@@canalcarbrasil57Are you asking about the crankcase ventilation system (PCV) ? On N52, it is hidden between intake manifold and engine block, right around cylinder 5.
So that's where the coolant is going! Oil filter housing gasket. I'll address this next. I couldn't figure it out. Thank you very much BMW Doctor!! I am changing my valve cover gasket, eccentric shaft sensor/seal and VVT gasket thanks to you.. Update when complete.

Doc, so I started my 09 128i about 25°f no codes on the dash upon start up. Went in the house, came back out and had "service engine soon" light. Pulled codes, bank 1& bank 2 lean. I'm thinking immediately bad maf , no way 2 o2s failed at the same time. So there are no drivability issues, basically no symptoms present. I need to get ista from u asap. I heard that a blocked PCV can cause this also. Any thoughts? Have a great weekend!
@@BMWDoctor I'm getting intermittent misfire and ignition codes. I've replaced the plugs and ignition coils. In some of the spark plug wells I do see a little oil and I know that the valtronic motor gasket is leaking as I can see oil pooling beneath it. I don't have Ista, but do have bimmer link/bimmer code. I'm at a loss and don't know what to do next.
I’ve experienced and fixed just about everything you’ve listed on your video. Coolant hose that’s next to the oil filter went bad last week. The fuel pressure regulator gasket went bad. (Long cranks) replaced regulator and fuel pump. Now transmission need a new oil (6L45) will rebuild it next week with new gasket+filter...thanks to ISTA-D is a MUST for anyone who owns and wants to work on their own car. Oil separator is a common issue in the n52. Check your oil level regularly to find if you’re burning it. Radiator failed and all the ignition coils from Bosch. Currently have Delphi installed.
Hi I have oil in my coolant on my 2005 130i. Could this be the oil cooler gasket. And oil filter gasket need replacing. Or is it something worse. Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm looking at a huge garage bill. Thanks

Just got a warning of low coolant tonight. I looked everywhere and couldnt see any leaks. Glad I watched this video. I'm betting its coming from the Oil Filter Gasket.

@@BMWDoctor The catalytic conversion codes due to failing ccv was in the money. I recently had parts of my ccv replaced namely the return pipe after my mechanic told me that's where my oil leak symptoms was coming from. I was going to do the job myself since I've done the valve cover gasket, spark plugs ignition coils, vanos solenoid etc, I'd figured the ccv should be easy for me to replace, especially after watching your video. Unfortunately I had my mechanic do it and they told me one of the tubes to the ccv besides the return pipe I got a replacement for was duct tape together. So apparently they bought some tubing and made their own replacement for it. I got catalytic conversion and catalytic conversion 2 code in my scanner after the job was done, I've never seen these codes before as long as I had my car. I've cleared the codes and they havent come back since I had the job done a month now but I think I'll just buy the whole ccv replacement kit from fcp and do the job over myself after the winter. Wish me luck lol

Very nice video. I have two X3's with the N52 engine and have done quite a bit of work over the years. I have an unusual problem that just came up on my 2007. Up until yesterday ran great. Driving on the highway, suddenly the engine started to momentarily cut out the start up. Managed to get off the highway and the idle was smooth and normal. Even at moderate speeds the engine would repeatedly cut out then cut back in. Died once. Almost like it was starving for fuel. Weird hat the idle is rock steady. I actually had an appointment today at a BMW dealer to change the PVC heater under recall. I believe that it is shorted and has blown the #4 fuse under the hood. The only codes that I have are for the O2 sensor heaters that run off this fuse. Thanks.

My e90 320d drives flawlessly most of the time, but on some ocassions when I'm pressing the gas to the middle point, it starts to make a slight BRR BRR - BRR BRR BRR- BRR BRR etc sound, until I take the foot of the gas and press again. Sometimes it just goes away, sometimes it stays a while. It's not making the car undriveable, but when that happens it jerks slighty, like it connects and disconnects the gass a little, not fully. Do you have any idea what this might be? My local BMW mechanic was unable to locate the issue, he was also unable to reproduce it, since it happens randomly.
Hey Doc Thank you for al information that your willing to help repair our Beemers. I have a 2004 330ci-BMW automatic. When you say don't by after market. I believe you. The problem is that once the throttle body boot went out due to cracks everything else decided to wanted to be replaced. I just got replacing fuel injectors and plugs and coils, and the disa maf again (both aftermarket). Now the car runs really rough and dies after about 12 seconds. Also replaced brake light switch and fuse. Brake lights and trunk light come on and stay after I turn the key.. I truly need some help.
Awesome video. I had a question I am having a coolant leak I changed the lower radiator hose and top one . But I'm still leaking and while I was under the manifold on its side and noticed the hose that goes up the pcv valve hose is broken on it's connection near the round plastic at the bottom side . And there is coolant near there . Is this my problem?? Or just another one ? . It's a 2003 Bmw 530i
Just found your channel and want to thank you for all your valuable info on the e60. I've had a 530xi now for several years and never really felt the car had any initial pep. Just really sluggishness for awhile now. Replaced coils and plugs. Any ideas? Thanks

Dean, bought my e60 used and it never had the coils ground strap never have had any issues that are major . I have a ground strap to install but wanted to ask my bolt to the body is painted and yours is bare , is there any chance us spec car would have used a different ground for the coils ?
I had rough idle and cylinder shut downs mid-drive on high rpms on my bmw e90 330xi n52b30A last year. The dealer said that my cylinder head needs replacement due to heavy wear on the camshafts. So i went and bough a new engine instead. Now i have the same issues with the new engine. I replaced the plugs, coils and ccv too. Where should I look next? And did they took advantage on me just to squeeze some cash out?
Question Dr. Dean. I’ve worked my 2008 328xi over. It was running great and now when it gets to temp it feels like my torque converter is not locking and making the car jerk and judder. I have the GM GA6L45R trans which I’m sure is the worst gearbox. I’m wondering if it’s worth changing the fluid and putting a converter additive in or just replacing the torque converter. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!!
Well said BMW doctor, definitely the wrong car to own if you can’t afford to maintain it. I like my BMW’s for more than one reason but mostly because I have a really bad back and the BMW seats are as comfortable as I can hope to get in a car seat.

I have a coolant leak between the bottom of the expansion tank and lower hose assembly at the connector. I've opened it up and there's an O Ring but it's not a common size and BMW don't sell it (just the entire hose assembly). Any ideas or suggestions to avoid having to change the whole lower hose assembly? Thanks in advance.
Hi I changed vat vanos coils and plugs but still fault on compression 1 cylinder us there anything else I can check ...also put forte conditioner in oil
Anyone know who the OEM manufacturer is for the VANOS control solonoids? Even the ones from a BMW dealer are not very durable and very overpriced. There are other options such as Pierburg and Febi which make OEM equipment for BMW, but without the crazy dealership markup, anyone have any experience with these?
Hi deal please get back to me mate? What coolant temperature are these engines suppose to run on? I’m seeing mine go up as high as 110-115 and I’m getting paranoid.
Maybe i had a misunderstanding, but i thought the valvetronic replaces the throttle body and is basically variable valve lift, that they first intoduced with the n42. And the trottle body is just there as a failsave..
No mate you are completely wrong right there ! The throttle body serves the purpose of the car as it’s always done the valvetronic is controlled via the valvetronic motor and the solenoids thereself this is not N42 engine that is crappy 4 cylinder engine
@@BMWDoctor i just read the Wikipedia article to the n52 and they say the same. vanos is for the timing and uses the solennoids, and the valvetronic is variable valve lift wich controlls the amount of air going in and the throttle body schould be in a full open position wenn the engine is running, same as in the n42. yes the n42 is a 4 zylinder but it is the first engine with valvetronic l and the n52 has Valvetronic ll. But it has the same funktion :)
Valvetronic, in addition to throttle body, allows more precise air control. At the same time, engine still can work without valvetronic - in case of valvetronic actuator fails, you can unplug the connector and engine will work only with throttle body.
@@alexm2016 yep i tried it on my dads winter car (e46 316i with n42b18) and my Observation was when you unplug the sensor it works fine, but when you unplug sensor and motor it is way down on power, wich i guess comes from the valves not opening wide enough:)
You just answered your own question exactly that your down on power as the motor is used for the valveteonic system can I ask why you come to this channel with a 4 cylinder engine ??? I’m getting a lot of people with this engine YET it’s a car that won’t ever be on here it’s like your hoping some day it will but it won’t I assure you on that This is a channel like the rest of USA channels straight N52 and 3.0 diesel only

I have a bmw e90 and l recently did my service changed oil, oil filter, plugs and air filter but l am still having a problem its consuming a lot of fuels 14L/100 and there's white smoke at the exhaust pipe and l smell unburnt feul also with a rough idle any idea what the problem is.

Hi doctor,im writing from Turkey.I have 2006 5.30i N52B30.I bought it second hand and rebuilt the ignition system. When we look into catalytic we see that its damaged and molten. It probably melted before me.So i emptied it.Now it gaves 2C7F: Lambda tuning 2 . 2C27: catalytic converter lambda probe system check . 2C3B: catalytic converter lambda probe didnt installed . 2C2C:lambda probe "before" catalytic converter 2 system check Codes. Can you gave me advice what should i do ?

What up Doc ? I have a issue with e91. Right side of the car is sitting inch lower at front and nearly 2 inches lower at rear ? I mean the distance from tarmac to body.I had replaced all bottom and top rubber spring and schock mounts . All schock went with bilstein B4S and springs eibach pro. Before on the oem setup m sport springs and oem shocks it was the same . Have you any suggestion on what to check next as it is driving me mad. Please help.

help... My car starts but missfire 4,5,6 all new coils, plugs, and injectors. trying to find the actual problem but the only errors i get are miss fire. can you get miss fire codes and it will be the vanos? or other parts?

Exactly mate I do indeed and I tend to do more before this car goes for everyone else in thinking to do another manifold removal as that one I did do was when I started and kind of nervous so now I ain’t I can actually explain everything in detail and show it properly I want to end my n52 run being number one for this engine
Roll on you getting an N53 buddy, am still learning about the N53 and it's issues, usually have the e39 and E46. I like the N53 engine I have at the mo, but these direct injection engines can be a pain, cost me enough lately and that's me doing it myself lol

Hello, I had a problem with fault drive train on my f11 523i engine N53. Last month was changed bad Nox senzor, all injectors, ignition coils and plugs. The fault during cold starts is solved, this was the first fault that I have but recently it was happened to me if I drive about 160km/h or more constantly on highway that the drive train show me also. Diagnostics shows misfire on valve 1,2,3 but alternately. Do You have some tips? Thank You

Just wanted to pick your brains I am about to buy an 330i 2006 E90 with only 39k miles so they car has done very little mileage, is that a good thing or a bad thing in your opinion? Any advice to look out for as the car hasn't been driven that much? The car has only one owner from new and he has a mountain of reciepts and bits he has done on the car. I have 2010 bmw x3 with 180000 mile i m having random misfire issue P0300,P0304 and P0306, i have changed new coil new sparkplug new air filter cleaned MAF sensor changed Valve cover gasket ,cleaned all fuel injector clean vanos solenoid and filter but this misfire keep coming back and at low rpm car gets hiccups this is on going from last 2 month but car runs very smooth on highway ,also when im at full stop i see very lite white smoke from the exhaust i'm in NJ any idea what could be wrong please give me some tips
Hello, I have a n52b25a engine, I am getting p2096 and 2196 errors in my 2009 525i, what should I do, sometimes the engine is running fluctuating, the indicator is moving up and down.
whats wrong? i start the car and its normal, sharp response on throttle, after a while or if i rev it high the rpm falls to 500rpm and then humms couple times between 500-1000rpm.. then if i try throttle again i hear a swoosh somewhere if i blip the throttle and the throttle responsiveness is gone shit? its like i had a intake leak.. after starting car again everything good again.. also knocking lifters and rattling wngine sounds may appear sometimes but it goes away if i rev the engine a little?
I just replaced the fuel hose to the fuel rail. Mine must be different. Because, my fuel hose goes behind intake manifold & wraps around to where you said the return is. Strange? I have the E60 2006 530I. I wonder if they change that from when they made my car? Mine was leaking. So I just recently replaced it a few months ago.
BMW Doctor,what if we perform walnut shell blasting to stop rough idling? Will it be effective? & is N52 engine suitable for walnut blasting since its NA? Please advise.
@@BMWDoctor ,Mine is a 9 year old E90 N52 with 105k miles on it.Moreover the engine was going thru some rough idling and stalled a few times until I serviced my Vanos solenoid.My mechanic is saying the rough idle & stalling is caused by carbon buildup on the engine.
HI! You dont need to do this on n52 because its not a Direct injection engine. On N52 fuel injectors are above intake valves, so petrol cleans them all the time engine work. Ps sorry for my english, im from Russia)
Consigliere Egidio mate don’t believe everything you hear and read yes he did but he never changed them did he ???? Reading on RUclips you will end up with your car in bits for nothing there part fitters mate not trained techs That’s why there stripping parts and parts down till they find the problem instead of proper diagnosis
SOS help!.... Recently bought a 530i 2009 164k mileage. Rough idol only in morning or first start but once the engine is hot everything is smooth again. Changed all spark plugs and coils. Tried a couple of injectors cleaners yet issue still exists. OBD scanner sometimes throws p0306 other times p0303. No oil leak in coil or spark plugs. Please help me
+BMW Doctor my 325i 2006 n52 smoked bad on the highway so i changed the ccv system and the hoses, changed the valve cover, changed spark plugs with single tip and deplhi coils, car has multiple misfires smoking went away but the spark plugs are new and have some black on them whats going on?
The air intake had oil in it and i dumped it all out from the ccv, i have a new ccv valve though i dont have any lean or rich does just mutliple misfires, low vvt supply
I say, if you car has around 100k miles just go ahead and replace all of these parts, considered it as basic maintenance. The EVAP pump is another pain in the butt you will need to change and the 3 series also have an issue with the fuel pump filter high pressure line on top cracking, that can cause fire.
There ain’t no way mate if it’s never been off before the hoses will break that’s just how they are so your better off to have a new one ready to go because otherwise you will not be able to put it back on without the hoses

Yes mate the vanos solenoids cause that as they control the timing and advance and retard it when you kick down the dme wants to advance the timing but can’t quick enough as your solenoids are failing
MrShaunys1210 yes bmw genuine ones only there is no others unless you want Chinese these are not readily available like other engines part were only made by bmw for this engine
Hey I need help I've been trying to find out where the line that comes out from the air box right after the MAF sensor it's not there anymore and I bought my car from a 18yr old kid and he went through and messed a lot up and I've been slowly getting it back together but it's a 2006 325xi and I have a code saying to reconnect the air box but it's there and I have a rough idle and when I'm driving on highway it will bog down a little bit sometimes and also have the 4x4! Light on and I've done cv axle and wheel bearing and I don't know what will cause that and also my cruise control won't work either I know it's a lot to ask but I'm good at fixing stuff I just need to know what and how to fix

My ground strap isn't connected to the ignition coil system..but still starts. ?? My valvetronic motor wasn't working..but the connecter was just loose so it was falling off.
Maybe they changed on your engines over there it’s not something I would know about AS we stopped production of N52 here in 2007 it only ran for a year here and we got rid was to problematic
@@BMWDoctor it wouldn't cause me any issues tho.?..would you recommend I connect it to the ignition system instead.?and yeah I don't know about that.i just needed my engine swapped and found the n52 to be the best allowed in the US for my car/E60 after a few upgrades. (3StageDisa, Euro Air Box) N53 not legal in US.

This videos has been extremely helpful to me dealing with what began as a stall at a red light. 2009 328i N51 I have replaced many of those parts to include, ess, cam and crankshaft sensors, maf, map, injectors and rail, fuel pump, vanos sensors, spark plugs, ignition coils, throttle body, crank case valve. I still have a random start and shut down but afterwards will start and idle fine. All I have left is the fuel purge valve, disa valves, ess motor and leak detection pump. Right now no codes but sometimes it throws the bank 1 and 2 lean codes. What should i replace next??

Even at moderate speeds the engine would repeatedly cut out then cut back in. Died once. Almost like it was starving for fuel. Weird hat the idle is rock steady. I actually had an appointment today at a BMW dealer to change the PVC heater under recall. I believe that it is shorted and has blown the #4 fuse under the hood. The only codes that I have are for the O2 sensor heaters that run off this fuse. Thanks.

My e90 320d drives flawlessly most of the time, but on some ocassions when I'm pressing the gas to the middle point, it starts to make a slight BRR BRR - BRR BRR BRR- BRR BRR etc sound, until I take the foot of the gas and press again. Sometimes it just goes away, sometimes it stays a while. It's not making the car undriveable, but when that happens it jerks slighty, like it connects and disconnects the gass a little, not fully.
Do you have any idea what this might be? My local BMW mechanic was unable to locate the issue, he was also unable to reproduce it, since it happens randomly.

I have a 2004 330ci-BMW automatic. When you say don't by after market. I believe you. The problem is that once the throttle body boot went out due to cracks everything else decided to wanted to be replaced. I just got replacing fuel injectors and plugs and coils, and the disa maf again (both aftermarket). Now the car runs really rough and dies after about 12 seconds. Also replaced brake light switch and fuse. Brake lights and trunk light come on and stay after I turn the key.. I truly need some help.
Awesome video. I had a question I am having a coolant leak I changed the lower radiator hose and top one . But I'm still leaking and while I was under the manifold on its side and noticed the hose that goes up the pcv valve hose is broken on it's connection near the round plastic at the bottom side . And there is coolant near there . Is this my problem?? Or just another one ? . It's a 2003 Bmw 530i

Dean, bought my e60 used and it never had the coils ground strap never have had any issues that are major . I have a ground strap to install but wanted to ask my bolt to the body is painted and yours is bare , is there any chance us spec car would have used a different ground for the coils ?
I had rough idle and cylinder shut downs mid-drive on high rpms on my bmw e90 330xi n52b30A last year. The dealer said that my cylinder head needs replacement due to heavy wear on the camshafts. So i went and bough a new engine instead. Now i have the same issues with the new engine. I replaced the plugs, coils and ccv too. Where should I look next? And did they took advantage on me just to squeeze some cash out?
Question Dr. Dean. I’ve worked my 2008 328xi over. It was running great and now when it gets to temp it feels like my torque converter is not locking and making the car jerk and judder. I have the GM GA6L45R trans which I’m sure is the worst gearbox. I’m wondering if it’s worth changing the fluid and putting a converter additive in or just replacing the torque converter. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!!

I have a coolant leak between the bottom of the expansion tank and lower hose assembly at the connector. I've opened it up and there's an O Ring but it's not a common size and BMW don't sell it (just the entire hose assembly). Anyone know who the OEM manufacturer is for the VANOS control solonoids? Even the ones from a BMW dealer are not very durable and very overpriced. There are other options such as Pierburg and Febi which make OEM equipment for BMW, but without the crazy dealership markup, anyone have any experience with these?

Maybe i had a misunderstanding, but i thought the valvetronic replaces the throttle body and is basically variable valve lift, that they first intoduced with the n42.
And the trottle body is just there as a failsave..

The throttle body serves the purpose of the car as it’s always done the valvetronic is controlled via the valvetronic motor and the solenoids thereself this is not N42 engine that is crappy 4 cylinder engine
@@BMWDoctor i just read the Wikipedia article to the n52 and they say the same. vanos is for the timing and uses the solennoids, and the valvetronic is variable valve lift wich controlls the amount of air going in and the throttle body schould be in a full open position wenn the engine is running, same as in the n42. yes the n42 is a 4 zylinder but it is the first engine with valvetronic l and the n52 has Valvetronic ll. But it has the same funktion :)
Valvetronic, in addition to throttle body, allows more precise air control. At the same time, engine still can work without valvetronic - in case of valvetronic actuator fails, you can unplug the connector and engine will work only with throttle body.
@@alexm2016 yep i tried it on my dads winter car (e46 316i with n42b18) and my Observation was when you unplug the sensor it works fine, but when you unplug sensor and motor it is way down on power, wich i guess comes from the valves not opening wide enough:)

It probably melted before me.So i emptied it.Now it gaves 2C7F: Lambda tuning 2 . 2C27: catalytic converter lambda probe system check . 2C3B: catalytic converter lambda probe didnt installed . 2C2C:lambda probe "before" catalytic converter 2 system check Codes. Can you gave me advice what should i do ?

I have a issue with e91. Right side of the car is sitting inch lower at front and nearly 2 inches lower at rear ? I mean the distance from tarmac to body.I had replaced all bottom and top rubber spring and schock mounts . All schock went with bilstein B4S and springs eibach pro. Before on the oem setup m sport springs and oem shocks it was the same . Have you any suggestion on what to check next as it is driving me mad. Please help.

Hello, I had a problem with fault drive train on my f11 523i engine N53. Last month was changed bad Nox senzor, all injectors, ignition coils and plugs. The fault during cold starts is solved, this was the first fault that I have but recently it was happened to me if I drive about 160km/h or more constantly on highway that the drive train show me also. Diagnostics shows misfire on valve 1,2,3 but alternately. Do You have some tips? Thank You

I have 2010 bmw x3 with 180000 mile i m having random misfire issue P0300,P0304 and P0306, i have changed new coil new sparkplug new air filter cleaned MAF sensor changed Valve cover gasket ,cleaned all fuel injector clean vanos solenoid and filter but this misfire keep coming back and at low rpm car gets hiccups this is on going from last 2 month but car runs very smooth on highway ,also when im at full stop i see very lite white smoke from the exhaust i'm in NJ any idea what could be wrong please give me some tips

Hello, I have a n52b25a engine, I am getting p2096 and 2196 errors in my 2009 525i, what should I do, sometimes the engine is running fluctuating, the indicator is moving up and down.
whats wrong? i start the car and its normal, sharp response on throttle, after a while or if i rev it high the rpm falls to 500rpm and then humms couple times between 500-1000rpm.. then if i try throttle again i hear a swoosh somewhere if i blip the throttle and the throttle responsiveness is gone shit? its like i had a intake leak.. after starting car again everything good again.. also knocking lifters and rattling wngine sounds may appear sometimes but it goes away if i rev the engine a little?
I just replaced the fuel hose to the fuel rail. Mine must be different. Because, my fuel hose goes behind intake manifold & wraps around to where you said the return is. Strange? I have the E60 2006 530I. I wonder if they change that from when they made my car? Mine was leaking. So I just recently replaced it a few months ago.

Mate you cannot do this on N52 and you have no reason too either the n52 does not suffer carbon build up doing this will damage your engine
@@BMWDoctor ,Mine is a 9 year old E90 N52 with 105k miles on it.Moreover the engine was going thru some rough idling and stalled a few times until I serviced my Vanos solenoid.My mechanic is saying the rough idle & stalling is caused by carbon buildup on the engine.
HI! You dont need to do this on n52 because its not a Direct injection engine. On N52 fuel injectors are above intake valves, so petrol cleans them all the time engine work. Ps sorry for my english, im from Russia)

Recently bought a 530i 2009 164k mileage. Rough idol only in morning or first start but once the engine is hot everything is smooth again. Changed all spark plugs and coils. Tried a couple of injectors cleaners yet issue still exists. OBD scanner sometimes throws p0306 other times p0303. No oil leak in coil or spark plugs. Please help me
+BMW Doctor my 325i 2006 n52 smoked bad on the highway so i changed the ccv system and the hoses, changed the valve cover, changed spark plugs with single tip and deplhi coils, car has multiple misfires smoking went away but the spark plugs are new and have some black on them whats going on?
The air intake had oil in it and i dumped it all out from the ccv, i have a new ccv valve though i dont have any lean or rich does just mutliple misfires, low vvt supply
I say, if you car has around 100k miles just go ahead and replace all of these parts, considered it as basic maintenance. The EVAP pump is another pain in the butt you will need to change and the 3 series also have an issue with the fuel pump filter high pressure line on top cracking, that can cause fire.

There ain’t no way mate if it’s never been off before the hoses will break that’s just how they are so your better off to have a new one ready to go because otherwise you will not be able to put it back on without the hoses

Yes mate the vanos solenoids cause that as they control the timing and advance and retard it when you kick down the dme wants to advance the timing but can’t quick enough as your solenoids are failing

Hey I need help I've been trying to find out where the line that comes out from the air box right after the MAF sensor it's not there anymore and I bought my car from a 18yr old kid and he went through and messed a lot up and I've been slowly getting it back together but it's a 2006 325xi and I have a code saying to reconnect the air box but it's there and I have a rough idle and when I'm driving on highway it will bog down a little bit sometimes and also have the 4x4! Light on and I've done cv axle and wheel bearing and I don't know what will cause that and also my cruise control won't work either I know it's a lot to ask but I'm good at fixing stuff I just need to know what and how to fix
Sounds like your steering wheel angle sensor is fried. I had to replace mine and it fixed the 4x4 light

My ground strap isn't connected to the ignition coil system..but still starts. ??
My valvetronic motor wasn't working..but the connecter was just loose so it was falling off.
Maybe they changed on your engines over there it’s not something I would know about AS we stopped production of N52 here in 2007 it only ran for a year here and we got rid was to problematic

This videos has been extremely helpful to me dealing with what began as a stall at a red light. 2009 328i N51 I have replaced many of those parts to include, ess, cam and crankshaft sensors, maf, map, injectors and rail, fuel pump, vanos sensors, spark plugs, ignition coils, throttle body, crank case valve. I still have a random start and shut down but afterwards will start and idle fine. All I have left is the fuel purge valve, disa valves, ess motor and leak detection pump. Right now no codes but sometimes it throws the bank 1 and 2 lean codes. What should i replace next??

Avoid amazon mate they have loads of Chinese parts avoid completely
