  • The lead single released from the Ruthless People soundtrack album, this is the 7" version taken from the US 7" single. Written by Daryl Hall, Mick Jagger and Dave Stewart, this rousing single peaked at only No. 51 on the US Billboard Hot 100, but remained on the chart for 8 weeks. So why the fallout? Most likely explained by Mick competing with himself. The Stones' Dirty Work was released earlier that year, with the first two singles (especially the first) doing quite well on the charts. With no tour in sight, it seemed the general public may have soured on the Stones after the chart runs ended. Resulting in the poor charting of this single, but to the public's detriment! In my opinion Ruthless People is far more interesting and catchy than Jagger's first solo album (with the exception of Just Another Night). This was a fertile period in Mick's solo career. Enjoy!
