God! Will Swan, and his damn taps. He can't go at least 2 songs with putting them in, hahahaha. At least the mystical pick troll didn't take your pick. Great cover can't wait for the tutorial. Oh I almost forgot.. Bruh! Had to say it once.
I just followed the video and i learned the whole song lol thanks Mike, awesome cover, dude! Can't believe you figured out that tapping intro, i spent a long time trying to work it out, but obviously no luck lol thanks again!
Hell yeahh, dude!! I've been waiting for this one!! Your videos introduced me to DGD and Stolas, thank you so much for that!! Sick video btw!! Greetings from Brazil!
Sick! I always heard two eighth notes at the beginning of the tapping lick instead of the half note that you play and it melted my brain trying to figure it out. You're way is much easier :)
Amazing cover done by an amazing guitarist! Love every single cover you do on DGD and tbh the first time I visited your channel I was glad that I did, you've inspired me to do better, and I've been thinking a lot positive every time I sit down and play on my guitar. Keep up the awesome work!! 👉🏻😎👉🏻
at ~3:22 if you slow it to .25 and watch right after the hard downstroke you can see the pick fly out of his hands during the upstroke. You can see the shadow of the pick below the pick up. lol
Mikerisms I heard a "fuck" from the mouth of Mike Smith. I'm discovering the real you bit by bit.. I've been really excited to watch your channel get bigger and bigger. I've been loving it since all the Mothership covers. even the small stuff like you responding often is awesome. You're in my top 5 YTers without a doubt. keep on keepin on.
Conner Miller Haha, I do try not to swear on my videos for the sake of viewership! Thanks dude, it's crazy how quickly it's picking up, I love that so many people look up to my playing, it means a lot to me 😀
havent listened to it completely, but I think some of the songs I've heard are definitely guitar cover worthy! It's not so simplistic like I was expecting!
Very important question!: I really want to start doing guitar covers on my other channel, but I have no idea how to do it legally! How do I cover songs without breaking copyright law?? Pls help.
Jake Lavery Thanks dude! I've covered the tone a couple of times, I think the lost detail is in my 'how I cover a song' video. Check it out here: Hope this helps. ruclips.net/video/aZlYP_u-cOM/видео.html
In your opinion, does Dance Gavin Dance have some of the more complicated guitar work? I've always kinda wondered because I really don't know much about actually playing music.
NewWorld It does have some really complex guitar work, yeah. In the grand scheme of things it's actually not that difficult to play any one of the guitar parts, there's just a lot of different techniques and parts all over the place which makes it much harder.
You’ve been turned into a god already lol. I’m so glad I discovered DGD and shortly thereafter you so I can figure these songs out finally. What pickups are in the beaut of a PRS?
It's You Won't Know by Brand New but the part I'm looking for is a part that is only done live, and it's very rare. I was able to track down three videos of them doing it live, and I also just posted a video of my own on my channel that shows it. The video I just posted on my channel, if you go to the 0:14 mark then you'll hear a riff that has some type of delay and flange to it. If you go to /watch?v=jnAIblC_NLg you'll hear the same thing at 39:05 and if you go to /watch?v=JvYEtbEJLCY you'll hear it also at 5:15. If you aren't able to hear the riff I'm talking about then don't worry about it, I just always loved it when they did it live and wanted to learn what they were doing. I'm sure it's some form of tapping but I can't tell.
Mylo Paradox Juat had a quick listen. It sounds like a simple lick with a slow wah sound on it. Perhaps pulling off to an open string. I don't have a guitar with me at the minute but I'll write it down for you later dude.
Mylo Paradox It sounds something like: 2nd string... 7 - 0 - 5 - 0 - 8 - 0 - 5 - 0 It's along those lines anyways. I'll grab my guitar later and have a crack.
As far as his musical style, Swan has incorporated elements of math rock, progressive rock, post-hardcore, experimental rock, Avant-garde music, funk, and jazz-fusion into all of his musical projects, most eminently in Dance Gavin Dance. (Google)
This has quickly became one of my favorite songs. Every one of their songs grow on you so fast.
Shelby Ikr, I've had so many favorite songs from them each time I discover them.
1:57 genuinely makes me tear up, such a gorgeous song.
God! Will Swan, and his damn taps. He can't go at least 2 songs with putting them in, hahahaha. At least the mystical pick troll didn't take your pick. Great cover can't wait for the tutorial. Oh I almost forgot.. Bruh! Had to say it once.
X Slusher Haha, yeah Swanny loves his taps! Thanks Bruh! 😆

Conner Miller Yeah, that was a good take as well, dammit!
Mikerisms I heard a "fuck" from the mouth of Mike Smith. I'm discovering the real you bit by bit..

joaquin ernesto dubon hernanadez Thanks dude. Tutorial is on my list, got a couple more to catch up on first though!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 bravo !
YES! TUTORIAL!!!
are you gonna do the new a lot like birds song? also brilliant cover!
Paul Smith Thanks! Maybe, I like it, i need to listen how the guitar is in more detail, see if it's interesting enough to make a good cover!
Mikerisms personally not feeling the new a lot like birds, completely changed
Josh Tsavo that's hella irrelevant. Plenty of other songs are awesome and go hard without being too traditional to the genre.
Daisy Monster opinions are never irrelevant. just sharing mine.
havent listened to it completely, but I think some of the songs I've heard are definitely guitar cover worthy! It's not so simplistic like I was expecting!

1:55 is pure nut

this is amazing! can you do we own the night?
Aaron Bopst Thanks! and yes i can!

Wow
Teach me
i'd love to see Catalyst by Stolas covered cause I am trying to learn it right now and am having a hard time
Hey man any tips for getting a DGD tone? Got a Gibson to get into playing this style again but I am struggling with the tone, love your playing dude.
Jake Lavery I remember someone else asked about DGD tone as well, not sure which Q&A but he's answered it before
Maybe 4 or 5?
Jake Lavery Thanks dude! I've covered the tone a couple of times, I think the lost detail is in my 'how I cover a song' video.
Check it out here: Hope this helps.

Cheers man helped a fair bit!
Please cover the song Acceptance Speech.

it's so coooool but can you do a tuto ??? :)
You’ve been turned into a god already lol. I’m so glad I discovered DGD and shortly thereafter you so I can figure these songs out finally. What pickups are in the beaut of a PRS?
It's actually a Cort, PRS copy, I have the same one. I don't know if he changed out the pickups tho.
Will Swan is a Guitair GOD!!!!
yeehaw
HOLY FUCK
I feel like this is all that needs to be sad about this.
Tutorial time please!
Tutorial time! :D
LegendaryRock10 On my list dude 😀
Tutorial?!?!?
What pedals are you using at 1:58? Sounds amazing man!
It's just his guitar tone. I don't hear any pedals. It sounds so damn good!
Teach me ;-;
Hey would you by chance consider doing commissions? I really need like 15 seconds of this one song tabbed out and am willing to pay.
Mylo Paradox What song is it dude?

Mylo Paradox It sounds something like:
2nd string...
7 - 0 - 5 - 0 - 8 - 0 - 5 - 0
It's along those lines anyways. I'll grab my guitar later and have a crack.
what style is this. i feel like its something jazz involved.
