Yea it is strange kind of pride! It is like validation! It is like, "hear hear my ancestors, they discovered something useful!!!" "Awww, it is so great, well done!!" Aa gaya khudki dikhane! It is a natural resource of this planet! Chinese don't care about this kinda pride! Or, any other people from anywhere!
First year growing Ashwaganda here in Northwest Montana, zone 3. Is doing great and fixing to bloom. I was searching around to see how to harvest and found you guys. Thank you😊
Wonderful video. I came here to learn how to harvest my ashwagandha and I feel more peaceful having watched these teachers and this farm and its operations. I am glad I have been patronizing and using the Banyan Botanicals products and now I know how to harvest. Thanks.
I grew ashwaganda for the first time this summer! It’s amazing to see how large it got and to meet the plant. I’m excited to harvest the roots and this video is very helpful, thank you.
It's amazing learning about all the plants nature provides. We have everything we need naturally but it seems in modern society we are forgetting about this amazing information. Thank you for sharing this ancient knowledge
Definitely one of the most mellow body and mind relaxing root I’ve encountered. Along with kava kava you can’t go wrong. Thanks for the insightful video. Was thinking of growing my own and this gave me the nudge in the right direction. Keep doing what you’re doing guys! Awesome stuff!
I grow ashwagandha in my yard. I pour milk into the raw roots and roll them into jars. Then I put them in an autoclave for 20 minutes at 120 degrees Celsius. Can be stored for up to a year.
I'm going to be growing some this season, was hoping to see more of the post harvest process lol Thanks for the information tho, its appreciated. I'm interested in using it to help me curb my anxiety.
Hi there! Thank you for your feedback! We will take this into consideration for future content. You might find this helpful :) www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/blog-the-banyan-insight/details/simple-steps-to-reduce-stress-and-achieve-balance/
I ordered 700 seeds of ashwagandha today, they'll bring it in 8 days (it said they put it in refrigerator for 4 days before sending)and then try to plant it see what happens, first for personal experience and use.
It appears that the brown coating was scrubbed off of the roots, leaving them pretty white before drying. Is it harmful to leave the root “sleeve” intact?
You could purchase a dehydrator or put it in the sun on a window seal, you just want to be careful of it molding so lots of airflow is important if you are putting it in a warm place to dry.
Farmers are the quintessential worker, citizen. Best wishes to Hannah C my daughter who is currently doing an intern there as she is enthralled with everyone and thing there.
Yes! Honey not only helps sweeten the taste but can also act as a powerful anupan, or carrier substance that can help bring an herb's benefits deeper into the tissues.
Thank you for tuning in! Here is a wonderful article about growing ashwagandha www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/blog-the-banyan-insight/details/co-creating-health-with-ashwagandha/
What part of the root is really beneficial just the tender outer part or the whole thing are the compounds that are desired in the ashwagandha root stored in the exodermis or the cortex of the root or both? I just wondered because the inner part is really hard to get ground to powder/ , thanks.
The most traditional way of taking the Ashwagandha is drying it and powdering it. We recommend working with a practitioner to determine what the best dosage would be for you and your specific constitution.
@@DutchStyleBlacclouDs Sure, but it is tough with thick fibers so you will likely need some horsepower to pulverize it (Or if you are adventurous you could freeze it with liquid nitrogen and hit it with a hammer). A good coffee grinder should do the trick, just run it for short spurts so as not to burn the motor. May be easier to soak and blend it honestly
Know where it's seeds can be bought, for growing in SW FL, USA? THANK YOU for the help! I used to run a 21-acre Hydroponic Culinary Herb Farm here, and this plant might have made it profitable. What an amazing, & new-to-me plant!
Hey Antonio! We carry the seed and have grown it for years on the other coast of Florida! Here is a link: www.etsy.com/listing/964925158/ashwagandha-seeds-naturally-grown-ready?ref=shop_home_active_7

Whaoo commend you for well-done job please how can i get the root growth as farm .
Hi there do you have any spare ashwahganda seeds much love from Texas
It appears that the brown coating was scrubbed off of the roots, leaving them pretty white before drying. Is it harmful to leave the root “sleeve” intact?
Do you know if the roots get diseased are the plants no good? I just harvested 5 plants and the roots look like they have brown lesions 😢
How can I get ashwagandha from your farm?
How can I dry the root if I have no drying room?
You could purchase a dehydrator or put it in the sun on a window seal, you just want to be careful of it molding so lots of airflow is important if you are putting it in a warm place to dry.

In my area Ashwagandha grows naturally even on roadsides. I have it near my home.
Oh wow! How lovely!
In himalayas?
This plant is mostly grown in India in plateau areas like state UP. 👍
What r its benefits
Can you add honey to counter the bitterness?
Yes! Honey not only helps sweeten the taste but can also act as a powerful anupan, or carrier substance that can help bring an herb's benefits deeper into the tissues.
Goodmoring, I bought the ashwagandha seeds do you know when I can sow them? I live in Malta, Thankyou 💐

In india we use everything from ashwagandha. Not only roots.
What part of the root is really beneficial just the tender outer part or the whole thing are the compounds that are desired in the ashwagandha root stored in the exodermis or the cortex of the root or both? I just wondered because the inner part is really hard to get ground to powder/ , thanks.
Thanks for tuning in! We utilize the whole root for our Ashwagandha powder.
Did u bought seed from India??
Our Ashwaghanda is currently organically and sustainably sourced from India :)
Is it possible to send seeds to the United Kingdom thnx.
Can I eat a teaspoon of the roots or does it have to be powdered form
The most traditional way of taking the Ashwagandha is drying it and powdering it. We recommend working with a practitioner to determine what the best dosage would be for you and your specific constitution.
@@banyanbotanicals I bought some dried at a farmers market. Can I still powder it

Haha, both are wonderful men in their fields! 🤣❤️🙏🏻
Pls where can I get the seed?
Thanks for your feedback! This is a great introductory video so folks can get accustomed to the practice.
Oregon Ashwagandha vs RAW from India ?
This is something we are testing right now! We're excited to see what the differences will be between the two sources.
Weight management: Ashwgandha roots helps in gain weight while leaves helps in reducing weight.
Thanks for that interesting fact!
Ashwaganda roots, the thin root is useless it has no powder .
We appreciate your feedback and insights 🌱
See you farming ayurvedic herbs like Ashwagandha and our Indian people think this rubbish things so bad of that. They have values of there treasure
