I feel Brunson with gravshift reroute is awesome, throw targeting scrambler on there with disposable capacitors and interdictor title, then pick your poison for the ion upgrade. The ultimate support machine, and it works well with so many objectives, especially the ones involving stations.
Interdictors were nothing like this originally. They weren't combat ships -- they supported fleets in pulling ships out of hyperspace and preventing their escape. They relied on other ships for protection, and had very little in the way of defending themselves. They only had a total of 20 laser cannons on a 600m long ship, and they weren't tough ships in the least. A salvo of torpedoes was often enough to critically damage them.
@@hotsauce8780 It's also not an Immobilizer-418, which is what Thrawn and others used heavily in the EU, and which basically cannot defend itself. It's a middle ground version, not as tough as a converted Interdictor Star Destroyer (the ISD refits), but way more combat capable than the original converted Vindicators. It just looks like an upscaled Immobilizer, which in Disney canon is something else entirely, because why should anything make sense anymore? :)
In my opinion, Wulff's flexibility is easily worth the extra two points on non-carrier ships. Wulff permits you to assign dials _other_ than Engineering while still being able to pass and recharge a shield every turn for free (or continuously power Engine Techs without having to dial a Navigate every turn). Grint's cheaper ability is best only if you plan on only ever running the same dial every turn, which would be the case for ships that push Sqaudron commands all game.
While this video has been out I have been watching your other videos. My question for you now that Raddus has been out how would you rank him as a commander of the liberty mc-80?
I'm wondering if a triple Interdictor Thrawn fleet is viable. It would be so tanky as to force the opponent to one turn kill ships or else watch them rebuild in a single turn.
Hey Crabbok have you noticed the Immobilizer 418 cruiser and Interdictor-class Star Destroyer are both Canon? Is this an oversight, since I assumed that the Interdictor was a canonized version of the 418? It is clear that the Interdictor is far larger than the Immobilizer.
There are a few other "Interdictors" outside of these two, such as the Detainer CC-2200 and the CC-7700 which are also Canon. Pretty confusing. It seems most accurate to understand "Interdictor" as a blanket title for any ship capable of hyperspace shenanigans. Which makes sense, as this class of ship was always experimental with many different versions and plenty of trial and error.
I have to disagree about the G7-X upgrade. It is awesome. Combine with it with the Grav Shift and for 4pts you can mess with 2/3rds of your opponent's deployment zone. More often than not they deploy in the "free" zone which just happens to have all my guns pointed in that direction...
Then your opponents probably make mistakes. I have zero problems starting out at speed 0 and doing a nav for the first turn or two. Heck sometimes it can even be an advantage since you'll have to come to me. - However I DO like this upgrade a lot - especially now with the Raddus blocking.
I've always like the ship before I even got into Armada. Question for everyone, does putting Captain Needa on the Interdictor to swap a contain with an evade make sense? Or is it better to keep the contains?
Eric Klink The primary play with Needa is to grant a ship with a turbo laser upgrade a use of turbo laser reroute circuits. Not having a TL upgrade limits the effectiveness of Needa on the Interdictor.
One of my favorite EU ships. Loved how they were the ultimate traps in the x wing series
That Heavy Ions emplacement really enhanced the value of ships with a lot of blue dice. Good stuff
I love all your breakdowns. I am looking foward to having the interdictor seen in more lists since wave heaven.
'Dictors are so under-rated, one of my favorite ships.
What's better than a 'dictor? Two 'dictors! Two 'dictors is an absolute pain to deal with >:D
I think they were deservingly under rated prior to the last two waves
Aliessil the double dict is fun
always glad to rewatch older videos of yours for help deciding what to buy

I was waiting for this!!! I hope you continue doing moreeee ship breakdowns. Great vids!

that's my only problem with the interdictor in this game, it shouldn't really be a flagship haha
They had to arm it for balance. Its still not too powerful in terms of damage

Thank you. I was missing your ship breakdowns!
Jerjerrod + Interdoctor (Wulff + Projection Experts) = painless maneuverbility for the whole fleet
Taskmaster Grint will do the same thing, but cheaper. It's a great card for the Interdictor.

Totally fair. :)
Liking that idea 👍
The interdictor is my favorite star wars ship (closely followed by the Onager)

Great ship for causing havoc on enemy fleets. Lots of options
Mwa ha ha! Interdictor! Favorite ship in Armada!

I feel like you should be able to redirect even if your stuck at speed 0
Wish the Rebels would get a ship that could used those upgrades.

YES ADD MORE BREAKDOWNS!!!
Well I got another interdictor because of this
Can you do this for x wing?
would you recommend running twin interdictor
It can be fun but doesn't have too much firepower

An expensive support ship is a fundamentally flawed idea.
