  • In this video, we discuss how to apply a Bernoulli transformation to solve a nonlinear first-order differential equation. To begin we rearrange the problem so it is in standard form meaning y' is all by itself. Then we move the non-linear term to the right-hand side of the equation. We choose a substitution u = y^(1-n). This transformation results in a linear differential equation that we can tackle with the integration factors method that I will be teaching in depth in another video. Finally, we plug in for u with the original transformation.
