Thanks Rob. I do tend to have conversations with the wildlife! But robins seem to listen and they're such lovely birds. He didn't seem to mind anyway. Van is sorted, but there's more issues now. All good fun when you own an old campervan!
1:50 love that bench! You have done a really good job travelling solo in the series even though you have had all these issues with the van. Those gardens looked lovely Helen! Loved that Robin! Still my favourite birds!
Thanks very much, appreciate the kind words.😊 The bench was beautiful and agree, robins are so lovely. I was really close and it just sat there listening to me like I'm a mad woman lol. I always talk to the birds when I see them, especially robins.
Wow those sunsets were beautiful, hope you got the van fixed, water problems are the worst to try and find , fingers crossed for you Helen..👊👍🥰🚌🏴🐕
Oh dear Helen there’s always problems, I hope Karl can get it sorted for you. Beautiful gardens and scenery superbly filmed as always, thanks for sharing and please take care and be safe.Byyyeeee🚐
@ericlacey6593 hello Eric, hope you are well. Yes, the things got fixed but there's other issues now. Always something with these old vans, although the new ones don't fair well either really!
Sorry the trip came to an end …. There is always a gut wrench feeling when a van issue happens it always dominates the day …… Chin up Hope your both well …..
You're right there, it certainly does, especially when there's nothing you can do about it til you get back. We're OK thanks. Hope you're both well too.🙂
Thanks Mary. Yes, it all got fixed and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Just a shame I had to go home a couple of days early, but at least it happened at the end and not the beginning. I'd have cried if it had happened after I'd set off. Wolfie sends you his love.💜🐾
I've really enjoyed this series, Helen Thank you. I will be visiting the same areas in May. May be time for a diesel heater? I wouldn't be without mine.
Aw, thank you so much😊 I do have a diesel heater, but it does drain the batteries in the cold dark winter. The gas heating uses less but it needs sorting. I'm really glad you've enjoyed the videos and it's great to hear you're going to be visiting these places. I'm hoping to get back to Scotland at some point in the next few months. Make sure you get some Smidge or something similar for the midges. I'd say Lochranza and Glen Sannox on Arran were the worst and also Loch Doon in Dumfries and Galloway.
Pleased you had overall positive vibe about this trip. You seemed pretty down at times early on. Look forward to seeing you both on another adventure in Raymond. I’m sure Mr B (fix it) will have all the jobs sorted in no time on The Nook.
I did really enjoy it and definitely don't mind travelling solo, especially when the nights are lighter. The van issues can be a real downer at times as there always seems to be something going wrong. Good job I married Karl! Everything got fixed, but I've been in Somerset for two weeks and now there's more issues 😆 Hopefully we will get them sorted between us in the next few weeks.
So frustrating when ya get those stupid little van problems. That’s why I’m not bothering with integrated stuff in my self conversion. I can’t be bothered with the faff….especially as I don’t really know how to fix most of them. 🤦🏽♀️ keeping it simple this time. You stayed at some gorgeous places though 😊 Thanks for sharing your journeys as always ❤
I certainly don't blame you, it is a lot of faff. My son wants to do a van conversion but he needs to stop spending his money first and save it! I loved the trip despite the van issues. Hope you and George are well 💜🐾
It’s not over!!! Just a little wobble, it’s fixable, you have a great van keep it. Your running bunny says so!!!lol 😂 beautiful castle and gardens wow. 😮 keep your pecker up lol 😂 enjoy life 🏴🇬🇧😍🐕🦺😂🏴🇺🇸🙏
Thanks, Kimberley. Yes, only blips, but when you're on the road, you can't fix them, unfortunately. I'm just glad the trip was nearly over anyway. The nature reserve and the gardens were great and well worth a visit. Definitely not getting rid of the van, I love my adventures with Wolfie. Not long til you're over!
Im glad you enjoyed your trip sweetheart old vans for you Helen they can get you down but once its doneyour always waiting for the next job 😂😂😂 take care my lovelys ❤️
You're right there Charlie. Everything got fixed and now the gas heating is playing up and the blinds are knackered again! Every trip something breaks, but I still love my solo adventures. It was a great adventure, despite the constant van issues 😂
Hello Helen Karl and woolfie hope your all ok sorry not been in touch been non stop here as always lol but I'm still here and watching and liking loving the vids but wow you been having a few problems with the van but hope you will sort them and get back out in the wild anyway you all take care all the best love from our family to you ❤
@roaminginraymond that's true and I will know the feeling soon as we looking at getting a partly build camper around April and it's going to be oldish to as on a tight budget but we will be using it daily and for camping so if it needs something then I will just get it fixed but yeah we ok just been extremely busy with Christmas and our eldest birthday that's just gone and he is now 13 😱 but looking forward to future with the van once got it lol.
Shame about the water, could you not isolated the tank and run on cold and a kettle? Lovely video though and great to here the bees. Grace says hello to Wolfie.
Yeah, that's what Karl has done now. Just glad it happened when I was heading south and not on the way up. That would have completely peed me off to say the least lol. Hopefully Grace and Wolfie will get to meet this year.🐾🐾
Good trip overall. I’m sure Karl will have it fixed in no time.I always carry 4 x 5l water containers just in case run out of water, or pump let’s me down. 1 has a tap I share between them.
I have a 10 litre for my cups of tea lol, but I don't think there was much left in there. I did enjoy the trip and things are fixed, although I still have blind issues and now the gas heater is playing up. Always something! Hope you're well Richard.
FILMED IN SUMMER 2024
Cracking bench and a lovely interaction with the Robin. Hopefully your van is all sorted now. All the best to you all. 👍🚐🐾🐾😎

Such a shame you had to go home early!
Nice castle.
Those purple flower beds with all the bees!
Lovely sunset
Boyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeee
Yeah, did my head in at the time, but both the Threave places were worth visiting. Have you ever been to any of them?
@roaminginraymond no. I don't think we have! Xx
@blakes4ontour it's National Trust at both.
A good trip Helen, hope The Nook is sorted now x
