips,small fish tasteless fish dry on the end,one of them batter goes slightly darker because they over do their standard fry,if I want decent fish&chips I have to do a 40 minute round trip what a shame.

Another cracking fish and chip shop is located on the river Dee side of the Wirral penninsula at parkgate . Also an amazing ice cream shop close by. Well worth a visit to a lovely little gem of an area .
My Grandad lived in Arnside. We had fish and chips when we visited . Mind you that was 44years ago! They were great then. Glad things haven’t changed. 🤩
Gaz, do you folks in the UK ever use tartar sauce for your fish and chips? I'm originally from Massachusetts (New England) and tartar sauce is the default sauce for fish, shrimp, clams, etc. Some places do offer malt vinegar and I've tried it but I prefer tartar sauce. Just curious

Alright Gaz, I’ll be up your way next week we’re staying at that Haven caravan site where you stayed last year. We’re all heading up for me Mum’s 90th birthday. We used to have a caravan when we were kids. It was called the Ponderosa back in them days can’t wait to try that chippy out👍😝
I visited Arnside about 15 years ago and stayed at the YHA (now gone). What a town - one of my favourites. I'd spend hours watching the water rush in and then rush out, but I never knew about this fish and chip shop, more's the pity!

Looked wonderful Gaz! You keep rabbiting on about; "Mushy Peas" so I thought about making some myself to go with my usual home-prepared Fish and Chips! Warmed up some frozen Garden Peas, strained them, mashed them up with Butter, Pepper, and a drop of Milk, took one taste, and then dumped it into the trash can! Never again! Next time I will heat up a Tbsp of frozen Garden Peas, strain them, and drop them onto my plate with a big knob of butter and pepper! Simple stuff! No mashing involved! .... P.S.; I fitted a; "Cats Fur" over the remote USB Mic on my Action Camera, to stop wind noise on my motorcycle rides...(no cats were harmed in the process...trust me!). Take care all! You can't make proper mushy peas with garden peas! Get some marrowfat processed peas, add salt, and a sprinkle of sugar. Mix well before serving. THOSE are proper mushy peas. (If you're having them with a roast, also add a bit of mint sauce.)
There was a time when fish and chip shops had buttered bread for sale. Also, so many fish shops now are run by Mediterranean's using frozen fish and french fries instead of chips! My local fish and chip shop is like that, so I need a bus journey to the nearest real one!

I've been going to Arnside Chippy for many years and the fish is always excellent. Another recommendation in you're in Arnside if you walk down the coast footpath is the Bob-In Cafe which does a superb cooked breakfast. 😋
That looked absolutely cracking Gareth. Best Fish & Chips I've had recently was at the National Gallery for Scotland in Edinburgh. If you are ever in Edinburgh I highly recommend the Gallery restaurant.
Have you been to saltburn by the sea , restaurant called sea view restaurant, they have a takeaway downstairs which is so busy and a restaurant upstairs is amazing
Have used this many a time especially when I used to work 12 hour shifts - someone would phone an order through then go and collect them usually about 25 portions - always fantastic
Looks spot on does that pal. Would have had to slip a battered sausage into the order with bit of Salt and Malt on it to snack on whilst standing aside and waiting for your order😂😂. You're making me hungry watching you eat that gorgeous fish n chip meal. I had one on wednesday from a chippy in Burnham-on-crouch called the Jolly Frier, had mine with a wally, cost £13.00 but was delicious....it was cooked in beef dripping too. 😋

I've been going to Arnside Chippy for many years and the fish is always excellent. Another recommendation in you're in Arnside if you walk down the coast footpath is the Bob-In Cafe which does a superb cooked breakfast. 😋

That looked absolutely cracking Gareth. Best Fish & Chips I've had recently was at the National Gallery for Scotland in Edinburgh. If you are ever in Edinburgh I highly recommend the Gallery restaurant.

Have you been to saltburn by the sea , restaurant called sea view restaurant, they have a takeaway downstairs which is so busy and a restaurant upstairs is amazing

Have used this many a time especially when I used to work 12 hour shifts - someone would phone an order through then go and collect them usually about 25 portions - always fantastic
Looks spot on does that pal. Would have had to slip a battered sausage into the order with bit of Salt and Malt on it to snack on whilst standing aside and waiting for your order😂😂.

Here in Canada, as far as I know, mushy peas (or any veg) with fish 'n chips is an alien concept. At least to me it seems incongruous. Stranger, even, than cheddar cheese on apple pie. 😊
