not really. for one thing die krupps, gary numan, and nitzer ebb would have still existed, for another nomatter how much you want to believe in causality the science is showing us the outcomes are always the same, only the route to the destination changes. the outcome will always be the same. theres also nothing interesting about this non fact.
It’s fun to look at the past and assume that the future would never happen without X Y or Z, but I forget who said it, but many things happen with or without coincidences - Trent seemed like a very dark artist who wAs going to soak up something eventually, and he was just a force inevitably destined to blow up with dark electronic energy
Not true at all. A lot of artists's inspiration dries up when they get to middle age - I'd argue the vast majority. Lots of musicians become technically better skilled with age, but most of them loose the inspiration. It's why the Stones have never stopped putting on great shows despite not having released a great album in 4 decades.
Regular people could identify with him and that is part of his charm. He was an anti-rockstar like kurt cobain. That's what punk rock was about originally. Authentic guy.
hmmm not really a coincidence by definition. They are both EPIC bands of the same era, playing the same gigs with the same people. If you want put on a festival that brings all those fantastic nineties bands out, as AJ Maddah has shown he does, then you book both these acts and you're onto a fucking winner! I myself, have just seen fear Factory Factory twice and Ministry four times in one week this Soundwave, and it was unfuckingforgettable, and I will always love AJ for reinventing the Australian Festival scene. Just got back, actually, an hour ago from the Sydney Soundwave, still haven't slept, and still playing it loud. Metal for life!
I always much preferred Al to Trent. Trent's attitude was always a self-pityingly sad "The world sucks. Fuck me." whereas Al's attitude was "The world sucks. Fuck THEM."
I still think his music is pretty good. I mean he doesn't make albums anymore so there's that. But understand what you mean. It's just people tend to make good things when they're feeling the worst. It also helps to be on drugs which make you feel worse.
Trent has always been very eclectic in both his music and in his taste in others. His music hasn't changed, he just did something different from his usual repertoire. Compare "The Great Below" from The Fragile and "Hurt" from Downward Spiral, classic Nine Inch Nails, to TGWTDT OST, and compare "Big Man With a Big Gun" from Downward Spiral" and "Burn" from Natural Born Killers OST to the Immigrant Song cover from TGWTDT. Not much has changed, really.
that's a pretty good question to ask if you don't know anything at all about industrial metal, and didn't pay attention at all when his name was captioned, he said what band he was from....and Al introduced him onstage to play supernaut with Ministry. Now...if YOU were in the video...that would be a wtf moment. Dino should probably be in the video, and yes he takes up a good portion of the frame. I assume he's aware, and everyone watching is aware that he is overweight. (O)___(o)
+SinnedNogara well ministry at the time were pretty big thanks to psalms 69 and the single of jesus built my hot rod was in heavy rotation on mtv and the radio. plus having their N.W.O. video cameo on the beavis and butthead show helped their exposure and they played in the 2nd lollapalooza. so it doesn't surprise me that they headlined a tour with slayer being a supporting band on the bill.
Minsitry is to Industrial, what Slayer is to Thrash. They are just as revered as Slayer in the music industry. Psalm 69 sold more copies than Reign In Blood and South Of Heaven combined.
Yeah, they were really big in the early 90's. Plus, that was arguably Slayer's lowest point in their career. They did not release an album for a few years, and when they finally did, 'Divine Intervention' wasn't very well-received. I think it's a great record, but a lot of critics felt it was redundant and uninspired. Which is funny, because their more recent output makes DI sound like Reign in Blood Pt 2.
im sorry this sounds nothing like ministry I still doubt al invited trent along tbh In my opinion trent did the inviting like he did with every major metal act trent is part of the scene that copied the al Jourgensen image
Ever since Chris Connelly stopped collaborating with them Ministry became boring (Psalm69 included). His lyrics and voice made the difference, the pinnacle in my opinion being BS&Q. Ironically his own solo efforts are boring too.
YOU ARE RIGHT, I LOVE NIN BUT LAST NIGHT I WATCHED TGWTDT AND I DID NOT LIKE THE SOUNDTRACK....I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY TRENT´S MUSIC HAD CHANGED SO MUCH...SAD.
*I love that they both think that Donald Trump is an idiot.* _Two amazing artists that never sold out to conservative bullshit._ _Basically all of the good artists are Liberals_
BizWiz I did not hear any of that on this video which means that you brought some political b******* to a video it does not belong on please go back to Fox News or CNN or even Twitter for that matter and keep your f****** politics on political videos fuck mouth. Thanks
I'm waiting for that quote if there is one. I wouldn't be surprised. I always sensed a teeny bit of resentment from Al when it came to Trent. Not sure why, but it's likely because of the similarity in music styles and how Trent went on to bank the big bucks, as Al became less and less relevant. It's cool that they get on for the most part though. They're both super talented in their own way.
Just because he won an academy award for that pile of crap he produced, doesn't mean it's good... He peaked at downward spiral... ever since then it's been a downward spiral of crap... flush... Just like any art it's subjective and this is only an opinion of one man...
I just saw Ministry's 2015 New Year's Eve in Chicago, and they had two large Nazi eagle banners hung at either end of the stage, with the Ministry insignia in place of the swastika. What kind of asshole must Al Jourgensen be to do something like that? What kind of statement is he trying to make? And why would the management at the Concord Music Hall be stupid engough to let him get away with it? Derek Davis Chicago
+Derek Davis "Let him?" free speech says he can and doing things like that pisses people off and you have to realize when someone does something just to get a rise out of you
+Derek Davis LOL. Seems Al's mission was accomplished! If you found it offensive and it made you angry then good! Thats what he set otu to do. Ministry has always been a bit punkish IMO.
"Nazi eagle banners" I wasn't aware eagles could prescribe to ultra nationalistic ideologies No for real though what made it a "Nazi" thing. The *tilted swastika is the only thing I would say is implicitly offensive. The stuff like Iron crosses and other symbols the Nazi party used I think had been around for many years I believe, and generally represented stuff like "Strength" as far as I'm aware. Honestly I have to say I'm surprised someone who would go see ministry is offended by their stage antics, i feel like thats par for the genre.
.your totally right..there has to be sth seriously wrong in the musicians head for the music to be good...theres always balance..now with him its the other way round...he doesnt have to rely on music anymore to feel better about himself since he already feels good ;)
the time trents talking about..hell he was at his best!...but he felt the crappiest he could feel..now artistically hes the crappiest he and his music has ever been but somehow he finally feels comfortable with himself...fucking weird..
OMG Trent is smiling and looks happy for a change :)
..like a fat jock.
Yeah, he can finally stop pretending to live in angst 24/7. Probably a load off.
Trent's such a sincere dork 😁
Remember: If there was no MINISTRY, there would be no NINE INCH NAILS.
Just an interesting fact.
not really. for one thing die krupps, gary numan, and nitzer ebb would have still existed, for another nomatter how much you want to believe in causality the science is showing us the outcomes are always the same, only the route to the destination changes. the outcome will always be the same. theres also nothing interesting about this non fact.

Exactly, just like how there would be no Nirvana if it wasn't for Pixies
Replace Ministry in that sentence with Skinny Puppy and you are correct.
the truth lies somewhere in between. nin would surely never have been quite the same
I remember living in Chicago in 1991 and all of this happening. It was so freaking wild.
ya he won an Oscar and has more talent and drive in his finger nail than all of us have in our whole world.
I saw Ministry with Helmet San Diego 98 ( I think) what a show...best concert ever.
92
Be so wonderful for Uncle Al & Reznor to have a reunion and Paul Barker be involved as well.
So ministry was headlining the festival and Slayer was on the same bill.. That shows you how fucking good ministry was.
Talent never goes away, you just choose not to use it.
I can connect with Trent on so many levels
Regular people could identify with him and that is part of his charm.
He was an anti-rockstar like kurt cobain. That's what punk rock was about originally. Authentic guy.
Not on the Roid OD level , I do not though .
Interesting to see Dino has known Al all these years and I just saw both Fear Factory and Ministry live at Soundwave in Australia, what a coincidence
hmmm not really a coincidence by definition. They are both EPIC bands of the same era, playing the same gigs with the same people. @@qtimbroad2350 Fear Factory were a Godflesh cover band
awesome two creative music dudes
1:54 Dino talking about FF like it's part of his past.
this was probably recorded when he was an ex member?
Fuck.. so if i see Al standing beside me.. all i have to do is say something in spanish and i'll start drinking with him? Sweet!
I miss industrial metal. Pretty hate machine & a mind is a terrible thing to taste are iconic.
Too bad they didn't use this performance on the Sphinctour DVD.
DINOOOOO! I had no idea that he and Al were tight like that
it's pretty cool when stars become starstruck themselves
Trent, Al and Maynard were the typical goth kids of the 80s
Dino is a big guy and can jump pretty high
Disappointed that Douglas Freel did not include this Trent Reznor segment in his final cut of FIX The Ministry Movie
"Noooooo! Not two!!! Just one FIST!" she cried as I married her
Qtim Broad It's just one fix
@@scottwood5640 It’s a play on words.
I always much preferred Al to Trent. Trent's attitude was always a self-pityingly sad "The world sucks. Fuck me." whereas Al's attitude was "The world sucks. Fuck THEM."
I remember moshing the fuck out to Supernaut followed closely by Revcos BEERS STEERS AND QUEERS YEEEHahahahahah!!!! back in the 90s. Good Times :)
Trent's guycrush on Al is so cute. I bet his then-boyfriend/roommate was so jealous.
Trent on stage with al and the revolting cocks the ritz nyc 1990 .....i new then i was seeing something really special
humble, i like that!
did Dino eat the rest of Ministry? is that why they "disbanded"?
+terrybrass I think that's because al was probably in rehab
richard kent Drug or physical?
terrybrass probably both knowing him hahaha
Legends !!
I still think his music is pretty good. I mean he doesn't make albums anymore so there's that. But understand what you mean. It's just people tend to make good things when they're feeling the worst. It also helps to be on drugs which make you feel worse.
Everything u need 2 know about the song Supernaut!
I was there @ Waldrock
I dug the version by 1k homo dj's. I had to buy the NIB cd twice I played it sooo much!
Latin gang yerrrrrrrr uncle Al
It's a cover of "Do The Donkey Kong" by Buckner and Garcia.
Leave Dino aloooone! Leave him alone!
Because he's evolved and expounded upon his musical talent. You on the other hand apparently are in your narrowminded corner of the world.
Trent has always been very eclectic in both his music and in his taste in others. His music hasn't changed, he just did something different from his usual repertoire. DINO CAZARES!!!!!!
Were these interviews from "Fix"? I just watched the DVD and didn't see this anywhere.
First few seconds are them practicing "Supernaut" from 1000 Homo DJs :)
I doubt it ever will as long as Al has anything to do with it

Ministry coming out with pro Antifa songs these days.... pretty cool on Opposite Day
Didn't Al Diss ya in his book Trent???? Why... Yes he did. In fact...you Sponged off of Al's music to create NiN. Hack.
