Also, none of us are PROFESSIONAL musicians. So if you come here for a strict breakdown/analysis of the music, you won’t be getting that. This is strictly my conservatory musician friends taking time in their schedule to watch kpop for fun, and throw in any musical comments that come into their mind! Also please do not complain about any "boring" reactions...some of the musicians have blank faces since they are concentrating so deeply on analyzing the music. On top of that, if you think that they aren't commenting enough on the music, it's because /nothing/ is happening IN the music to comment on. It may be a great song/bop/huge hit that they're listening to, but that does not mean there are actual complicated musical things happening that they'd be able to talk about.

Their concept should have been explained better. Yookyung (drummer girl) is only a half angel (hence why her wings were smaller and she appeared later in the video) she is only there when they do their band concept to play the drums, she did not want to be an idol. There are 7 members in the idol group and of those 7, 4 of them join Yookyung to become the band version or AOA Black. Mina (bass) Choa (lead guitar) Yuna (piano/ keyboard) Jimin (2nd guitar) FNC didn’t really treat Yookyung or AOA Black properly. After a while they abandoned their band concept since they were more popular as idols and eventually Yookyung left the company. If they had properly promoted their band concept like they do for CNBLUE ( or FTIsland, but not really they treat them like shit even though they BUILT their goddamn company and made them who they are) it’s obvious that the band concept wasn’t going to be as popular as the idol concept but it would have worked if they marketed towards who bands are made to market toward instead of trying to make them just an idol group playing instruments.
Yes I was thinking exactly this! When they debuted with this song I was so excited to finally see a girl group who played instruments but alas the concept was quietly abandoned. :(
That whole mess with the band concept is a good part of the reason I can't get excited about AOA.
genjii931 They are a really great group now, it's not their fault that they had a bad start. Just another example of South Korean entertainment companies treating their idols like shit, nothing new for the kpop industry.
Agree with everything but.. FTisland and Cnblue *built* the company. :/
omgosh 9 CNBlue would not have been able to even survive let alone have the success they had if not for FTIsland. CNBlue may be more popular, but FTIsland made FNC what it is and got them recognition, only after that did they debut CNBlue. FTIsland BUILT FNC and FNC just abandoned them. I love them both, but CNBlue would not exist without FTIsland

If they don't think the song is musically complex enough it doesn't get reacted to. A lot of kpop songs won't be reacted to for that reason. Brave Brothers are not known for musically complex songs.

youkyung deserved better 😭😭😭 aoa black could've done so well if only fnc remembered to give them a comeback but they were so focused on aoa since they did so well after like a cat. and I AM glad that aoa is doing so well as fnc's first idol group but the whole band subunit thing is such a rare occurrence in kpop. they could've done so well if they just continued a bit
I wish they had focused on AOA black and had kept the band concept. ;w; I really hate the company for making them change. Plus, Youkyung is my favourite.
i miss the band concept too! but tbh they pretty much HAD to change. Nobody was really buying their music and they weren't going anywhere with their band concept. financially it makes sense as to why their company changed them to staying as an idol group instead a rock band .

I've been waiting for this since forever!!!
I remembered when this song first came out in 2012 (the year with a sudden influx of new kpop groups debuting) and out of the many I personally loved AOA's Elvis. It kind of stood out from the rest but still kept to the catchy and driving groove that made KPOP insanely popular at the time. But I also read that many people hated the song, the trumpet sound, Jimin's rap and jirit jirit Elvis was deemed annoying. The 'transformer' concept was too ahead of its time and unfortunately AOA had to completely take down what they were build up for. I still enjoy their songs but Elvis in particular will always remain an anthem for the the old kpop soul.*BING BING BING BABY BANG BANG BANG*
