What a fantastic look behind the scenes at a station under construction. The obvious - and clearly justified - pride of Rob in his station shines through as he describes every detail from the aesthetics of the artwork and architecture through to the practicality of fire and other safety design and the skills of the people who’ve put it all together. Really great show - thanks!

Another marvellous episode everyone! Really looking forward to the rest of the Elizabeth Line stations being featured. The central section ones get all the attention, but I’m sure there are great stories to be told for the likes of Abbey Wood, Woolwich etc. 👏🙌. Can’t wait for series 6!

Hi guys, so thank you for such a huge series. Ive watched all of them, and Siddy's Secrets of the Underground. I love the underground too explored most of it when i was little and clubbing...i aseptically liked the sound of the electric going on at Mornington Crescent. I've, also yet to sample the elizabeth line. I have always been very interested with the old lines around the uk, specailly London. I noticed on one of the maps, that the district line had a westwards connection from the hammrsmith and city branch on to the westward section of the district line towards Ravenscourt Park.

Another brilliant video thank you. Went on a little Elizabeth line trip from canary wharf to farringdon last Tuesday. The WiFi on the train didn't work, the train got held for 5mins, the doors at farringdon didn't line up with the platform and the incline lifts were all out of service so I had to bring up the pushchair on the escalators. More what I expected.
Nice tour of Bond Street but Siddy squeaks louder than the escalators throughout. 😂

Hi team have just finished watching season 1 thru 5. Have found quite fascinating and entertaining 😂 hope to get to London one day to ride the tube and to visit the museum. Looking forward to starting season 6.

I still think that the railway companies should have recorded the sound of an old Solari board clacking over before they decommissioned them all, and the play that sound every time the big electronic displays update. It would bring back some great nostalgia, as well as providing waiting passengers with a useful cue to look at the boards because they had changed.
Genius idea. Solari board…. Learn something new every day!

Watching this on the Smart Telly, the access passage (AP1) has an amazing sense of perspective.
Has anyone else noticed the concept and design of the Totems is identical to the Comm-Posts in Moonbase Alpha from the Gerry Anderson series Space:1999!

Yet another incredible episode, the Hurley line is magnificent to look at - as was Liz Hurley.
I loved the Continuity announcements at the beginning and ending, they made me visualise those old BBC2 logos.

Thank you for a wonderful series 5. I'm coming to London on September 22nd, and I've booked my ticket for the Acton open day. Are any of the team at the Museum for that day? I would love to chat about my time in London 1951 to 1988 and about the opening day of the Victoria line on 1st September 1968. Next day will be exploring the Elizabeth line. I know what to look out for!
Loved seeing my old daily station, really enjoyed the whole series my first in "real time" and having to wait for each episodes, would the team consider a special on the deco style stations still in existence like south Ealing etc? Thanks again roll over on s6

I noticed on the new escalator that was moving, that there were white spots on the handrail. I have seen these on escalators before, but not as prominent as these. Do they serve a purpose?
I guess….they show at a glance that the black grabrails are moving.
@@alexgrundon2346 Indeed, just like the etching on glass doors help to highlight the fact that there is a sheet of glass, so that people don't end up walking into the clear glass. The dots help to take away the surprise that the handrail is moving.
