Being in Canada, campro is pretty much all I'm loading now, 9mm, 223, 308. And to be honest, I like them better than Hornady because they seem to have harder and thicker jacket. Not like it matters a lot, but not needing to "baby-seat" the bullet, I can load 900 rds a hour on my Dillon if I want to have a workout lol.
I've been getting some pretty poor accuracy with my CamPro .223 reloads so far. The Hornady was bettter, but this could very well be because the Hornady seats deeper due to the cannelure (and backed up by load data). I found the CamPro was trending more accurate for me with the lower end of the powder loads in each batch and accuracy went right to crap as I approached the max load. I am currently going to go down even lower to see if I can get these 55 grain pills shooting @moa. My rifle is the Bison 5.56 bolt action and has a fast 1:7 twist. The best shooting projectile I've found so far for it is the Hornady 75 grain BTHP. I'm not entirely sure why the CamPro 55 grain hated the max pressure loads yet the Hornady 55 grain shot it's best with max pressure. Could be seating depth, could be just something different with the jacket or lead hardness. Not a bad thing really if I eventually find these plinking bullets like lower powder loads, as that will just be cheaper for me since I am shooting a bolt action and don't need to be worried about a gas system cycling.
Gas system cycling takes approximately 5% from consistency. That is not big difference to wary about. I have Norinco. Just started to make experience. Winchester powder for .233 long rifle-22.5 gn. min. Consistency is horrible. But I weighed CamPro bullets, and I aspect to get better. Your experience is intriguing and counted.👍
Awesome video! Thanks for sparing us the weighing process. In this situation it wouldn't work, but when I'm checking something like my powder drop to see what the average amount is, I drop 10 charges into my pan and weigh it. Move the decimal place one left and you've got your average right there on the screen! :-)
My first experience with Campro bullets was with the .311 cal (.303 British) 180 gr. FBSP bullets for my P14. Accuracy was great, the price was good and I now see no reason to use anything else.
@@TheRedneckPreppy A long time ago I learned to buy components in bulk. If something I used went on sale, I loaded up. When anything got low in my inventory, I restocked. My last purchase of the Campro .311 cal 180 gr. FBSP was 500 bullets along with 200 unprimed brass. I'm good. My go to powder for the .303 is IMR 4064. No shortage of that stuff in my supply cupboard either.
@@stephenland9361 A good problem to have. Supply has been so inconsistent at my local gun store it's been difficult to build up a good inventory. I was going to reload some .223 the other day and discovered I was low on the Campro bullets -- and my LGS had none. Ouch. And BL-C(2) for some of my favourite loads for various calibres -- fegadaboudit!
Thanks for the information as this answered a couple of questions for me. I’m new to the reloading side of it and am wondering where I can find load data for the cam pro bullets, getting 9mm was no problem but for the 308 nothing. Suggestions please
@@stevek4035 Okay, I just went to their web site -- they pulled all of their load data while they were redesigning their web site. That's dumb. Thank you for the information👍 Now.. many years after you made this video,i was searching the Campro bullet on youtube and found your video. I ordered 1000 of them this day. Now,in Europe bullets has gotten prohibitively expensive after 2022.. Go figure 🙄 But i got a good price on those bullets😃
Good question -- out of the scope of the video but I should have extended out to actually shooting. Well, if it means anything, I use the Campro...well, used...AR-15s have since been declared prohibited in Canada so I haven't shot too much .223 lately.
I weighed CamPro bullets, 500 of them today. So I received 54.9 55.0 55.1 55.2 55.3 So that seems not bad if you use set by set. It might be good consistency.
I suppose all things considered, a .40 grain spread across 500 55 grain bullets isn't horrible. Like you said, set by set and you can live with it. Now I wish I could just get them where I am, ha ha.
Obviously gun dependent but campro are my plinking round of choice. Where my hand load nosler varmageddon get about .6 MOA the campro are probably 1 MOA but it's been a while and I don't have any numerical data to provide on the campro side.
Thank you for making this video. It was very useful for me
Glad to help!

That is a work out, ha ha. Yeah, I've gone to Campro myself where possible. I haven't seen any hit to my accuracy -- jacket is good too.
Whats the average acuracy for campro?
Nicely done.

I find it to be pretty decent -- with them I seem to be able to replicate the results I get from shooting quality ammunition like the PMC green tips.
