Earth is under fire by Colossus, a battleship the size of a city. Using powerful laser cannons, it has destroyed most of Earth's defence forces, while its many troops clean up the rest of the planet. All expect for 5 warriors.
The Battletoads, who are well aware of evil forces in the galaxy, join forces with Billy and Jimmy Lee from Double Dragon to defend Earth from the deadly ship and its troops. Using a range of special moves you must fight your way through the streets into the heart of the ship and destroy it.
Played in two player mode by Ravenlord & 18Delta
No continues were used, it took us about 7 hours to record it due to many failed attempts because game is freakin' hard XDXD -

This game was part of my childhood! I played this with my friend every time I went over. We got half way trough the game and always died on this one giant boss and it was so frustrating but so much fun!

That's a hell of a kickass game, the guitar, the fight, the funny parts, makes me remember a lot of my childhood. Played this for the first time when I was 6 year old, in 95'.

Ahead of it's time? Nah not really. It sounds a lot like rock bands from the 80's. The intro especially sounds like Duran Duran's Girls On Film. The music does sound good though.

I'd heard of this game many times before, but this my first time seeing it in action (also watched the NES version). Being a huge "Double Dragon" fan, I found it pretty hilarious how Billy's eyes bug out with the 'Toads at the bosses, and then watching how he attacks the Lindas and swings around on those ropes! This is great!

One of the best multiplayer games in its day. Man we had so much fun playing this as kids. The huge boot kick or punches always made us crack up laughing. Looking back makes me realise how great it really was it had so many different moves and obstacles to play with.
I can't believe the SNES version doesn't have the awesome 'hoverbike' tune

This was definitely one of my favorite games back in the day!
This was definitely the best console version of Battletoads for certain! That and the only one which was actually realistically beatable, and being anywhere near close to playable with two players for that matter as well! (L.O.L.!)

Rare really needs to make a new Battletoads game with The Double Dragons and add in double team moves to make the fighting aspect more fun with friends.
Never got this back in the day. Was going to say the graphics are quite lacking given the detail seen in the opening cinematics but the sheer brilliance of the gameplay makes up for it. Hanging off the sides, the AT walker-type robots breaking the wall due to their height, pogo jumping on enemies and compressing them in the process...this is the exact reason the 16-Bit era was incredible. Developers were still limited in terms of what they could do yet managed to do so much at the same time.

I love this game, everything is good, fun, it's beautiful, the music is superb, it's fun with two players. It's just a little too difficult.

Roper is actually supposed to be Willy.
Abobo has no moustache.
Also, this game is incredibly easy, especially compared to the nonsense that was Battlemaniacs.

It looks like the bird is using a flat screen monitor at 2:40, which I'm not sure was available when this game came out. I figured they only had a thick ass Compaq around that era.
Holy crap! I still have one of those "gamestation" consoles that run 8 bit games like these, i remember gettig past the machine gun boss and then dying on the space level. Next time i go to my grandmas house i have to chrck the attic for those old games so i can play them.
Used to play this game with my little cousins in 1996, when they were like 10 and 12 (I was around 16). Never managed to reach far but still fun time whenever I visited them and he and his sis boost up their SNES. I think we were laughing at the ridiculous violence as well. Our fave was pulling the hair of "Linda" and then face punch her.

On the space stage, you can hold the shoot button and lock on a target to fire missiles.

For some reason I remember it being possible to accidentally (or deliberately) hit each other in BTDD, but it doesn't seem to be happening in this playthrough.
Two versions. Two player A and two player B. One let's you hit the other doesn't.

SNESовская версия кстати реально тяжелее, чем на Sega или NES (кроме последнего босса - Тёмной Королевы - на SNES её убивать даже проще, чем на NES, например).

Hardest part was still the spaceship level. Could never get past that lmao
