I want to thank you for this video. I just went through massive cooling issues on my N51. First the expansion hose cracked and while the mechanic was removing it, the nipple on the upper hose broke. Replaced both. After about five days of driving, the radiator cracked near the upper hose. Replaced the N51 radiator. Car is 15 and 1/2 years old with only 94k miles. Dealer would not do any goodwill on the sulev warranty which expired seven months ago Thanks for your great videos

I think the reason the rad likes to crack on the driver's side is because that's the inlet reservoir...if you have a leak somewhere else it will depressurize the system and this is the side where the hottest of the steam builds up and cracks the hard line where the hose comes in.
Could easily solve this weak point by spending an extra 100-200 bucks on an all metal rad rather than OEM (assuming you're not driving an N51 car).

It was a drainage issue with the sunroof. I pulled the carpets & took out a lot of water. It’s sill drying out. Any input would be much appreciated

I currently can't find any leak with pressure test. But had twice coolant completely leak out under the car, but I still could not find where is leaking. @@divakim206 For me, it all started with one day, I noticed the car was running very hot. So I added a little bit coolant in the tank. The next day, there was some coolant drop on the ground. So I worried, and took the car to a shop. Then they said my radiator was leaking, and changed the radiator. Then after I drove the car, suddenly the coolant will all pour out to the street. I changed almost everything, but this problem still exist. In the end, I found out when the shop install the new radiator, they put the short plug in. But my car is auto-transmission, they should use the long plug!!! So I went to dealer, buy a $15 long plug, put it on, the coolant will never leak again.

If you don't have the coolant/water ratio correct it may be expanding too much and flowing out the expansion tank. This video made me realize that this is possible since the water boils at 100 but the coolant raises the boiling point.

Well usually it’s the valve cover gasket leaking oil on exhaust manifold but if you think it’s coolant lift the car and check from underneath there is a coolant pipe going into the block other end connects to water pump, if seal on the side of the block is failing then it might be smoking there since block get pretty hot
